  1. While Texas is recruiting interior D Lineman, which is easier converting 0 and 2i tech guys to 3 and 5 tech guys or vice versa? How much does this affect recruiting? Who in this cycle fits the bill for a true over the center defender?
  2. More arrows in the quiver that is. Sorry I'm a bit slow.
  3. I would argue that it probably is going to help also because there will be more opportunity to offer scholarships. More quivers to shoot so to speak. So long as the development stays steady it should be beneficial.
  4. With 11 draft picks and many of the players going as 3rd year players, how much does that help recruiting both because of the development and the vacating of scholarships to open up more spots?
  5. I by no means think PK is a bad coach. I think he is an above average to good coach. I simply don't believe that he is a championship level DC. Looking specifically at the last 3 years his passing d, sack rate etc has been lacking. While I acknowledge that he's been low on the depth and talent pool for those areas it is his and the other d coaches responsibility to ensure they are in a good place. I believe this last 2 recruiting class will help, however there are still glaring issues ( interior d line depth) that raise legitimate concerns. Further he had a month to scheme for Washington in the CFP and was still unable to scheme pressure there.
  6. They were also outside the top 50 in pass defense and sack rate which is what cost them the game against Washington. It's going to be a different thing altogether this year as they do not have the arguably rhe best 2 interior d Lineman in the country. I hope they can adjust and at least get a push from the nt, dt positions to create more opportunities on the interior to force them into our d ends.
  7. This is my opinion only. Was curious what everyone else's thoughts were. What does Texas have to do for continued success both this season and beyond? I believe culture and want to are paramount. Sark is a first rate coach and recruiter so player ability should be an expectation. I am not sold on PK to this point. I believe he is an above average DC but not sure he's a championship level coach. Case and point lack of aggressiveness with DBs until late in the season last year or a month of prep for U Dub and still didn't have the creativeness to get pressure on Penix. The game of football is won and lost in the trenches and I am concerned with the lack of depth on the interior D Line. Who steps up or is Texas going to continue to reach into the portal for stop gap options. See T Carter from last year's team. The Longhorns have to develop a killer instinct. Letting teams stay in games that have no business playing with Texas cost a lot of the younger players meaningful snaps in game. Given thise opportunities I believe the staff would have a much better read on where focus needs to be given as far as roster construction or staff development. The red zone issues from last year must be fixed or it will likely cost Texas atleast 1 if not 2 games. What do yall think?
  8. Texas skipped him last year, I can't imagine they'd go after him this year. Culture is a high priority.
  9. @Bobby Burtoncoffee suggestions, easy to find tactisquach from black rifle is good, harder to find, pecan by gearhead or anything from summer moon
  10. I would lime to see Sark put his speed on the field with a 5 wr set....or split a back out.
  11. If the kid can punt and kick it would save a spot on the travel team.
  12. How much will C. Simmons be able to influence DK Moore moving forward in the recruiting process or would it be a J Cook type that would move the needle?
  13. If he has a good year he will probably only stick around for 1 IMO.
  14. Has any of the interior D Lineman started to rise to the top, specifically the 0 and 3 tech guys we are going to need?
  15. He may be the best redzone target from the wr position with his size. Hopefully he will learn to "box out" and give his qb an easier throw in tight space.
  16. What are the odds Gbenda ends up with a draft grade this season. He jas made significant strides the past 2 seasons. If he continues that trajectory where do you think finishes? My thoughts 4-6 round pick but a huge jump from a few seasons ago.
  17. How well has Sark and the staff fared overall? The guys that are juniors were his first recruiting class. Where in comparison to the Georgia's and Alabamas and Ohio States is Texas now that they have had some time to build a roster. What are reasonable expectations moving forward?
  18. While Texas is planting flags all over the place, playing in the SEC.....how much intrigue is there for players out west (Bishop Gorman for example) or north of the Mason Dixon line to play down south. Outside of less than a handful Texas hasn't really reached into areas in the NE and states like Ohio Penn Michigan Virginia as examples.
  19. Of those mentioned Bledsoe is the one who must make the leap as Texas D Line group is woefully short on experience and to a degree depth. Letting teams stay in games that the Longhorns should have blown out see houston Rice etc cost the guys on roster opportunities in real games to develop. Just my opinion.
  20. Spring camp is almost here. Which player/s have the most to prove? Do you see any surprises coming?
  21. There is always the same nonsense that comes with Texas football. Here is the new one. This staff is developing players and maximizing talent. Oh and by the way they actually seem to be like family, not just a bumper sticker saying. It's nice to see.

  22. Now we just need to hear those names called. Exciting times for Longhorn nation.
  23. That was awesome. History lesson for some as well
  24. I would hate to see it bogged down as well, but reality is that college football is a profession now especially with the revolution of NIL. These guys are getting paid to be both student and athlete. Don't get ne wrong, I believe they should be as these schools have made a metric butt ton of money off of these kids.
  25. While I partially agree with your statement, either way it would be a level playing field. It would prepare student athletes for the next level. The game overall has gotten bigger and faster so while only a small portion make it to the pros, those that do would be much better prepared, and thus make them more successful. Bottom line is the product on the field at the pro level would get better and student athletes would adjust and be better thus a better product. Just my opinion.
