  1. Sarkisian looking ahead to the Kentucky game this weekend: "To me, this is the biggest game of the football season."
  2. Sarkisian says he loves what the defense is doing so far this season. Shouts out Joseph and Gideon for the way the secondary has played this season. "Kenny Baker, what an addition he has been."
  3. Sarkisian says he is really appreciative of the guys who he did not recruit, but stuck around in the program and bought in. Mentioned Jake Majors, Jahdae Barron, Alfred Collins, Gunnar Helm, Barryn Sorrell, Vernon Broughton. "I am very grateful and thankful for them."
  4. Sarkisian says he told the team he believes this is the biggest game of the season coming up against Kentucky.
  5. Sarkisian says Alfred Collins is not getting the national respect he deserves for his performance this season.
  6. "Awesome win on the road Saturday. I think in the SEC conference, going on the road and getting a win is really challenging." Sarkisian in his statement. Texas is the only undefeated team on the road in conference play.
  7. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is on the podium to recap the Arkansas win and to look ahead to the Kentucky matchup on Saturday at DKR. The Longhorns and Wildcats will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. in the final regular season home game of the season. Notes and quotes in the comments down below.
  8. Texas CB Jahdae Barron has been named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Razorbacks on Saturday. Barron finished with seven tackles, two TFLs, a sack and an interception. *** On the offensive line, left guard Hayden Conner becomes the fourth Longhorn offensive lineman to receive weekly Honors from the SEC. Conner was named the Co-SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week. Per PFF, Conner did not allow a pressure in 36 pass protection snaps. *** Texas defensive lineman Alfred Collins was also named to the SEC Honors for the week 12 slate. Collins had a sack and a forced fumble that helped seal the deal for the Longhorns in the fourth quarter. Quite the list of accolades for the Longhorns after the trip to Fayetteville.
  9. Graded out rather solid.
  10. A quick rundown of the snap counts for the offense and defense against Arkansas. *** Offense Out of 73 total snaps against the Razorbacks. 73 – Quinn Ewers, Kelvin Banks, Jake Majors, Cameron Williams, Hayden Conner, Gunnar Helm 56 – Matthew Golden 51 – DJ Campbell 44 – Ryan Wingo 42 –Isaiah Bond 40 – Jaydon Blue, Juan Davis 35 – Tre Wisner 25 – Silas Bolden 22 – Cole Hutson 5 – DeAndre Moore 3 – Colin Page 2 – Ryan Niblett – First noteworthy takeaway is DeAndre Moore with just five snaps on Saturday. I don't beleive there was an injury, and I don't necessarily think the drops from the Florida game are the reason either. I do think the answer for why there was shortage of snaps for Moore can be found when looking at Juan Davis' snap count. That's a season high 40 snaps for Davis. Texas stayed in 12 personnel a lot on Saturday to combat the 3-high look from Arkansas. – Ryan Wingo outsnapped Isaiah Bond, but did not record a reception. *** Defense Out of 60 possible defensive snaps: 59 – Jahdae Barron 54 – Anthony Hill Jr. 51 – Jaylon Guilbeau 47 – Malik Muhammad 43 – Michael Taaffe 42 – Trey Moore 41 – Barryn Sorrell 40 – Andrew Mukuba 37 – Jelani McDonald 36 – Liona Lefau 35 – Vernon Broughton 34 – Colin Simmons 33 – Alfred Collins 29 – Jermayne Lole 20 – Ethan Burke 14 – Bill Norton, Gavin Holmes 12 – Kobe Black 9 – TyAnthony Smith 7 – David Gbenda 3 – Alex January – Jahdae only sat for one snap on Saturday. But more impressive than that, he spent 12 snaps in the box, 4 snaps in the slot and the other 41 out wide at cornerback. He was everywhere. – Guilbeau is going to be on Barron path if I had to bet next year. Very impactful. –Only 33 snaps from Alfred Collins, but man did he make the most of them. Again, he was the highest graded player for the Longhorns on Saturday vs. Arkansas.

  13. I asked Jaydon Blue about the grass thickness. I didn’t get the sense it was an issue for anyone on the field despite the TV broadcast making it a bit of a big deal.
  14. RB Tre Wisner: “So far every game is the SEC Championship, we said that coming into the season.”
  15. Sarkisian says the staff knew that there would be adjustments from the Arkansas D coming out of the bye.
  16. Defensively, Sark says the defense is making opponents earn everything. There isn't a lot of busts and as a result, it forces opposing offenses to earn every yard.
  17. Sarkisian says there is a lot of pride on the defensive side of the ball right now.
  18. Sarkisian on Quinn Ewers: "I thought he played pretty efficiently." Says the offense needs to maximize opportunities when the drives are limited. Was pleased with the late TD drive and the conversion to ice the game.
  19. Sarkisian says the offense being able to rely on the veterans is key. Ewers, Banks, Majors etc.
  20. Texas did not turn the ball over today. Won the battle 2-0. "The football gods were on our side with the fumble by Blue."
  21. Sarkisian says Texas is lightyears from where they were from three years ago, but that the locker room is not content.
