  1. I’m no expert, but I’ve watched enough to know Jahdae Barron is the real deal. He plays with control, intelligence, and edge—he doesn’t just fly around hoping to make a play, he knows where the ball’s going. Put that next to Pat Surtain II, who already plays like a seasoned vet with the calm confidence of a shutdown guy, and you’ve got something serious forming in Denver. What makes both of them special isn’t just their physical talent—it’s their awareness and their psyche. They diagnose plays quickly, rarely get caught out of position, and they don’t panic. They trust their technique. Their football IQ is high, but so is their discipline. No wasted steps. No freelancing unless they know they’ve got it. That kind of mental sharpness at corner is rare—and when you have two guys like that in one secondary? That’s a problem for any offense. And don’t underestimate how much their presence impacts the rest of the room. When you’ve got two DBs who show up early, study film relentlessly, and hold themselves to a standard every rep, it rubs off. It pushes the young guys. It challenges the vets. That work ethic becomes contagious, and suddenly you’re not just developing players—you’re building a culture. A standard. There’s no way either Barron or PS2 fails. They won’t allow it. And if Denver leans into that mentality and builds around it? This could quietly become one of the most disciplined, hardest-hitting, smartest secondaries in the league.

  8. Additionally.....what caliber of player could yall see entering the portal at the end of the season?
  9. With Texas sitting strong at 7-1 and still in the heat of the season, it's not too early to consider how the portal might shape our roster for 2025. With most of our starting O-line likely to be drafted, depth needed at cornerback, and potential gaps at linebacker, which positions should we target?
  10. As someone who was born that year, I really appreciate posts like this.
