  1. A walk drawn by Fowler and a throwing error by Volantis on a pickoff attempt have a runner on third with two outs for the Tide.
  2. After Pendergrass gets hit by a pitch with one out, Robbins grounds into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.
  3. Volantis retires the Tide in order in the top of the second.
  4. If you were planning to attend football practice and the baseball game tomorrow, adjust your plans accordingly.
  5. Texas gets Fay to run his pitch count to 26 in the first inning. It's a three-run, four-hit frame for the Longhorns.
  6. RBI single to center for Mendoza. Rodriguez scores from second and Texas has a 3-0 lead.
  7. Lebron with a slick play to get Pack at first. Rodriguez advances to second, putting a runner in scoring position with one out for Mendoza.
  8. Three consecutive base hits with Rodriguez singling to right.
  9. Tinney goes the other way, putting one over the wall in right field for a two-run home run. Texas has the early lead, 2-0.
  10. Hitting from the leadoff spot, Robbins goes the other way and doubles to the right-field corner.
  11. Hines with a deep fly ball to center field. Robbins runs it down for the third out of the inning.
  12. Neal didn't like that third strike call. Volantis is trying to work around an error by Rodriguez. One on with two outs.
  13. Dylan Volantis is on the mound, Adrian Rodriguez is back in the lineup and Schloss has changed up the batting order with the fourth-ranked Longhorns hosting the 11th-ranked Crimson Tide at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The game is being streamed on SEC Network Plus.
  14. I didn't mention this in the story, but there's a draw to Texas for Hudson and the other late portal additions. First, joining the Longhorns beats the alternative of either leveling down to continue your football career or hanging up your cleats. Second, at the very least, you can finish an undergraduate degree or continue pursuing a post-graduate degree at Texas while getting your school paid for, which isn't a bad thing. I don't want to demean what a guy like Hudson could bring to the table. But if he's a positive presence in the room who can rub off on the young guys and put himself in a position to see the field, it's a win for all parties involved.
