  1. Exactly!!! Hook em’. It’s been a long drought with mediocre coaching since 2010. I’ll take this all day long!! I bet Oregon wishes they were in our shoes right now. So does Bama and Michigan and about 110 other universities. Enjoy the moment instead of writing ‘hate pieces’.
  2. Incredible year for the Horns! Big congrats to Colin Simmons!
  3. Great article. Worthy landed in the perfect situation and is on a great trajectory. Hook em!!
  4. Quinn and the offense continue the trend of improving good health so we can be at full strength and beginning to peak at right time of year. Defense got the wake up call they needed with Cade ripping apart our secondary. We will run 250 yds and throw for 250 yds while scoring 42 points and holding ASU to 20 points on 140 yds rushing and 90 yds passing.
  5. Agree. Had the same feeling after I posted.
  6. It’s basically a pick em in either scenario. In this model, Texas would be 1.5pt favorite against Oregon and a 1.5pt dog against the Buckeyes. https://www.on3.com/pro/news/college-football-playoff-odds-early-point-spreads-released-on-potential-cfp-semifinal-matchups/
  7. Klatt’s podcast yesterday talked about his twitter exchange with Kiffin. Pretty funny. Makes a good point re: first round blowouts in NFL wildcard round as well. In summary: 1) College Football has never been better and more fun to watch, 2) Home field advantage is real, 3) Lots of things that can still be tweaked to make college football and playoffs even better (eg. seeding based on best teams, more home playoff games, portal schedule moved to the spring, etc), 4) More teams have a shot at gettting into national championship which has made regular season more interesting, 5) Lots to learn from the NFL 6) Even with the opportunity to improve college football further, enjoy what’s happening now. First year. Let it play out. It’s awesome!
  8. Good question. Good to see Alfred Collins and Michael Taaffe get some love with recognition on second team AP All American.
  9. By comparison to the 2 longhorns on first team and 3 longhorns who made second team for a total of 5 longhorns making AP All-American first two teams, here are a few other teams of note: Alabama - 0 players on first team and 2 players on second team Georgia - 0 players on first team and 2 players on second team OU - 0 players on first team and 1 player on second team Texas A&M - 0 players on first and second team Hook em!!
  10. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/43005095/travis-hunter-ashton-jeanty-headline-ap-all-america-team Kelvin Banks and Jahdae Barron are 2 of the 6 SEC players to make First Team AP All American. Alfred Collins, Anthony Hill and Michael Taaffe all three made the 2nd Team AP All American. Love seeing that Michael Taaffe got some respect on the AP All American voting. Hook em!!!!

  12. Agree. May is always a slow time of year after teams break following spring scrimmage. Think about how much more valuable it would be if each kid got a full assessment of where they’re at after finishing spring ball and then they decided if a jump in the portal made sense. This also lets the kids finish out spring semester, complete course work and plan for transition in the summer and this simplified portal schedule would allow all coaches and teams put focus in December on playoffs / bowl games. I really hope they make this change and soon.
  13. It’s crazy / insane that players are jumping into the portal when their team is about to start playoff run. This has to get addressed soon by conf commissioners to help improve roster stability at pivotal time of year. I liked Joel Klatt’s recent suggestion that they should move to only have 1 Portal Window and make it the month of May. That lets coaches and all players (new EE recruits and veterans) see how they stack up after spring ball. Make the month of May ‘free agency’ then from June (when portal transfers and summer enrollees join the team) through January (when EEs join the team) there is complete stability with no team hopping. Decisions can be thoughtful after full offseason and not made on emotion in the moment while season is still ongoing for some. The one exception to this would be when head coach leaves, players get 1 month to jump into portal if they choose. can you imagine starters or backups on an NFL team about to start playoffs being able to go into free agency and leave their team before the playoffs start. Makes absolutely no sense for the game. Curious what others prefer? Hook em!
  14. Awesome read. Rooting for CJ to make it all the way back. 100% class, work ethic, attitude, leads by example. Represents UT the right way. This has to fire up his teammates. Hook em’
  15. Loving the future of our QB1, passing and running. Unbelievably fast. Looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds and just as excited for 2025 and 2026. Exciting times in Austin. Hook em!! https://athlonsports.com/college-football/stunning-speed-stat-puts-texas-qb-arch-manning-faster-than-dolphins-star-tyreek-hill
  16. Enjoy while we can. Keep the hunger and enjoying each week. Fun knowing it looks like we have 2 legit QB1, which we are likely to need at multiple times over the next 4 months. Hook em!!!
  17. 3rd and 1 for Tulane. Throws int instead of simply running for first. Giving OU the win with those calls. Come on man! Would love to see Sooners with 2 losses before end of Sept. hook em!
  18. Reed looks much more natural at QB - explosive as a runner and accurate passer in first quarter for A&M. Good decisions. No comparison as Weigman has looked off both his games so far. Seems like Lagway better get in soon for Florida or this game could get lopsided by halftime.
  19. Hope we keep foot all the way down on gas in 2nd half. Struggle last year to put teams away, let big leads become too close for comfort. #AllGasNoBrakes
  20. Omg, 2 TDs in Worthy’s first game. Awesome!!
  21. https://www.on3.com/os/news/predicting-the-top-10-most-watched-games-of-the-college-football-season/ Interesting to see Horns games against Michigan. OU and A&M make Top 10 ‘Most Watched on TV’ predicted list before the season starts. Texas dominates the list. What’s crazy is that Texas v Georgia isn’t even on this Top 10 list. If the Dawgs take care of Clemson and survive Bama….and the Horns beat Michigan and OU, this will pit #1 v #3 in the country and would seem to be a clear Top 5 most watched game in 2024. Lots of ifs and time will tell, hook em!

  22. Really scary. Good news at the hospital. Hope he fully recovers. https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-rb-donta-foreman-taken-to-medical-facility-via-helicopter-following-practice-injury
  23. Great write-up and video. Our offense is going to be crazy deep this year at every position. Exciting.
  24. Assuming we get Townsend next week, I hope we take MT at WR. As a 5-star freak of an athlete, let the man come prove himself at WR and if a transition to defense is warranted after year 1, they can always have that as an option. Bottom line is we need him in this class IMO. Not enough high-end 5-stars in this years class. Hope we find a way to make it work.
  25. Michael Terry could be an awesome addition with the Horns as either a super athletic TE or as a complete mismatch at WR against smaller DBs. Really hope we get him on board. Everything I keep reading about him suggests he could be a huge addition on offense. Hook Em'. As I was thinking about the LJH comparison, it's interesting to go back and see how Lil Jordan Humphrey was only a 3-star athlete coming out of HS yet he went on to have one of the best ever seasons for UT as a junior. Defenses couldn't stop him. He was too big at WR. With as fast and big as Terry is, think he could be even more impactful. Look forward to seeing how his recruiting path unfolds. Hope it's with the horns!! Hook Em!!
