  1. To the two above posts, yes of course. If we end up in the playoffs and SEC championship we would play 2, 3, or 4 games against top 12 competition. We did play a number of top 12 anyway (regular season) whereas the only real top 12 team they played was Oregon until they got to the Big 10 champ game. I am not taking anything away from them because they handled their business, but their SOS for the regular season is not comparable. Even if the SEC is not as dominant at the top post Saban, it is still king of the competitive depth and the regular season SOS bore that out. (The top 10 sos was like 8 or 9 SEC teams)
  2. Truth in what you are saying, but IU did have a weak schedule. So, fair point, but they probably are 5th, 6th, or 7th toughest if they end up on our schedule
  3. Farenheit, but it warmed up to 2° now.
  4. Only an inch or two so far. Projected to get around 8-12 by EOD. Currently 0°
  5. Saw this today and honestly, I think that man continues to prove he is smart and knows ball. UT above TT, OU, and A&M, BYU at 14.... Just a couple of good points in terms of season ranks. I do question Vandy so low and Iowa so high, but over all a very solid top 10 and good top 25.
  6. I have been struggling to understand/ categorize the Mendoza hype and seeing him when he is interviewed. Coach Ship just called said after the game he goes into "goof mode" and I laughed and could not put it better. In modern internet terms, he has zero aura or rizz.... a very odd duck, indeed. And now he likely will be living in Sin City with the trash franchise of the Raiders.... that will be an interesting sitcom. In other news, I would like to coin his "Heisman moment" (even though it was after he won) as the Divesman. Thank you. i will be here all week
  7. Can Dealgelo Ponds go in the portal and we go get him? Asking for friend.
  8. @Gerry Hamilton I know you love to hype up Beck's propensity to throw to the other team. Is that the sweetest way you could imagine that game ending?
  9. I have honestly never heard of this one, but Rams players were putting cayenne pepper in their socks to fight the cold in Chicago and learned this playing in Green Bay. Former Longhorn Poona Ford apparently showed this off in the locker room and was telling reporters all about their tactics. What a world we live in. Congrats to many standout longhorns in the playoffs like LJ Humphrey, Malcolm Roach, and now Poona "Pepper" Ford.
  10. What is your favorite stat or random bit of info. Here are my top 3 1 - My oldest kid is 11.5 and he has not lived in a world where ATM has beaten the horns 2 - We have one NFL coach alum/player in Kyle Shanny (mostly since he didn't play much so people forget he is a former player and not a Mike Mcdaniel type...and his dad being the door to the NFL) 3 - And lastly, that our 2020 QB room housed 4 (.5ish) collegiate starters: Ehlinger being a multi year starter Casey Thompson starts for us and then transfers to half the colleges in the county to play Hudson Card starts at Purdue Jaquinden Jackson starts at RB for Utah and then Arky And the .5 would be when Rochon moves from QB to RB this year and although technically is part of a 2 headed monster RB tandem, I will allow him the partial
  11. Quan Cosby count or is he in "star status"? Same for BJ Johnson. Both had a number one in Jordan Shipley and Roy Williams but they were also studs. Others: Aaron Lewis Roschon for being selfless Michael and Marcus Griffin Those are a few that come to mind.
  12. What a flurry over the past 24-36 hours. Amazing to see the team fill high profile holes with studs. Hoping Clark stays, but amazing getting Biles, Coleman, and Smothers in short order while also bring Kobe Black back. Some o-lineman and filling in for some depth and we look primed for '26!
  13. You know what they say about luck..... It's when opportunity meets preparation. I agree with you on things broke in their favor more often than not. I also think they had a week schedule. (Regular season game against Oregon being their only real challenge ... Next difficult was late season Penn State). What has impressed me is the 2 Oregon games and the Ohio State game. They seem to be unflappable in the face of their best competition.
  14. Anyone getting the sense that IU was built for this? It's like they built there team to win big games. Not with studs everywhere but with discipline, team chemistry, and sound assignment football. This makes me think of one thing. Cignetti might just be ..... Mecha James Bizzaro Feanklin Yinnerti to his Frankyang Insert ant mirror image/ dark twin analogy here... Why this matters is Sarks big game struggles. I hope hiring coach 'champ is a sign we are addressing this, but Sark needs to do a case study on this Hoosiers to see what lessons he needs to be able to beat Kirby and Day and other championship ready blue bloods.
  15. Wondering if we sign Cam and all of a sudden the "Coleman Quadruplets" becomes a thing. That would require one or more of the triplets to make an impact along with an impact from Cam. Potential to have lots of Colemans on the 26' roster.
  16. With Dmoore looking at Ohio St and Livingston likely headed to OU, I wonder what would be a good betting line on how many transfers end up on our schedule. (Only thinking about this past years roster and not transfers from previous years) I would set the line at 5.5. Thinking that some of our bigger time guys who left (Baxter, Wisner, Parker, etc) will probably be looking at SEC schools, and with some younger guys probably getting SEC looks based on HS recruiting /potential (so maybe not immediately starting), that number seems reasonable
  17. Prairie Village, Kansas (burbs of the KC metro)
  18. Can't remember if I heard it from Josh Pate or another source. Can we confirm that Minter has an active show cause that runs out in April that will surely keep him from being an option? @CJ Vogel?
  19. Well, this bowl game sure feels different all of a sudden.
  20. I like Deandre Moore, but with so much potential returning (Wingo/Livingstone/Mosely) I was worried about what that could do to push out or delay Lockett and Ffench getting on the field (Or Terry, for that matter). I was thinking that a little attrition might be good to create some space in a very crowded room.
  21. Hate to correct you. Pavia is probably going to "Chad Powers" it and get another 6 years there.
  22. Are these both announced? I am curious who number 2 is (lots of folkss think Carrolton) but with Royals commitment, I am wondering if this was one @Gerry Hamilton and @Bobby Burton knew about?
  23. No Big 12 teams @Gerry Hamilton? I think West Virginia, Kansas, maybe even something like Cincinnati are not great football schools. The difference from the other conferences might be it is easier to make it to the top quickly because there are no dominant programs at the moment.
  24. This week, I have been thinking about the growth of the OL and QB, as well as many stud players having another year(almost) of experience. Not looking past the Aggies, but thinking about how we have been building for this year.... and how (relatively) young we are. In the past 2 drafts, we have had double digit players drafted. This year, i could see only a handful and those will be impacted by underclassman decision. (Taaffe and Burke are the only seniors I think will for sure get drafted- other possibilities will be listed below). In the past 2 years, we have had 5 first rounders, 5 second rounders, and 13 later round picks (and Isiah bond who should have been drafted if not for legal troubles). What this looks like to me is we have the most returning talent in the past few years. We have the portal to fill in some gaps like the IOL, but the future for these players and the incoming recruit looks as bright as ever. I know this is a couple weeks early for offseason talk, but the early season Arch turning into mature experienced Arch and the young DBs playing have me thinking about what is possible. Outgoing Seniors (starters and key contributors) OL- Hutson and Campbell DL- Burke, Shaw, Trey Moore, DB- Taaffe, Guilbeau Draft Eligible Juniors- Expecting Goosby and some others that could work themselves into draft as staying at the moment) LB- Hill DB- Manny M, Jelani I am absolutely baffled by how little turnover might occur is we can keep players like Ant Hill and Manny, and the amount of talent coming in. This is where the Sark talk seems silly. Yes we need to win big games, but to see how the roster management is looking and how many SO and FR are ready to have big seasons in the next ear or two is absolutely huge. Excited to see Littleton, Phillips, Jackson, January, Ffrench, Lockett, Terry, and so many more grow up and make an impact on the 40 acres.
  25. Oh sure there are some things that I think we can adjust a bit, but I don't know If I think Day or Kiffin are any better than Sark on offense, maybe they are a wash, in reality. But seeing as their overalls are the same is a point of emphasis for me. Outside of Kirby (and maybe Marcus Freeman, but he only has a couple years as HC) there is not a lot of separation for a lot of those coaches. And I think my hypothetical is- Is there was no money implication, how would you trade Sark for straight up that would be an improvement? My answer is pretty much nobody because the improvement for anyone but Kirby or pulling Saban out of retirement would be a benefit and there would be costs short term to make a switch. TLDR: I like having Sark as the coach and need him to figure it out so he does not become Stejames Sarkfranklin.
