    I'm relaying this from Bobby: The list of student-athletes who get a DSA designation is controlled by Texas. If someone is on the list, it won't be a player of consequence. In other words, Texas won't designate someone as a DSA if the school wants to keep the student-athlete in the program.

    It's less about the recruiting strategy and more about maximizing the talent on campus. Texas is every bit as talented and in some ways more so than in the seasons leading up to the national title under Mack. The pressure comes in looking back at this time in the program's history a decade or more from now and feeling as though too much meat was left on the bone.

    At 41 years old, I appreciate dad humor now more than ever. When my 7-year-old starts rolling her eyes at my jokes, I feel like I'm winning at life! In all seriousness, the ones that really got away from Mack were the potential back-to-back titles in '08 and '09. I thought Texas was the most complete team in the country in '08, which is the year Colt should've won the Heisman.
