  1. Not a big fan of any poll that teams haven't played a game. Injury, players not playing to potential, players playing way above potential, good and bad bounces, etc. It's not fair to place expectations either way without anything on the resume. Just my 2 cents.
  2. Duncanville 5 star decommitted from LSU? Any new movement here?
  3. I think there are very different levels of elite. Winning a national championship elite lvl 1 winning conference championship without winning national championship lvl 2 making the cfp lvl 3. All are elite in their own right but def on different levels.
  4. I hope that they make it a mandatory thing to receive T1 funds or other NIL deals to set them up for future success. I can only speculate but I would think there are quite a few successful business men and women there for mentorship opportunities.
  5. Does UT educate its athletes about smart investing and budgeting with the rise of NIL so they don't end up like so many previous athletes?
  6. Happy Born Day GH.
  7. There are a lot of highly rates players, you pick the sport. How much does the coachability factor in with relation to recruiting? We all saw the impact a hint of it can make in the NFL draft even if it was bogus.
  8. Is he sn upgrade over T Brooks? Or similar in skill
  9. While Texas is recruiting interior D Lineman, which is easier converting 0 and 2i tech guys to 3 and 5 tech guys or vice versa? How much does this affect recruiting? Who in this cycle fits the bill for a true over the center defender?
  10. More arrows in the quiver that is. Sorry I'm a bit slow.
  11. I would argue that it probably is going to help also because there will be more opportunity to offer scholarships. More quivers to shoot so to speak. So long as the development stays steady it should be beneficial.
  12. With 11 draft picks and many of the players going as 3rd year players, how much does that help recruiting both because of the development and the vacating of scholarships to open up more spots?
  13. I by no means think PK is a bad coach. I think he is an above average to good coach. I simply don't believe that he is a championship level DC. Looking specifically at the last 3 years his passing d, sack rate etc has been lacking. While I acknowledge that he's been low on the depth and talent pool for those areas it is his and the other d coaches responsibility to ensure they are in a good place. I believe this last 2 recruiting class will help, however there are still glaring issues ( interior d line depth) that raise legitimate concerns. Further he had a month to scheme for Washington in the CFP and was still unable to scheme pressure there.
  14. They were also outside the top 50 in pass defense and sack rate which is what cost them the game against Washington. It's going to be a different thing altogether this year as they do not have the arguably rhe best 2 interior d Lineman in the country. I hope they can adjust and at least get a push from the nt, dt positions to create more opportunities on the interior to force them into our d ends.
  15. This is my opinion only. Was curious what everyone else's thoughts were. What does Texas have to do for continued success both this season and beyond? I believe culture and want to are paramount. Sark is a first rate coach and recruiter so player ability should be an expectation. I am not sold on PK to this point. I believe he is an above average DC but not sure he's a championship level coach. Case and point lack of aggressiveness with DBs until late in the season last year or a month of prep for U Dub and still didn't have the creativeness to get pressure on Penix. The game of football is won and lost in the trenches and I am concerned with the lack of depth on the interior D Line. Who steps up or is Texas going to continue to reach into the portal for stop gap options. See T Carter from last year's team. The Longhorns have to develop a killer instinct. Letting teams stay in games that have no business playing with Texas cost a lot of the younger players meaningful snaps in game. Given thise opportunities I believe the staff would have a much better read on where focus needs to be given as far as roster construction or staff development. The red zone issues from last year must be fixed or it will likely cost Texas atleast 1 if not 2 games. What do yall think?
  16. Texas skipped him last year, I can't imagine they'd go after him this year. Culture is a high priority.
  17. @Bobby Burtoncoffee suggestions, easy to find tactisquach from black rifle is good, harder to find, pecan by gearhead or anything from summer moon
  18. I would lime to see Sark put his speed on the field with a 5 wr set....or split a back out.
  19. If the kid can punt and kick it would save a spot on the travel team.
  20. How much will C. Simmons be able to influence DK Moore moving forward in the recruiting process or would it be a J Cook type that would move the needle?
  21. If he has a good year he will probably only stick around for 1 IMO.
  22. Has any of the interior D Lineman started to rise to the top, specifically the 0 and 3 tech guys we are going to need?
  23. He may be the best redzone target from the wr position with his size. Hopefully he will learn to "box out" and give his qb an easier throw in tight space.
  24. What are the odds Gbenda ends up with a draft grade this season. He jas made significant strides the past 2 seasons. If he continues that trajectory where do you think finishes? My thoughts 4-6 round pick but a huge jump from a few seasons ago.
  25. How well has Sark and the staff fared overall? The guys that are juniors were his first recruiting class. Where in comparison to the Georgia's and Alabamas and Ohio States is Texas now that they have had some time to build a roster. What are reasonable expectations moving forward?
