  1. It's a combination of stuff but he misses a lot of throws in the endzones and redzone because he tries to throw to spots on floaters. The only time he uses his arm IMO are on 1 read designed throws to receivers on whips our outs. You watch a lot of football and you see QBs always threading needles with arm strength in tight windows to get touchdowns. I just think if he doesn't have his first read in the redzone he doesn't know what to do. I think he severely lacks processing power needed to be a really good QB.
  2. Quinn is what he is at this point though. We have his entire time at Texas save a handful of games where he is just absolutely dreadful in the red zone regardless of positive or negatives once we enter there. We were in the bottom 1/4 of teams last season in red zone efficiency and over the back half of this season I'd imagine we were the same.
  3. This is our depth next season. Gullette is the great unknown if he will stay with program or progress enough to be a contributor. So outside of Hill, Lefau, and Smith we basically only have 2 true freshmen. My question would be do we only need 1 LB from portal or should we get 2 for depth purposes?
  4. Keep Klub in the pocket, don't let him beat you with his legs....that's the key.
  5. It’s because Quinn is a 1 read QB
  6. Heard him and Big Bill are really good friends.....
  7. I don't think one has entered that I'd truly go after yet. Oatis isn't good and has regressed....he'll be ranked high in portal simply based of his HS ranking.
  8. Yup, he always says we should do XYZ after the fact but when it comes to it he never does. If Arch isn’t getting 10-20 snaps vs Clemson especially in the red zone that’s failure from Sark imo
  9. And that won’t cut it when trying to win a national championship in the playoff.
  10. Why don’t we? It’s the easiest way to upgrade that position with experience
  11. ND, Clemson, Oregon, Penn St, Ohio State, Bama, and Tennessee all have really good fronts.
  12. Surely after 9 weeks of wishing this it will come true.
  13. And beck has led them to victories in multiple games including games where they have trailed. Has Quinn?
  14. Beck is most certainly a better pick than Quinn for the NFL.
  15. I’d bet Beck is selected before Quinn.
  16. Vs Kentucky he was injured and so ineffective we had no choice but to run. Giving up a touchdown on a fumble. vs Arkansas he was ineffective so we had to run vs Vandy he was ineffective and we didn’t really move the ball rushing either. vs A&M he was ineffective and we had to run. Including two turnovers and throwing a pick 6 He’s been god awful in second half of games down the stretch of the last 6 games with or without context.
  17. A truly good QB shouldn’t need the most perfect of circumstances or situations to be successful.
  18. The o line was clicking vs Arkansas and A&M and the struggles were there including turnovers.
  19. I saw this on another site but it’s not for red zone but rather second half. When you pair his red zone struggles with second half struggles it’s really bad performance.
  20. Everything leading up to today is rankings for a tv show and to get engagement. Today is about seeding for a playoff. Don’t conflate those two things.
  21. That’s not necessarily true with how they have the tie ins for byes. If it was truly based on rankings then Arizona st and Boise state wouldn’t be 3/4. I think they’ll present the bracket in a way that seeds similar to cbb selections then will do like a first 4 out kind of thing.
  22. Arizona St is the 4 seed. I said in the other thread these rankings today will reflect seeding, not rankings imo. The South Carolina team didn’t play or win a conference championship
