  1. The honeymoon is over. After an underwhelming first game, and all the criticism cast on our offense and QB, this team better come out with a sense of urgency and serious chip on its shoulder.
  2. That is what happens when a great player is not rewarded because you just expect that from him. The stats don't lie on this one.
  3. Why no love for Michael Taaffe?
  4. Too small a sample size. Ask the question again in 6 weeks.
  5. Interesting observation. Yesterday was a maximal test for a young guy who is a new starter. He misfired on some throws he normally easily makes. Was not a total disaster, but clearly he underachieved. I think it all comes down to getting more reps and confidence either way. He should accomplish that the next few weeks and then we will see where he really is in the Swamp.
  6. Grew up a Notre Dame and Texas fan. Like most Catholics in the 60’s we rooted from the Irish but being a Texas boy, Texas was also my team. When the Irish beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl that all changed as I decided I hated ND after that and was all Texas from then on. Attended and graduated from The University as well.
  7. Arch felt the pressure of all the hype and playing in a hostile stadium against a great defense which likely contributed to him missing on several throws (37% of them) he normally makes in his sleep. He is human after all. The talent is there and I am confident he will adjust and do very well. Tough first game . Don’t forget, the last time we played in the shoe it was with a seasoned Vince Young in a game we narrowly pulled out.
  8. OSU executed better in key situations and made less penalties/mistakes. Being the home team played a role as well. We will get much better. We will have the motivation to get better. This loss could be a blessing. We will see.
  9. Two late first round picks for a generational player? No! You give that guy a max contract and keep building around him. Jerry is looking for another Hershel Walker 2.0 trade still...smh.
  10. I know they formerly paid each school 500,000 for the game and possibly part of the gate as well though I am not sure. They renegotiated things a couple of years ago and have not seen the details on that.
  11. I am now in pre-game hype "black-out" mode. No more talk. Let's get the game played and see where the chips fall.
  12. ROJO may not be the best player with that number, but he is certainly the most beloved here.
  13. This is often curable with surgery and I hope Sergio's is. General guidelines if asymptomatic: Start Colon screening at age 45 unless African American which would be age 40 if normal risk. If family history, start 10 years earlier than your family members cancer diagnosis, or 45 whichever comes earlier. Note: Would recommend colonoscopy, not the cologuard stool test as that test misses many precancerous polyps that could someday become cancerous and that is what you want to detect and remove with screening to prevent them from becoming cancer. There is a place for cologuard but it is not considered first line for screening due to its limitations. It is a sedated exam that takes on average 20 minutes to do the exam. Most places have "easy access" where you can schedule it online without a pre-op visit unless you have health issues that could effect your anesthesia risk (heart disease, lung disease, blood thinners, etc).
  14. These games provide that extra motivation to the players to work harder and prepare with full intensity coming out of the blocks.
  15. So glad it is here. Can't imagine how tough it has been for you guys trying to come up with new topics every day. Let the new season begin!
  16. Sam is pure class-> https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/news/sam-ehlinger-preseason-finale-roster-cutdown
  17. "Better athletes"? Overall I think both teams are very athletic some better than others depending on position group. I think we will be able to run the ball if they sell out to that alignment. We also have a mobile QB and so they will be prone to the scramble if they commit everyone to pass defense, unlike last year. I think we will be OK.
  18. Jim Davis--> https://president.utexas.edu/about-president/
  19. This is a toss-up at their place. I hope we are as ready as we seem to be. Won't make or break either team's season though but would love the momentum gained by winning this game.
  20. Sorry these two had to have same number as I think they are both legends but got to go with Colt here for his time on the 40.
  21. I would but hoping we reach our ceiling. To be honest I look at next year as the year we should take it all but I am hopeful Arch and our O line can get it going on a dime and not go through the normal hiccups of a first year starter. Time will tell.
  22. I'm in the office usually before 0400 (and home by 1600). Lifelong habit of growing up the son of a farmer ;-).
  23. I like the burnt orange one with the logo the best.
