Okay obviously Texas is going to attack the portal this offseason, but what position do we need the most besides offensive line? Also who do you think will end up staying rather than leave to the draft? My wish is that Ant Hill stays one more year because we will sure need him but that will most likely not happen. But I think we can’t afford to lose people like Goosby and McDonald yet to the draft. I’m curious who stays.

This guy gets it!! Applause for you sir. -
(This is all eye test based, no mathematics are involved lol) Okay obviously Texas will most likely not get into the playoffs this season after the chaos didn't go our way, but we still just maybe might have a sliver of hope to get in after conference championship week. I know this is a shot in the dark, but say Alabama and BYU both lose next week, that virtually opens up one more at large bid assuming Virginia can beat 7-5 Duke to become ACC champions and get a bid for the playoffs. Also if Ohio State beats Indiana it would only boost our chances to be in. So, this in my opinion would be the seeding after next week, 1. OSU 2. Georgia 3. Indiana 4. Texas Tech 5. Oregon 6. A&M 7. Ole Miss 8. Oklahoma 9. Norte Dame 10. Texas 11. Virginia 12. North Texas. Some articles say even if Alabama (10-3) loses they most likely get the last nod over BYU (11-2), Miami (10-2), Vanderbilt (10-2), and Texas (9-3). In a way I can see how the committee has every right not to put us in after finishing 9-3, but like coach Sark said it would be a disservice to the sport. It would virtually mean wins and losses are the most important aspect when it comes to the playoff. Texas in my honest opinion would dog walk every team competing for the final spot. But, because they have more losses the committee and the CFB world doesn't seem to believe so. Anyways like I said it's a shot in the dark, probably wont happen. Just glad we finished the regular season on a good note and hopefully smother whoever we get scheduled to play in our bowl game. Hook'Em.

I also wanted to share my opinion on how i really think this team is almost identical to the Texas team of 2022. New starting Qb, a bunch of young Olinemen, young receivers, lots of expectations and a whole lot more disappointment. I hope the next few years go better then the two that followed 2022, just need to figure out the main issue (coaching). Hook’Em!

Well Texas loses another one this season basically getting embarrassed coaching wise. I mean you have two weeks to get ready, and it’s just not there man. This was just simply disastrous. There’s no excuse to have as much talent as Texas has and go into a do or die game and commit as much penalty’s as they did. It’s just really painful to watch. I really don’t know personally the solution for all of this. All I know is that this team is really young and absolutely will get better, but there needs to be accountability for everyone in this program. It seems like there was no standard being set this year. It’s a shame too see guys like Ant Hill and Taffee go out this way. I mean there’s a chance Hill comes back but I hope he doesn’t. He’s done his job here, the coaching just hasn’t delivered and helped him become a champion. So, what is the solution to this mess? Is it a new head coach? Offensive Coordinator? Wide Receivers coach? New players? I just don’t know. All I hope for is that Texas wins out and goes into the offseason with positive momentum. That’s the only thing that will make this team better. Hook’Em.

I know we’re a long way from this scenario with much left to prove. If Texas was to win out, what would the scenario be to get us into the championship game assuming Alabama and Ole Miss win out, which is very possible since they have a fairly easy rest of the year.

Well injuries aren’t fun as we could tell in that fourth quarter, but I can’t believe that the talent the secondary has could give up that much yards on Vandys final two drives without having prevent being called the whole time. I understand it’s a no brainer to play prevent when the other team is in desperation mode, but in my opinion if i’m PK at some point you have to call something else that isn’t going to give up 15-20 yards every throw down the seam. So in my opinion i’m not too worried about this secondary going forward. These next two weeks will be much needed resting time for this team. On to Athens we go with a much healthier team God willing. Hook’Em and happy Saturday fellas!

I don’t know if anyone has said anything about this but is there any chance we get Bryant?

One of the worst games i’ve ever seen Texas play. I thought it couldn’t get worse than the Florida or OKST game.

Another cool nugget is that this is the first time in 10 years Texas beat Oklahoma wearing burnt orange. Also the first time in 16 years Texas has one in back to back years. -
Alright obviously something needs to change and needs to change fast. I don’t know what the solution will be and how good of a solution we will see come Saturday but there has to be something positive coming out of it. I mean even if the running backs as a whole manage to get 60 plus yards Saturday, which is still pretty pitiful, it will be an improvement that needs to happen. I don’t know if they change personnel or if that’s even the problem with the line. They just look like they don’t give a rats ass to be physical. I don’t know if this game was a fluke because there has been some signs of life in our line, but if memory serves correct I remember Cole Hutson and DJ Campbell bullying the Alabama front in there sophomore seasons. Where did that fire and intensity go? Those two should be the undoubtedly the BEST we have right now on the line and I’m not saying they aren’t because half the time I see Hutson on someone or on the ground by himself and Campbell trying to fight someone down the field. So they still have that fire in them without a doubt but they need to translate that to their younger teammates on the line especially the Left Guard position which still remains the BIGGEST AND MOST promblematic position of this offensive. I honestly feel once they get that problem solved and I hope it’s fast, the offense WILL be better. Now onto the running backs. No one can create space for themselves. I know it is a banged up room right now and inexperienced and the line isn’t helping at all with those problems, but I know for a fact these players are too talented to not be patient enough to hit holes and just run outside to traffic. Again I do think most of the run games problems are to do with line play but it is still not nowhere near acceptable for Texas’ standard. Hopefully we see signs of life and emotion against OU, and I truly think we will. These players are too damn talented not too. Hook’Em!

Arch is still not performing up to standards. Sure his standards are extremely high, but he isn’t even playing up to 20 percent of that right now. The only glimpse we’ve seen of his true potential was flashes in the 4th quarter against OSU, and the second quarter against SJSU. It seems like the pressure gets to him before every game and every series when the offense isn’t rolling. This is a big problem. The solution in my opinion is make him throw that ball 50 times next week. Make him be uncomfortable. Make him be so uncomfortable it’s not uncomfortable anymore. He has to get used to the fact that he isn’t going to be perfect and just play his game, because when he does, he’s a hell of a quarterback. Sure there’s a lot of other problems with the offense right now, but when your main contributor isn’t doing anything to help those problems you got to fix the biggest problem first. The line will mesh as the season goes on. The running backs will be fine especially with Wisner and God willing Baxter back healthy. The younger guys showed flashes today of what they can do especially Simon. Now the receivers just need that game with Arch to get in their groove. Once this gets figured out hopefully the execution and mental errors drift away. Hook’ Em!

I totally agree with you but Oregon doesn’t get nearly the amount of national hate and pressure that Texas gets which I believe contributes a whole lot to how these guys play and coach. Especially Arch and the offense. Still, it’s an issue that needs to be inexcusable and hopefully when they go into the swamp and hopefully beat Florida, I think some of that pressure will come off. They just have to win one big one and they’ll have a weight lifted off of them and play like they’re expected too play.

Well the fairy tale start for Arch’s career didn’t happen, and rightfully so. I don’t think there’s a quarterback in the country who has this amount of pressure on them like Arch does and go into the Shoe and beat Ohio State. Ohio State still has an amazing defense, but our offense didn’t do much to make that seem otherwise besides that last couple minutes of the game and on the ground which was a pleasant surprise. It always stinks playing such a huge game to start off the season and lose because people tend to give up on you so early, but this Texas team is gonna to be just fine. They’re a great football team that just needs to workout their kinks. These next four weeks should spark this team backup and get them ready for another hostile environment when they go to the swap “where the season really begins”. All this team needs to do is fix that dang red zone efficiency. We win the game if we score on 2 of the 3 times we got there this game, even if that’s Sark letting the team take an easy three. Down the season I think we need to take our points when we have them and keep the momentum up. That doesn’t mean stop being aggressive down there but once we figure out a solid solution to score in close yardage I say take our points. Lastly this defense is once again championship caliber. This season is gonna be a fun one and I have a feeling we’ll see OSU again. HOOK’EM everyone enjoy your weekends.
