    Based on the current standings, those standings could change a lot. There are a lot of schools with similar records.

    Not really Mt. Rushmore, but Marty Akins was the only quarterback that ran a wishbone offense to be voted All American. Tough pick for me but it would be from the group, Earl, Bobby Layne, Nobis, Ricky, and of course Vince. Street was very good too.

    Our defense in the outfield is not as good as last year's in my opinion. We seem to have more minor missteps, bobbles, and mental errors. I assume the big shifts to one side or the other are orchestrated by the staff. Infield defense has been pretty good, but some of the errors that we have had have been very untimely. Our hitting has been inconsistent at times, and usually when we don't need that to happen. Same with the pitching.

    We know there are good arms, but it appears that some of the relievers are not very consistent. Lights out one outing, and wild or hittable the next. Those walks killed us, but not by themselves. We struck out 11 times, but only had 3 walks. Our pitchers gave up 7 walks and only struck out 7. We only gave up 7 hits to our 10 we had off of their pitchers. Better ball control and some better fielding would have made the difference and given us a win.

    Some Weimar guys lived next door in the dorm when I was in college. I think one of them graduated. The others were having too good of a time.

    What kind of sausage is that? I grew up with dad grilling leg quarters, burgers, and occasionally hot dogs too. I don't ever recall a steak being grilled. However, I have some steak and some leg quarters in the fridge right now. 🤣

    Yes indeed. He had a great weekend. I think he had 2 SBs, and it seemed like more. Maybe they could be co-freshmen?

    Good pitching today. Our bats were not great this weekend. Out of the 6 hits we had today, 3 were by Pack. We also had 15 Ks today- way too many.

    See the post on Twitter by Coach Vic about her and the fact she has not been named on any All American teams. It is really heart felt and he spells it out for all of those who cast those votes. She had incredible stats.

    Boo. I did not think he would ever leave there and it is a shame that he didn't. I wish the Astros could have gotten him about 10 years ago. What a great player.

    I hope they get it right so that he can heal better. As commented above, it was painful watching him bat. He was not hitting well, but if you look at the statistics for SEC play 4 or 5 players are doing poorly. A few guys are carrying the team.
