  1. Instead of shuffling the whole infield around, I’d look at moving Gumbo to short and leaving everyone where they’re at. I always thought he was solid defensively but the bat kinda held him back. Just spit balling here but Gumbo is already in the lineup and you have Larson on the bench opens up DH for the young catcher his name escapes me at this moment.
  2. I thought the same thing especially with Burns who right now the second inning of relief has been his kryptonite
  3. Nice response by the guys after the Friday night game. I saw Winter was out this weekend curious how they attack Tuesday. I wouldn't mind seeing Grubbs get the start to see if he can work some things out. We need that guy who can bridge a tight game to the ninth. Cozart looks like he might be able to do that. Would be nice to have another multi inning guy back there.
  4. I remember when people were all over Borba for lack of production after like game 3 of the season
  5. It was a hit and run that was squared up to center. If that ball finds grass or a gap it's2 runs or 1st and 3rd no outs. Unfortunately it was hit right at the centerfielder. I guess you can play safe and go station to station and hope you can put enough hits together. Arod could've just as easily hit into a double play without the steal.
  6. This Team was not going 53-0. Yeah it sucks to lose especially with a lead in the ninth. They were bound to drop a game like this eventually. The offense had way too many K's , and the pitching couldn't hold a lead in the ninth. The guys could've packed it in after they blew the lead in the ninth, but they scraped out a run to send it to extras. Burns came in and shut them down in the eighth but right now he struggles going more then one inning. Ruger not getting out of the fifth changed how Shloss had to use the bullpen. I think the run rule games kinda hurt the bullpen not getting guys innings to figure out who can do what and who can't. Grubbs is most concerning to me last year he'd give you three or four innings to get the game to Volantis. I'm not sure we have another guy who can do that too not only save arms but not having to rely on stretching guys out too long and having to use guys out of their normal role. The guy going for Ole Miss is pretty dam good so Texas needs to bring their A game.
  7. Baylor outfielders have their backs up against the fence. We can't seem to get anything over their heads tonight
  8. Watching on youtube Texas Coastal watch party
  9. Only way CJ would've been high on the bottom of the order is if there was a Mateer hitting 7, 8 or 9
  10. Riojas was moved Into the weekend rotation out of necessity last year. Think the staff would rather use him in more of a stopper role where you bring him into games where the opposition is threading late in the game rather then a closer role at the very end of a game. They can use him multiple innings to close out a game or situational depending on where he is innings wise in a series. Grubbs can also give you multiple innings on the back-end as well. I'm curious to see if they go with a traditional closer or let Riojas and Grubbs close out games in multiple inning outings. The offense feels more versatile where they're not relying on the long ball as much as in previous years. On paper they look like the can score runs in multiple ways. Can't wait for the season to get Hook'em
  11. Bringing Muschamp in was a no brainer for Sark. You have too make the switch. I don’t get why people have to sh*t on PK like he was terrible as a the DC. The guy fielded good defenses on the 40. Sark wanting to field a more attacking aggressive defense shouldn’t take away from the job PK did here on the 40.
  12. I guess the offense specifically the OL who didn’t have a pulse until late in the game gets absolved of any blame for that loss. It was all on PK and the Defense because Simmons was chasing the TE. Give the Offense a pass nice
  13. If you want too be a predominant zone defense then yes makes sense. The question is the younger DB's are more man corners. It looks like their recruiting for man coverage
  14. He's in charge of the secondary not the playcaller. He builds the secondary to fit the overall scheme that Akina didn't come up with. He also had a rag tag unit of backup's playing at the end.
  15. Look at the first drive of the 3rd quarter . They didn't motion much. Either way not going to argue after a great win.
  16. Great win for the Horns well deserved! Seemed like Texas ditched the motion for the most part and lined up and kicked out"s ass; Scary when they put it together
  17. Don't want to see him on the field till he's as close to 100% coming off injury. With college season looking more and more like an NFL season, he could give you that boost down the stretch.
