    He also screwed us on his recruiting visit, said we were recruiting him as the #1 target, ran off some other possible targets and then do the bamboozle hat swap for Tech. I can’t remeber which other ol left that visit but one got in his mom’s van and drove straight to aggy and signed. so no, I don’t particularly wish him well, I do hope he matures and reflects on his choices when he is selling used cars in Lubbock

    I have been a critic of Sark’s scheme for a while and believe it is too finesse oriented and requires elite talent to succeed. It invites a lot of penalties. Sark has doubled down this portal on offensive finesse players. We will see if his gamble pays off and I damn sure hope it does, but we have got to have the other half of the equation where we can grind people to dust and destroy their will with power run. I hope we get some players who can do that so we will be able to play true complimentary football.

    Im more impressed by him offering 500k more to the linemen from Michigan than they did—if true. That is all in to me. Getting skill players is awesome, but championships are won in the trenches. Let’s money whip some maulers. Hook Em!

    Has it ever been announced who the secret visitors were at the beginning of the portal period? I do not recall seeing the OTF staff say who they were-if they are still in play-or if they went somewhere else. Would like to know the scoop on that. Only thing that makes sense is they are on a playoff team—but that seems like it would be very hard to keep under wraps.

    These lists remind me that the ultimate goal is not to win the recruiting cycle or portal cycle, but to win the natty. We have done well on LB and RB and if we get another decent Olineman or two and retain our important pieces—we will have been every bit as successful as those other teams listed by ESPN. If we get Coleman, that will be a slam dunk and icing on the cake.

    Some of our recruiting problems are probably because of Ketch facetiming the Michigan guys.

    Tyler Atkinson needs to see a lot of the field early in the season. My prediction he will be a Caleb Downs impact freshman.

    This game—if nothing else—exposes that 95% of industry high school rankings are BS. We even have the elitist mindset that we cant take kids from non P4 schools when Indiana is littered with FCS transfers. Kiffin is doing it too.

    If Indiana ends up winning this game, I wonder if Phil Knight will question the universe that allowed Indiana to be in a better position than Oregon to win a natty.

    I wonder how deep Indiana’s losses will be in the trenches. They have a lot of older guys. When that goes can they keep this up? They basically transferred in the entire JMU team then filled some gaps this last year.

    You sound like the people who kept predicting Arch would portal for the $$$ Toney was solid to Miami for a lkng time and played QB in High School. Was also undervalued because he was short. That’s how you get kids like Toney. No one had him as a five star because he was short and doesn’t have NFL measurables analytics podcasters glaze. Bishop can be that guy for us if we let him play and he adds 5-10 pounds of armor this spring.
