48 yard run by Wisner against ATM to set the tone for the 2nd half
-
Rushing Name Q. Wisner RB C. Baxter RB J. Gibson RB C. Clark RB J. Simon RB There is your list by production... Gibson, Simon, Wisner likely gone...you have 2 coming in. Still minus 1 if that happens. Baxter has put it on the line and done everything he could to get back even though hes likely nowhere near 100%. Will he regain 100% of what he was?? 50 50 shot. Baxter would be the only back with substantial experience and hes likely to get better maybe even significantly so. It would be a very impatient approach to offload a back that could potentially be very productive, with no question about work ethic or how he fits with the team, and the only back with substantial experience. And if you gave me a shooter that only hit 20% but likely hits 50% the next year...you bet im keeping him around.

Notre Dame Opts Out Bowl Game
watty7796 replied to Texas fan in Georgia's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I hope Texas does not oot out for 1 reason and 1 eeason only. The extra practicws for the younger players and early enrollees will help development. As far as the CFP that committee should be laughed out of college football -
Still averaged 3.6 pc and was the best pass blocker in the backfield. Def did not have the same explosive pop he had prior to injury, but he did get back on the field ahead of schedule. If his recovery continues at the rate it has so far I would not be suprised if he regains 80 to 90% of that back by week 1 of the 26 season. Just my humble opinion.

College Football Playoff Selection Show Thread
watty7796 replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Well i def have no interest in rd 1 games...replays and trash....no clear reason or rhyme to selections. Even if they go to 16 teams, near future itll be 20 or more because there is no standard. Until they clarify and follow some clearly stated set of rules this will continue to be a cluster screw. This needs to be a transparent process with the abilty for removal of members for clear bias. -
CBs injury usually takes a few years 2 or 3 to recover from if he recovers fully. It was a miracle he was able to play this season with any productivity. I would be very hesitant to short sell this young man imo. I would def give him 1 more year before making a decision either way. Multi-ligament injuries (PCL/LCL): Significantly longer, potentially over a year for high-level athletes, with lower rates of return to prior performance, especially for pivoting sports.

OTF Premium 3 Stars of the Game vs. Texas A&M
watty7796 replied to CJ Vogel's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Additional HM... Sark for sticking with the run in the gameplan and Arch. No turnovers nice td run. Not sure how much lattitude he has to audible but there were very few plays especially in the 2nd half -
OTF Premium Vodney Cleveland ...

Personal opinion...clevelsnd is the best dl in this clsss as a nose interior line type. Quick 1st step for a big fella and holds the poa better than most dls ive seen. This would be a huge loss for Texas, not a death knell, but one of those guys that the Horns would definitely wish to have. Difference maker. -
Sark and co have never been shy if there was a must get. They have been very thoughtful and made a few off evals imo, but have gone after what they needed. Last year it was what about d tackleand te... they went and got em, everyone thought this oline would be better, thus the bad eval statement along with safety and db.

LB Anthony Hill Jr. Named Butkus Award Finalist

It should be down toHill and the kid from Tech. If TT played the same level of comp as Texas i think Hill walks away with it, but if your looking at plain stats its hard to argue. -
OTF Premium HOOK 'EM | Texas Flips OL Kaden Scherer

Is he an early enrolee? -
Didnt say it was all PKs fault. I think PKs defensive scheme has hit its ceiling. Nansen IMO was a great addition last year, but what he is doing now is stale and predictable. Back to the main point, I said its not all on Akina....the overall responsibility for the defense lies on Pk and thus Sark. I have had issues with PK and bad scheme and playcalling since his arrival at Texas. Year 1 the reason was its not his guys, year 2 hes developing his guys but they are coming along, year 3 help ala TCU former head coach, uear 4 addition of Nansen a few new wrinkles and atleast a few pressure packages. Also a 1 and 2 pick thorpe award winner, likely another 2 first rounders in the pipe ant hill, collin simmons. With the ability Texas has why are we still going through the growing pains. Why are we still playing bend dont break, relying on turnovers etc. We are in year 5 and now its the guys are young, inexperienced etc. The talent and ability has fallen short overall every year with PK as the guy. Not every game but overall. His dbs are 11 games in and still playing the sticks...if indeed this is Akina why has PK done nothing to address it. If its a disconnect between sark and pk in complemening styles it needs to get fixed. Talent hasnt equalled production....
-
I was trying to point out that man and press man doesnt work well when you play that bdb defense. This blame does not fall squarely on Akina, it falls on PK and Orphey as well. 2nd, the guys they have recruited are man and press man types not necessarily zone, 3rd when you play 8-10 off you give up free first downs up and down the field=worn out d, dont care how deep your roatation is, 4th Sark is responsible for the whole team with an emphasis on offense, PK is responsible for the defense. Ive stated on here previously PK is a good coach, i do not think he is a championship level coach. Not saying he is the problem but he aint the answer either.
-
Not so sure the issue is Akina. PK has always had that bend but dont break mentality. Difference is He had Makuba and Jahdae back there masking the shortcomings, and for some reason Taaffe has not been the same player this year, bad angles out of position etc.you are going to have a really hard time playing man and especially press man with that mentality and thats the players that have been recruited. Just saying the issue is much larger than Akina.

11/17/2025 - An important date to remember

Maybe thats why Texas has had a hard time finding the kind of coaches they need to get them over the hump...CDC does seem to have a better grasp on how and who than past ADs imo. Either way its gonna be a bumpy ride if there arent significant improvements through the end of this season and start of next. Just my opinion. -

I agree with alot of what you have to say. Sark is a great recruiter so the players and talent are there. The real question is Sark a championship coach?? Better than Herman absolutely, will he take you to the promise land.. .big question. Dont forget his nickname as a hc before Texas was 7 win Sark. On the other side of it ive said multiple time pk is a good coach not a great coach. Ref both of these mentioned can you honestly say either has put their players in the best positions to succeed. Id say absolutely not. Most players drafted the last 2 years combined....no ring in either the sec or nationally. Im not saying by any means sark should be fired, but a real conversation needs to happen. If Texas could get Cignetti away from Indiana for example, thats a move i would get behind in a heart beat. -
IMO the biggest issue Texas has is they do not have a physical RB and G/C/G. So my question is which players in either the portal or HS recruiting should Texas be Targeting? At RB Amari Latimer would be a good fit, currently committed to Wisconsin. Dont know about other positions.
-
The bottom line is every season since Sark has arrived the discipline on this team has deteriorated. Evidence is penalties have gone up every season. Sark is made out to be a quarterback whisperer and offensive guru. Id argue he is neither. QE development wasnt very good, and Arch has been behind where he should be IMO. The offense itself is designed as finesse instead of physical. That leads to thinking Texas will not be a physical unit that can run between the tackles (soft oline non physical rbs). PK and secondary coaches are not on the same page. PK runs a soft defense ( bend dont break nonsense). This leaves his defense on the field for excessive amounts of time, which in turn means the Texas offense has less opportunity to make substantial drives. It also wears out the defensive players after a few games. Dbs are playing beyond the line of gain allowing a ton of first downs. These issues have been an issue for every game this season. UGA just highlighted them. I would also argue that the above has been an ongoing issue for multiple seasons. Teams take on the coaches persona to a degree and by that i would say there is little heart, little fight, and little want to. By no means advocating for wholesale change, however there does need to be some shakeup. Continuity is great if its working, its insane if you continue to have the same issues without addressing them.

I whole heartedly agree. It seems that officiating across all conferences is going downhill fast
-
Amari Lattimer for example from this upcoming class.
-
Whoever Texas decides to go with at some point they need to find a battering ram that can get that 2-3 yards between the tackles that noone wants to get in front of.
-
Would be interesting to see him on one end and simmons on the other. Dangerous.
