  1. Hopefully the rest before the regional allows some sort of reset for the players and excites a few to play their best. I was checking this year's statistics and compared it to last year's and noticed that among the starters there really was no improvement over last. One or two players improved in one or two categories, but nothing really major. Galvan made some progress in a few areas- his b.a. was up about 10 points, his walks were up and he has a few more HRs. His Ks are similar. Gasparino's walks doubled and his Ks were down, but everything else was similar. Schuessler's avg. is down about 30 points and Flores' avg. plummeted from .340 to .248 and his HRs are down some. It is hard to judge Max since he missed so much time.
  2. The brackets/regions at the NCAA baseball site still had Houston Christian listed as Houston Baptist. At least right after they were posted.
  3. Oops. I meant OK City.
  4. Norman bound!! Hook'em. I can't take many more of these games.
  5. 2 outs but tuing run on 2nd
  6. Boo. 2 run shot for Clemson. 1 out.
  7. Let's get 3 outs and head to the World Series
  8. Well we made up 1 run and are now up 6 to 3.
  9. Another run. Make it hurt.
  10. I find the analyst to be a bit annoying.
  11. Several pitchers have gone downhill
  12. Should have pulled her last inning
  13. Close play at the plate.
  14. Back when I was in 8th grade I could have taken some of that magic potion that Barry Bonds was using and I still would not look like that.
  15. That's it! There were no eighth graders on my 8th grade team that looked like that. Thanks DO.
  16. Keagan has had some of those issues too. Except for last night and one other recent game, she has been giving up about an earned run per inning in her last few SEC starts.
  17. I don't think they even had a spring game this year. They did have some kind of fan event but don't know if that picture was part or all of it.
  18. I am a big Ivan fan and hope he can tweak some things enough to keep progressing. Making the transition and moving up to the big leagues is extremely difficult, even for very good college players. His hitting, especially power, has carried him, but he had too many Ks in college and does not seem to have improved that too much in the pros. To get to the bigs he probably needs to improve on at least one of those. As Blake mentioned, it probably won't be his D that helps him. I worry about our current players for the same reasons. If you can't hit a curve and always chase them you are doomed. A little bit of power and a bad batting average won't get you far unless you are excellent in the field- and that partially depends on the position. Even if you can hit for a reasonable or good average, without some power or an excellent glove and arm for the right position or really good speed it still can be hard to make it.
  19. Is he the one that looked a bit like that in 8th grade? I remember seeing a post awhile back with an 8th grade pic of one of the new guys and he looked like a senior in high school.
