The only bowl game I was ever directly associated with was our 1991 game versus Miami. The number one lesson learned is keep focus on the task at hand. we had not been to a Cotton Bowl since the 1984 game versus Georgia. Many of the guys had the attitude “We are happy to be here” The team was more interested in things like “what color of shoes are we going to wear”. For me, it is the guys who spend too much time promoting themselves on social media. As much as I was excited about the possibility of getting Evan Stewart a few years ago, it didn't take me long to tire of his constant self-promotion. IF you are great, others will promote you. Another huge red flag for me would be a guy who already has a criminal record in high school. I think Texas does a great job of vetting these types but other programs seem to attract them....Georgia. For the record, we should stay away from recruits with butterfly tattoos on their elbow. I side with CJ on this.
