  1. Johntay Cook must not understand how well Steve Sarkisian is connected and respected in college and pro football. He is seriously burning bridges
  2. Fair enough- although I think UGA’s schedule strength is very well documented. UGA for sure has had the toughest schedule of anyone in the country. My overall point though: MSU’s SOS is stronger than CU’s and it’s not close. And I’m sure there are other instances of that in the SOS rankings. Which makes the disturbingly common argument “the committee should favor SOS over overall record” that much more worrisome, when there are clear flaws in the outlooks and formulas for determining SOS.
  3. That matches reality significantly more. Colorado has gotten a bump from their bowl game, but before ESPN had their SOS as the second easiest of any P4 ahead of only UNC. Which makes total sense- CU had the easiest schedule of any team in the second to worst P4 conference and UNC had the easiest schedule in the worst P4 conference.
  4. Even this one- there is no chance in hell Colorado had the 26th toughest schedule or had a schedule tougher than Michigan State. The hardest games you can play are against playoff teams, ranked teams and/or the top teams in your conference. I repeat: Colorado played zero playoff teams, one ranked team and dodged all three of the three best Big12 teams. Michigan State played THREE PLAYOFF TEAMS and 6 of the best 7 Big10 teams. I haven’t exhaustively looked, but I’m fairly confident no other team in the country played more CFP teams than MSU. The fact that there isn’t a big gap between CU and MSU’s SOS in this ranking proves my point: there should be a big gap! MSU’s SOS was leaps and bounds tougher than CU’s. ESPN’s SOS gets it right: has Colorado the 2nd worst SOS of any P4 ahead of only UNC.
  5. ESPN has Colorado’s SOS at 77th- 2nd lowest of any P4 program ahead of only North Carolina. Looking at North Carolina’s SOS and how close almost all of their losses were, it’s tempting to say that they likely would have been a CFP team with a healthy QB1. Mack Brown has to be one of the most unlucky coaches ever when it comes to key injuries and situations working out against him. Like he sold his soul to the devil for that 2005 championship or something.
  6. Any SOS ranking that has Colorado’s SOS higher than Michigan State’s is only good for wiping your butt with. Take for example this one: https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/schedule-strength-by-other Has Colorado’s SOS (“44th”) higher than Michigan State’s (“59th”). Colorado played 0 of the Big12’s top 3 teams. 6 of the Big12’s bottom 7 teams. One ranked team all season (KSU, lost). Their toughest OOC opponent was the Big10’s 13th best team (Neb, lost big). Played 0 teams that made the CFP. Meanwhile, Michigan State played 6 of the Big10’s best 7 teams (3 of which made the CFP). Truly egregious.
  7. Look at Colorado’s conference schedule. Two thirds of their conference schedule came against 6 of the worst 7 teams in conference (bottom 7 minus Houston). Their other 3 games were against KSU, Baylor and TTech. Lost outright to KSU, Baylor choked the game away on a last second CU Hail Mary where BU decided to only rush 3 against CU’s porous OL. TTech’s defense couldn’t stop a pop warner offense. Then there’s the whole 28-10 dismantling by the Big10’s 13th best team. Colorado is most certainly a fraud. The most fraudulent 9 win team in college football without a doubt.
  8. I’ve always wondered how dumb someone has to be to try to punch someone with a football helmet on 🤦‍♂️
  9. Ultra-compelling football on the CW
  10. 4-2 is the record of the 6 bowl eligible teams we’ve played that have played their bowl games so far. The two losses are OU and TAMU. I’ll take it! We still have CSU vs M-OH tomorrow and MICH vs Bama on 12/31. Hopefully they can make it 6-2
  11. Iowa State has the 100th ranked rush defense in the country- ASU was a bad matchup for them. We have the 9th ranked rush defense. ISU also gave ASU a ton of short fields to start the second half. ASU scored 3 TDs back to back to open the second half, all 3 on drives shorter than 44 yds
  12. Texas is the only team in the CFP that has the potential opportunity to beat all power 4 champs: -ACC round one -Big12 quarterfinals -B1G semifinals -SEC finals (or best of the independents) Would be a cool accomplishment
  13. Few better stories in CFB! Hope he accomplishes everything he sets his mind to. Would love to see him as a coach for Texas (maybe HC) in the future
  14. I was at UT from 2011 through 2014. They played a montage of Longhorn moments before every game during that period and Freddie Steinmark was in it. That was how I learned about him
  15. Defense was penetrating all game
  16. Would be pretty cool for Sark to say “hold my beer” and wind up with two 1000 yd rushers after early doubts of him having even one this season
  17. On the other side of the bracket: Notre Dame beats Gunnar Stockton-led UGA and subsequently beats PSU. On our side: Take care of business vs ASU and hope to catch an emotionally/physically drained winner of the Rose Bowl looking ahead to the title game. Of the P4 programs on the other side of the bracket, I think we match up best with ND.
  18. I see, low reading comprehension. Checks out
  19. Based on the way Ohio State played last night, I’d say multiple of their receivers could be a problem for Muhammad if he doesn’t play at higher level than he did yesterday. I do think that Howard is good enough to hit his receivers with reasonably accurate balls if they get a modest amount of separation. And Ohio State’s receivers are certainly better than Clemson’s. Ohio State’s WR corps is Top 2 in the country, if not #1. The one thing- Howard does have more of a penchant for throwing INTs than Klubnik. And I think Klubnik has a better clutch gene than Howard. Dillon Gabriel, on the other hand, is essentially a better version of Klubnik. Pretty similar styles
  20. Some of the passes were placed where only the WR could catch it because the WR had gotten past Muhammad. Like I’ve said in previous replies, I have faith that he can play better and get better. However, if we’re replacing Barron with Muhammad, that’s replacing a guy who has a knack for making more plays (INTs, TFLs, etc) than giving up big plays with a guy that I’m seeing giving up more big plays than he’s making. Again, not saying improvement in the short term or long term is impossible or even unlikely. Just saying that we will be in trouble if Muhammad struggles like that vs Oregon or Ohio State.
  21. Fair enough, but I do think his performance will be something to watch in those games. It will be what I’m most concerned about on defense for us. Really every defender on the field for us has made splash plays for us this year except Muhammad. I believe he can rise to the challenge and play better, I just hope that he does. I know a lot of the situations of him potentially looking “worse” than last year are teams targeting him more rather than throwing at Barron.
  22. I honestly think Skattebo and ASU’s ground game is overrated. Skattebo has gone over 200 yds rushing one time on the season (against Mississippi State). Been held under 100 yds rushing 6 times this season. Dude isn’t anything our swarming defense can’t handle. ASU hasn’t seen a defense close to as good as our’s all year. now, I will for sure be pissed if this comment comes back to bite me. But if we let Skattebo run all over us and carry ASU to a W, we obviously don’t deserve to play in the later rounds of the playoffs.
  23. That’s what I saw as well and what I’m worried about. Oregon and Ohio State have two of the best WR corps in the nation.
  24. Do you not think it will be problematic if he plays at yesterday’s level against Oregon or Ohio State?
