  1. I saw all I needed to see last game to know Arch is going to be great. That kid fought his heart out and carried his team with toughness and shear will power. I can guarantee you that if his teammates didn’t believe in him they do now.
  2. Where am I wrong?
  3. This is a rebuilding year, we just didn’t know it until now. Yes, we have a talented team with potential, and will get better, but we are not contenders this season. New leaders must emerge and players must further develop. Our line play has much to gain. We have some solid pieces to build on for sure. Arch Manning showed us something today. Let’s recalibrate and improve in all phases. We will be much better as the year progresses. It is what it is.
  4. This is why I tend to try not overindulge in all the pregame prognostications from numerous sources and just watch the game and sit back and try my best to chill (often unsuccessfully). A finite amount of analysis is ok. I allow myself this site and limit that somewhat even. Must preserve the joy of the game. If we are really the best, we will prove it.
  5. I think he only had a partial ligament tear, and the surgeon was a minimally invasive hand surgeon I suspect, so fast healing. We will be ready for him.
  6. Kid has some wheels for second grade.
  7. Could not agree more. He knows how to team build and coach. Love what he has done to build a formidable roster here already and I think we will begin to see the difference this season. He will only build on that moving forward. He has coached numerous conference champions and has had strong success in the dance as well. I love his experience and don’t think coaching here will be too big for him at all. He knows what he is doing. Great hire.
  8. Gundy’s downfall can be directly attributable to cutting his mullet, (the Samson effect). Yep.
  9. Thx Sarah. Hope the ladies bring their usual A game.
  10. Thanks for walking the board back off the ledge. I woke up this morning, the sun came up and realized we are 2-1 and have Sam Houston on the schedule. We now have a team that is no longer at risk of thinking they are "all that" and fully realize they need to get better.
  11. Thanks Sark, but looking for solutions to help you here 😉
  12. I get him with a good sports psychologist and show him film of where he is making good plays and throws. Surround him with positive people. I throw out the bad tape. Try to lower the stress and rebuild his confidence, I keep him off social media and away from the press. Open up a QB competition because that is what he deserves. I rotate him with Caldwell so he does not feel he is the only option. Let him see measured success and let him earn his way back to the starting role.
  13. Mods and members, I think we all realize we have a QB that has not played up to his potential. There has been much said about what the problems are. So instead of complaining, I am curious what your solution is. This week, what is your move to fix this? Do you bench Arch? Rotate him with QB2, run a different scheme?
  14. Sark needs to be prepared to pull Arch. You have to earn your spot and he is presently the wealthiest link.
  15. Yes. My hope is that Arch has the tools to maximize Sark’s offense once he hits his full stride. A more realistic expectation might be that we are a year away.
  16. I think it is partly “relative” inexperience but also coaching. Getting a scheme together that maximizes the success of the players you have on hand and their ability to consistently execute that scheme at a high level. I think our defensive staff has been able to accomplish that better than the offense. Sark at times has tried to force a square peg into a round hole. They still have been good but not consistently great. Arch better suits what he wants to do but his development is still a work in progress. Lets see where we are in 4 or 5 games from now. The key to this season is can the defense keep us winning games long enough to allow our offense to come to full stride?
  17. Amazing how well this young team is playing together this early.
  18. It was a conservative game plan but despite this his offense poorly executed it, which argues that they would have done worse had it not been a conservative approach. His QB1 will progress these next few weeks and we should now have a chip on our shoulder to provide that extra motivation.
  19. The honeymoon is over. After an underwhelming first game, and all the criticism cast on our offense and QB, this team better come out with a sense of urgency and serious chip on its shoulder.
  20. That is what happens when a great player is not rewarded because you just expect that from him. The stats don't lie on this one.
  21. Why no love for Michael Taaffe?
  22. Too small a sample size. Ask the question again in 6 weeks.
