  1. On that punt, his avoidance of blocking the rusher that blocked and recovered it, did look conspicuous.
  2. Typical aggie sourness and poor sportsmanship. An example of what not to be.
  3. #30, as in 30 wins in a row.
  4. 20-0 as a starter. As clutch a player as Texas has ever had. Player of the game in "Game of the Century" at Arkansas. At one time, was the only college quarterback who ever came from behind twice to beat Oklahoma.
  5. Yes. Has to be understood though.
  6. Beginning the "modern" era with 1992 is completely ridiculous and I suspect that it just conveniently corresponds to when you began to follow UT football. Don't be afraid of history. Learn it instead.
  7. Doug Shankle (1978-1981). Holds the record for career solo tackles at UT (325). Coincidentally, that statistic was not part of the records until his freshman year in 1978.
  8. Nailed it with Wuensch. Some real good history here. Just considering the impact in his day, hard to find any horn OL better in their day. Spoke to him around seventeen years ago at Ninfa's on Navigation.
  9. Texas only lost 3 games from 1961-1964. Won 30 games in row from 1968-1970 (22 of which happened in the 60s}. Won two national championships in the 60s. The 2000s don't compare. At least not favorably.
  10. As a college player, being compared to the players of his day, I'm not sure Bobby Wuensch wasn't the best of them all. Key block here by #50 Wuensch on the game winning TD late in the Cotton Bowl to win the 1969 national championship.
