Welcome to OTF -- Class No. 1

[Bobby Burton]

I'd like to welcome our first-ever class of OTF Interns to the OTF community.

They are:

- Hayden Carner

- Jordan Gorewitz

- Kumar Kharod

- Carson McCay

- Chris Mickelson

- Gavin Resendez

- Payton Sherman

- Justin Teall

One of my goals in opening up our OTF office on West Campus was to create a space where students could learn the digital publishing business from the ground up while following something I know many of them love -- Texas Football. The idea is to give them real-world experience and have them help make OTF a better product and a better community for all of you.

We had our kickoff meeting with the Interns last Monday and they are already contributing in a bunch of ways, from video footage of last night's softball game, to graphic support of the YouTube show, to marketing ideas, to a few message board posts, and more.

This university gave a lot to me as an undergrad. It helped me give my family a good life. My goal is to help some of these guys in a similar fashion.

Please join me in welcoming them to the community!

Interns, if you're reading this, drop a quick reply with your major and your favorite memory so far as a Longhorn.

Hook'Em!

This is awesome! Welcome everyone!

[thatdude2]

Congratulations…Stay away from @Joe Z and his father. They are House Slytherin.

[Tuco Ramirez]

That’s awesome Bobby! Thanks for giving back to the Longhorn community.

[CarsonOTF]

Hey y’all, I’m Carson, I’m really excited to be a part of OTF! I am a Junior Radio-Television-Film major and I think my favorite memory as a longhorn so far was being at the 2024 ASU game and getting to see the 4th and 13 Matthew Golden touchdown in person. Hook ‘em!

[Hank South]

Welcome, gents!

I like to have a lot of fresh fruit around and chocolate chips in my pancakes. Ok? Write it down.

[4thandFive]

Welcome all and God bless.

To celebrate after the first meeting, I offered them all a Garage Beer and Flight from Yuengling.

Then I remembered they might not be 21 years old yet!

[GavinOTF]

What’s up everyone, my name is Gavin and I’m a sophomore Journalism major. My favorite memory here at UT so far is definitely beating A&M last year at home, easily the best game I’ve ever been to! I’m super excited to be apart of this community and to learn more about the industry. If anyone wants to talk ball or teach me some football history from before my time, let me know!🤘🤘🤘

[UTexas]

Awesome job doing this @Bobby Burton.

Welcome to the newbies!!!!!!!!!!

Better put a lock on the door into the OTF Tap Room.

Carson, its Longhorn not longhorn.

Please and thank you. 🙂

Thanks for the opportunity to be part of OTF! I earned my degree in Business Analytics from UTSA, and I’m now pursuing a graduate certificate in Sports Communication here at UT. I’d have to say my favorite memory as a Longhorn so far would be the Texas comeback versus Ohio State(huge shocker). I know it’s a basic answer, but this is my first year here in Austin and hopefully we get many more like it. Hook’em 🤘🏼

[Daytripper]

[alrightalrightalright]

Welcome, interns! 🤘🏽

[K. Baughman]

Great thing you’re doing Bobby. Welcome Interns.

[Bobby Burton]

They've also already created some mock-ups for a new look of the homepage.

I think it'll be a drastic improvement yet keep the same functionality and ease of use.

[Thisrowyellssorry]

Welcome, pledges! Wishing you all the best of luck in tonight’s mayo chug extravaganza. 🙏

[CJ Vogel]

Let's go fellas! Welcome!

[CoachScott619]

CJ gonna teach them how to take shots before class.

Thank you for the opportunity! Hi everyone, my name is Kumar and I’m a junior pursuing dual degrees in Finance and Plan II Honors. The comeback against Ohio St has to be #1 for me, but Taaffe icing the A&M game last year with a pick is a close second...for sure the two best games I've been to. Looking forward to being a part of the community🤘

[Ace Recruiter]

Congrats all! This is Awesome Bobby. Nothing like giving back. Looking forward to all your contributions.
