  1. Baseball now only allows parking in the East Garage if you are a season ticket holder and paid at least $200 dollars to the Longhorn Foundation; or if you are handicapped. Of course, even as a season ticket holder or having a handicapped plate or placard you still pay to park.
  2. That run to the elite 8 was probably not really his own making. He inherited that. Maybe being fresh helped the team rally a bit, but he has had time since then to show something, whether or not he got as much as other coaches around the country. I think UT wanted him to prove something he had not done before as a head coach (his prior records as a head coach are provided above) and he has not done that. We will see how UT thinks about him when the season ends.
  3. https://www.minnpost.com/community-voices/2024/09/fifty-years-after-the-first-procedure-tommy-john-surgery-is-more-common-than-ever/ The article says more than half of the surgeries now are in ages 15-19.- " it’s estimated that nearly 2,500 professional baseball players have undergone the surgery, and the number of overall procedures increases about 9% a year. " This article as well as another I saw somewhere said that 1/3 of major league pitchers have had this surgery. Seems like a lot but I have seen it twice. Might be fake news.
  4. Those numbers seem low. Hasn't UT by itself had 3 or 4 in the last few years?
  5. Who do we have that can even do that. Spencer? Moffett?
  6. Boy, those Dartmouth pitchers are good. We can't hit them.
  7. 3 up and down. The garage is no longer accessible unless you have the season ticket Foundation pass or are handicapped.
  8. Disch is cold early on and then sweltering when it gets hot. It probably needs upgrades too to meet the standards of what I hear some of the SEC stadiums have. Perhaps something similar to Omaha. But I still think domed/retractable roof or whatever makes for a much better fan experience and player's experience.
  9. Like Bobby Layne, James Street, Johnny Lam Jones, etc.😁
  10. Domed stadiums. Everyone should have one.
  11. Galvan is batting 9th. I wonder if the coach is trying to take pressure off of him or has just moved him down to shake things up.
  12. Let's stop our Ks (5 after 3 innings) before they get too out of hand and get some hits and runs.
  13. Friday and Saturday will feel like 10 or 15 degrees at Disch-Falk, even with those new starting times. Saturday may be down the tubes because of potential rain and even some kind of freezing precipitation. Sunday will be reasonable weather, but still pretty chilly. I don't know Dartmouth's travel schedule but I wonder if they could fit in a double-header on Sunday if needed. We might go Sunday, but Friday and Saturday could be absolutely miserable in that stadium.
  14. Teagan Kavan was named both SEC and National pitcher of the week.
  15. All right. Hook'em where it hurts.
  16. I agree that the ideal batting order is probably something different in the long run and does not seem to be quite ideal so far. But that may clear up more once the hitters settle in and Schloss gets a good feel for what everyone will do. Farmer and Winfield were not looking so good at the plate and need to get settled in. Kimble needs to do that to and Flores is struggling a bit so far. ARod struck out a lot the first two games but was great in the 3rd. He hits the ball hard. Belyeu looks better this year than last year. Will seems to have shortened his swing or done something with it and was much better at the plate as far as laying off of bad pitches and swinging at good pitches. Of course, they have only played three games so far. Mendoza made some flubs in the field and Farmer did too. Farmer either fell asleep or leaned too much and got picked off at first base and on a play in right he was nonchalant and allowed a runner to go to 3rd. So far, it is hard to tell if ARod will be a better third baseman than Powell because of the way he fields the ball, but the sample size is still small. ARod does have a really good arm.
  17. Jared Spencer looked as good as any starter I saw and I watched every game. The speed of his pitches was up there too and perhaps better than almost all of the other pitchers there. Moffett was not in long enough to get a feel for him as far as speed but for starting pitchers Spencer was one of the best.
  18. Well, we didn't meet my goal of having 12 strikeouts or less.
  19. On to the bottom of 7th. We only have 10 Ks after 6 innings. I am hoping we keep it to 12 or less for the game.
  20. They have delayed as much as that pitcher
  21. Hopefully Kennedy gets to play there. Seemed like a good kid.
