    Money isn't unlimited....I'd argue the money it would cost to bring him back would be better suited building the team for next year. We are going to need to greatly improve all around on the roster to compete in the SEC. Also David Pierce hasn't fared well vs SEC competition in his time at Texas.

    If Cam Rising makes it through a season healthy then Utah will be very very good! I think MIchigan, FSU, LSU take a big step back Penn State is exactly where they should be that 8/9 to 14/15 range until they can prove it otherwise. Clemson is ranked too high Tennessee is adequately ranked and could be pretty good this year. Also not sure why USC deserves a ranking at this time.

    Being elite and winning titles is what separates great teams from elite teams. Plain and simple. If you don't win titles you shouldn't be considered elite. What you're describing is a good to great team, not an elite team. Notre Dame under Brian Kelly was good to great. Oregon in the 2010s was good to great Oklahoma in that same time period was good to great. None of the above I'd consider elite. Elite teams during that time period were Bama, Clemson, and Ohio St.

    I wish we would have done what LSU does for the SEC logo. I think it looks better on the jersey especially come bowl season when you put bowl patches.

    I feel like the "TEXAS" lettering looks a little lower which may make it look better with the SEC logo?

    But what if you have no titles to show? IMO winning a national title is what truly makes you elite. If you get to your achieved goal and have nothing to show for it then you're just underachieving. Do you currently consider Penn State elite?

    I don’t think 9-3 makes playoff. Similar to in the 4 team playoff a 2 loss team is death wish and never made it. 10-2 should be the standard. The difference between really good and elite will be determined if there is ever another undefeated national champion or 1 loss national champion. While a team could be a 2 loss national champion I think that would be considered very good team.

    In the old days they would have bought Williams....in the landscape of NIL LSU cannot keep up. If it wasn't for Marucci for baseball they'd be screwed there too.

    In the 3 and done day I can't see it being broken. Only possible way I think is with the CFB schedule including playoffs 16-17 games MAYBE. His career record could be broken IMO especially with the above mentioned scenario for the single season.

    It's a completely voluntary school and not state run so long as you want to pay they will take you, to my knowledge. The subsidized athletes may be another story.

    I believe they also subsidize less fortunate attendees cost.

    Keep it clean and fun....that's the environment that allows growth! And hopefully this board, outside of the Gerry command center picture, doesn't pick up lame memes that other boards have such as "On Player X." Love the board, love the content. Keep up the great work guys

    It will still require NIL even if the schools can pay. Anyone who chooses not to compete in NIL alongside school payments would be falling behind.

    I really like Lacey and from a prospect standpoint Russell isn't far behind. I feel the key for DK Moore is getting Russell so I tend to go with Russell over Lacey for that aspect.
