  1. Easton Tumis has not pitched this year. Is he hurt or being redshirted? Mercer has not pitched in a month. Any notes on him.
  2. Thanks for these highlights.
  3. Definitely hide the women and children. It was hard to tell how good his blocking skills are since he either threw guys down or ran over them. 🤣
  4. Norman is about an hour closer to Lubbock than Austin. If that is not what turned the tide I question her decision.

  6. Those guys are like a lot of TV announcers for various sports now. They talk amongst one another about a lot of things that aren't relevant to what is happening at that moment on the field. Half the time those SEC guys don't even say who is up for a drill.
  7. He and his wife need some burnt orange clothes and some Texas Gear.
  8. Aggies are probably posting some of that.
  9. Hope Arch lives up to the hype. He sure has some skills and a lot of potential. I am looking forward to it. Best of luck to Quinn in the future.
  10. How did Arizona get in with a record barely above .500. TCU and Baylor seem to be much better.
  11. That sounds great to be ranked that high, but I am still keeping my fingers crossed. There still seems to be too much inconsistency for me to be all in on that high of a ranking. I have very much enjoyed the improvement from last year and if they keep this kind of record up for another month or so I will feel much better. Regardless, we are on the right track. Hook'em.
  12. We only had 7 Ks tonight, and we managed to get 7 walks. 5 guys had multiple hits. Flores' HR was a bomb. Harrison pitched well until the end. Grubbs pitched well except for the 2 run HR. Volantis came in and shut them down. Plus, our pitching only gave up 2 walks (although they managed to hit 2 as well) and managed to strike out 8. Those kinds of numbers make it easier to win.
  13. Pitching has been sub par and so has hitting. Also, 8 strikeouts with no walks in 6 innings.
  14. They should all get Bentley's or Rolls instead of exotics or high end sport luxury cars and hire a chauffeur.
  15. When I was at Johns Hopkins years ago, the new Denton Cooley rec. center in the medical center had squash courts. The first squash player I saw there was a woman who was supposedly some national champ as an undergrad at either Penn or Princeton (started with a P). She smoked the guy she was playing. That was the first time I saw someone play squash. I tried it a few times but did not like being in a confined court where someone was swinging a long racquet close to me. I stuck to racquetball and handball.
  16. Disappointing loss. The combination of Rerick (starter), Navarre, and Burns pitched 1.0 innings and gave up 7 runs (6 earned). Kade Bing pitched great. Howard was a bit shaky but pitched better than I have seen him for a while and Riojas did pretty well, but was probably in too long again. Hitting was spotty as far as getting runs across and putting rallies together, as partially evidenced by our 3 homeruns all being solo shots. We did have some bad luck as far as hard hit balls that were caught and even Belyeu getting hit on the bases by a hard hit ball by Flores that would have been a hit. The two errors were costly and base running could have been better. Mendoza is a firecracker, Belyeu is swinging better again, as is Flores, Schuessler may be getting back to his old self, and Winfield may be looking better. Galvan's power has been impressive, but he struck out 3 times last night and Gasparino did twice. Both had seemed to be cutting down strikeouts from last year, but those may be increasing again. We were in double digit strikeouts again, and UTSA only had 7.
  17. He will be an upgrade there. I thought Berkman might have been a better choice than Cruz, but who knows. I always respected Rice baseball but they have really tanked the last few years. They were one of the few sports there that was consistently good. I think he will help them and hope he learned something from his time at Texas. Good luck to Rice baseball.
  18. I guess he wasn't elite to get enough Jimbo retirement money.
  19. As a long time Cowboys fan I hope they do something good to get a backup and potential starter, but I would hate to see them draft Quinn and then ruin him. Quinn has a chance of being a pro quarterback, perhaps long term, but may need to be in the right place. If he gets to be a backup for a couple of years and has a good qb coach, those chance go up.
  20. Agreed. We had that issue in the past with Duplantier. He appears to have worked on some things and hopefully improved on that. Riojas in particular does seem to have that 30-40 pitch/2 inning bug, at least in his last couple of outings when he went that far. Hopefully Wiener can do his thing with the middle relief guys. It would be nice to have reliable 2-5 inning relief guys when you need them.
  21. Saw your analysis of the team on Coffee and Football. They are still not running on all cylinders and different guys seem to have stretches of inconsistency, including returning stalwarts. Schloss will keep tweaking until he finds the right mix and hopefully more consistency among those expected to be the starters. That being said, there is a lot of talent and when some are in slumps others have picked them up. Overall, pitching has been better than expected, but is still a work in progress. Let's hope some greater consistency occurs now that the tough SEC schedule has started. I am more hopeful than before that the team will be in the playoffs and at least make it into super regionals. I would like to make another trip to Omaha, even though the hotels engage in price gouging during that time. Hook'em.
