  1. Let’s not pretend we weren’t a part of the problem with the ill-conceived Longhorn Network. A general truth in life is that anytime someone becomes passionate about something they will spend time and money to try and get better at it or do it more often. The media has over the last 30 years taken advantage of what used to be one of the more pure athletic endeavors in college football. When the athletes saw how much the schools were making from ESPN and CBS and Fox deals, they wanted their cut. The old lie we told ourselves that football supported the academics is an old wives tale now. For better or worse we are living in a free market system where money is going to either turn college football into another version of the NFL or there will be some kind of return to the old school feeling that college football is more pure than pro sports. I don’t know if we can put the toothpaste back in the tube, but at least Campbell is trying. And don’t think for a minute we don’t have plenty of billionaire supporters too. We just dont hear about what they are doing publicly. This has been one of the more interesting threads ion OTF I’ve seen and I enjoy the spirited debate I could use a little less of the ad hominems and petty bickering though . The billionaires are not taking notes from us. 🤘🤘🤘
  2. Bobby Thank you for the well written description of what is happening. I think Campbell is right. Trying to label what he is doing as socialism or self serving is silly and fallacious. These are economic facts and the way NFL teams have for years financed their stadiums is worse than socialism—it is funneling money from taxpayers into the owner’s pockets with no return to the local citizens other than made up economic impact statements. College Football has to be fixed now or It will be a race to the bottom until there are only a few teams that can truly compete for media money. Taking the short view of things for self interest is going to kill college athletics.
  3. As much as I love Sark, everytime I hear the commentators talk about a 40 play script, I pour a drink and prepare myself for disappointment. I started to lose faith in it in the Washington playoff loss after there was no change until halftime in the tipped Quinn balls over the middle. After two games against Georgia and OSU, the script has to go in big games. Be a playcaller, not a screenwriter. Just my ordinary joe opinion.
  4. USF played a way cleaner game than we just did. If we have less than 50 yards in penalties the next two weeks I might relax.
  5. The nature of modern college football is that a lot of freshman play and are ready. The problem is Sark’s schemes are overly complicated. We make up for it with talent.
  6. Arch just needs to wear his Warby Parkers next game we play OSU.
  7. In today’s click bait internet world, everyone talks in hyperbole.
  8. I want to see him have some touch on the short passes.
  9. My point is that the scheme does not make fast receivers look fast—not the game we’ve seen this year or any games last year. That is just not the scheme Sark seems to run. Our guys who got drafted high goy drafted high because they ended up running faster at the combine than people thought they would—AD Mitchell and Golden, exhibits A and B. Those guys were really fast but they didnt ever really look like it in Sark’s offense. I’m talking about 4.3 guys.
  10. What he said about Arch not having touch and just rip is probably going to live in my subconscious all year now. I hope the next three games Arch is not allowed to throw a pass longer than 15 yards unless he completes 10 of 5 yards or less.
  11. The problem is our offense doesnt look or feel explosive. Tommy Castleanos looked like he was shot outta a cannon in his game against Bama. The Miami players all look electric in this game against ND. We may have some players who can run fast 40 times, but it doesnt seem like they show up in big games against UGA. If I was a 5 star receiver I just dont know if I would pick Texas.
  12. This game reminds me of the OSU Michigan game last year where Day tried to impose his will on Michigan and beat them at their own game. They lost that game but found themselves after and went on to win the natty. I hope whatever was off with Arch gets fixed and maybe Sark goes back to the drawing board and we find something that works.
  13. Maybe the 4th quarter script will include some working pass plays.
  14. Since the washington game I have questioned the benefit of these long scripts.
  15. Klare is closer to Gunnar Helm than Bowers. Come on man. He played for Purdue!
  16. under over over on all three
  17. Cooper’s opponent had a 5 star edge (Maryland commit) and a 5 star safety (bama commit) as well as numerous other D commits. Hr still got off a few solid runs. He has great hands, is ok in pass pro and runs hard and falls forward. His team was outmatched but you could tell he will be something special with a good line. His QB was a freshman as well so they were stacking the box.
  18. I can see why Cooper wants to go to a team that has a great O-line. St Frances almost beating him to the handoff. Hard to do anything as a RB when your Oline is having their asses handed to them.
  19. @LovingBuckeye Thank you for supporting Bobby and the gang while you argue hypotheticals in the hope you will be correct on your message board predictions. 🤘
  20. I got $20 LovingBuckeye ghosts this board in 11 days. 🤘🤘🤘
  21. Good thing Gerry didn’t drive over and livestream.
  22. This is like someone reviewing Baywatch and saying Pamela Anderson will look good in a bikini.
