The Longhorns are trying to avoid a series sweep at the hands of the Aggies today. Schloss and Max Weiner will send Dylan Volantis to the mound, looking to salvage something out of this weekend. The game is streaming on SEC Network Plus. UPDATE: Originally scheduled for a 1 p.m. start, first pitch is now scheduled for 7:30 p.m.: UPDATE: The start time has been pushed back to 8:15 p.m.: UPDATE: Both sides seem determined to play the game. Schloss said there was talk about pushing the game back because of the weather. At the end of the day, they decided to go with the scheduled start, even though neither coach wanted to deal with a lengthy delay. "Should've been a basketball coach if you don't like the weather," he said.

Schloss: "A&M has out-played us for two days."

Schloss on why Texas hasn't been able to string together walks and hits for a big inning this weekend: "A&M is out-pitching us. They're filling the strike zone up."

Schloss also said Cal Higgins' stuff "was better than it has been."

Schloss thought Walls was outstanding today. He liked that they were able to get Winter into the game.

Schloss: "You can't give up free bases and that many opportunities to score."

"Most games are the free bases surrounded by the big hits," Schloss said.

Schloss credits the A&M pitching staff for not giving Texas any free bases.

"That one can obviously be second-guessed a million ways and I understand that," Schloss said.

Schloss said Harrison's drop in velocity was strictly related to pitching after the rain delay.

Schloss said he asked the team getting off the bus at the hotel about how they're going to respond to some serious adversity tomorrow. "We'll find out what their response is," he said. "It's certainly surprising to play your rival and get run off the field like we did today."

"We need to get off to a good start, that's for sure," Schloss said of the pitching plan tomorrow.

Schloss is asked if Grahovac and Sorrell are the best 1-2 punch in college baseball: "Well, I think Tinney and Robbins are pretty good, too."
