  1. Join me, Bobby Burton and CJ Vogel this morning at 8 AM as we take your questions, talk some Longhorn football, recruiting and much more!
  2. Here’s the link to the full two round mock draft from Yahoo: https://sports.yahoo.com/2024-nfl-draft-2-round-070038179.html?guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAFIcnYVer12s1eutOijSX4Bv5xmKBXr8LSZ6nHp8Y8auwO1ItVK6wqopvrWH_R8xHD7C9Naq0h7AqHOd_Kcw935xgPqp_VPw3nbyGFZGvZ_kdZNAw1kqoy3-K7lXZCPBcz0Ct53VTAt3Y5rgv09U2mVaVD8UjiE_cDqOrIS-Oj-c
  3. Yahoo Sports released their first two round mock draft and they have FIVE Longhorns being taken in the first two rounds… or I guess I should say in the second round, as they predict none will be taken in the first.
  4. Pierce did a great job of explaining the problem with the transfer portal window and the MLB draft when he sat down with us last week. I think every college baseball fan needs to listen to that, because it's a valid concern for ALL programs, not just Texas. With that said, I love this roster and the potential of it. I do wish Texas didn't lose Notre Dame transfer Will Mercer, however. That hurts.
  5. For the 2023 season, the Longhorns ended up with 32 sacks, which was a six-sack improvement from the year before. However, they now are losing three defensive linemen, including arguably two of the best players on defense in T'Vondre Sweat and Byron Murphy II, along with two linebackers. So just how much sack production will be lost as the Horns move forward to the 2024 season? In short: Not much. In somewhat of a surprising result, Texas returns over 65% of that sack production, including three of their top four defenders who recorded the most sacks. Let's also not forger that, due to the transfer portal and recruiting, the Longhorns have added pieces such as defensive end Trey Moore from UTSA (14 sacks last season), defensive tackle Tiaoalii Savea from Arizona (1.5 sacks) and some very talented high schoolers such as five-star edge prospect Colin Simmons.

  7. Definitely seems to be the case.
  8. Former Texas Longhorn/current Kansas City Chiefs DE Charles Omenihu tore his ACL yesterday and will miss the Super Bowl. Right before he sustained his injury, Omenihu had a huge strip on Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.
  9. Earlier today, Baseball America released their Top 25 Preseason Poll and the Longhorns come in at the No. 13 spot. With the season less than two weeks away, Texas will face multiple opponents ranked in the Top 25, including three in the top ten and six overall.

  11. Going to be one heck of a game, no doubt about it. Two of the biggest brands, what should be talent filled rosters, etc. That game is going to be huge It’s also hard to believe that (VY and co. beating them on the road) game was nearly 20 years ago.
  12. From his Texas bio: two-time all-district honoree … earned second-team All-District 21-6A accolades as a kicker in 2020 and a punter in 2022 … ranked as the No. 24 punter nationally by Kohl’s Kicking.
  13. Not going to lie... storylines were a lot easier to find during football season. 😂

  17. I’d say since 2000: 1. Texas/USC 2. Texas/Michigan 3. Texas/OU 2008 4. Texas/Ohio State 2005 5. Texas/Alabama 2023 6. Aggies final Big 12 7. Texas/Ohio State Fiesta Bowl Edit: I might add in Arizona State/Texas Holiday Bowl 2007 as No. 8. The “RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!” Game. It set 2008-2009 in motion and the Sun Devils talked a lot of smack before hand. Texas was nails and the next two years were A LOT of fun. I’d probably follow up Missouri/Texas 2008 as No. 9 as well. Fresh off the win against No. 1 OU, Texas dominated Missouri and Colt McCoy played like an absolute animal. That place was rocking too and I didn’t have a voice for days! And to round out my Top 10, the Sugar Bowl win over Georgia.
