    Texas left tackle Kelvin Banks has been added to the 2024 Outland Award Watch List. This of course was the award DL T'Vondre Sweat won in 2023 for the Longhorns. And yes, tackles count as interior linemen for the award.

    Texas QB Quinn Ewers has been listed to the 2024 Preseason Watch list for the Maxwell Award – given annually to the best all-around player in the country. Michael Penix Jr. won the award in 2023 and Caleb Williams won in 2022. Just the first of many preseason award watch lists to come for the Texas quarterback.

    2026 Saraland (Ala.) DL Antonio Coleman has flipped from Auburn to Alabama. (Again). Coleman accompanied KJ Lacey on the visit to Texas this past weekend. I’m sure this one still has plenty to go.

    2026 Hun School EDGE Luke Wafle just left Texas. Said the Longhorns are standing out in his recruitment. Says Coach Flood came to his school in the spring, then he reached out to visit and got the job done. Wafle has a Texas Football sitting in his house in NJ as well. I think the Longhorns are in a sneaky good spot here. One of his most notable takeaways is the DC Kwiatkowski being his specific position coach.
