Blake Munroe

Check this out. Good stuff by Clemson HC Erik Bakich.

You're welcome.

They'll finish Game 1 at 6:00 PM and Game 2 will start at 7:00 PM. If you have a ticket to game 2 tonight, they'll let you in early to watch the conclusion of the first one!

Longhorns forward Deyona Gaston has entered the portal. Gaston was named the Big 12 'Sixth Man of the Year' after averaging 8.4 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game this season. She will have two years of eligibility remaining due to her COVID year. A Texas native, Gaston originally committed to Vic Schaefer at Mississippi State before following him to the University of Texas.

Just posted an update on a player who is no longer with the team. It's pinned at the top of the board.

Haha. Well... Not one of my prouder moments but I was in full fan mode and, at the time, not covering Texas. Horns vs Tennessee @ CWS in 2021. I had seats VERY close to the Tennessee dugout. Tennessee fans and coaches were already heated and I was stoking the fire after a few beers and days in the sun. One of their assistants, Ross Kivett, was ejected from the game. I started yelling loudly and waving bye to him. They didn't take very kindly to it. He clearly saw me do it and wasn't happy. It was very quick. He was mad. I kept on heckling. We won.

Vaughn is going to do really well at Alabama if they'll get behind him NIL wise. He may do good regardless. He is legit. You're spot on with Vitello as well. Also, before anyone says what about LSU/Vandy/Ark/Virginia coach... those guys aren't leaving. I almost put the Stanford coach on here as well, despite their bad season this year, but he isn't leaving either.

A few notes on the guys above. - As @Derek Handler said, Canham definitely might be the easiest to go after in my "Tier 1" category. And he's proven. Does a phenomenal job. - Bakich has Clemson rolling. He also has SEC experience. He's 70-22 at Clemson. I like what he did at Michigan too. - Pollard is consistent. Three Super Regionals in five years at Duke. - Vitello might not leave Tennessee, but he has no direct ties. Graduated from Missouri. Great coach though. Fun fact: he once flipped me off. - Walter might be the hardest to get to leave, but the man does more with less. Imagine what he could do at Texas. - Vaughn just got to Alabama this year, but he's an absolute stud at coaching. Look at what he did with Maryland... who has zero support for baseball. Younger guy who is originally from Texas. I would be ecstatic with Texas hiring him. Any of those guys would be awesome. Canham and Vaughn would be my two top choices. I'll break down Tier 2 later.

Just realized I never pressed “Submit” after typing it out and revisiting this thread just now. Here is my REALISTIC list. Tier 1: Mitch Canham (Oregon State) Erik Bakich (Clemson) Chris Pollard (Duke) Tony Vitello (Tennessee) Tom Walter (Wake Forest) Rob Vaughn (Alabama) Tier 2: Ben Orloff (UC Irvine) Mark Wasikowski (Oregon) Cliff Godwin (ECU) Justin Haire (Campbell) Alex Sogard (Wright State) Jordan Bischell (Cincinnati)

Texas will also face #22 Texas State tonight and #24 Baylor this weekend.

Losses this season: #2 OU (dropped 1 of 3 games) #5 Oklahoma State (dropped 2 of 3) #6 LSU #7 Stanford (went 1-1) Houston (won series 2-1) Other important wins besides those above: #4 Tennessee #11 UCLA (2-0) #18 FSU #21 Louisiana Penn State (Receiving votes) UCF (3-0 / Receiving votes)

All the polls are now out: ESPN.com/USA Softball: No. 1 (This is who the NCAA uses) D1Softball: No. 1 USA Today/NFCA: No. 2 Softball America: No. 4 And Texas also is No. 1 in RPI.

Good morning! Rise and shine with the OTF crew on Coffee and Football beginning at 8 AM. Bobby Burton, Gerry Hamilton and I will be talking all things Texas and will be taking your questions.

Haha. I’m about to get them back in return. It’s ok! I can take what I dish out!

The place to be for any and all Texas fans is Coffee and Football at 8 AM. Join Bobby Burton, Gerry Hamilton and I to discuss the latest in Longhorns news and notes.

Two (LSU, Vandy) of the top 3-4 ain’t coming for sure. But going after a well known, established name would be ideal for sure.

#4 Texas hosts #1 OU today, beginning at 1:00 PM. Each team has won one game apiece in the series, so today’s game is huge for obvious reasons. Last night the Longhorns snapped the Sooners 40 game conference win streak, as they won 2-1. Game will be televised on LHN and is sold out.

I’ve had a lot of people ask me who I’d go after if I had the opportunity. Thinking on that today. I’ll post a list this afternoon.

Can someone in this thread help me out…. I haven’t got to see the Rangers or Astros scores from this weekend. Someone post please. Just curious how both teams did Friday and Saturday.

Also, Texas HAS TO IMPROVE their RISP in clutch situations. Been a problem throughout the season.

I am available to coach if they need me, fyi. I’ll give up the C&F gig. I have 3x district champ, 2 TTAB state appearances under my belt as a coach. Pretty sure that means I’m ready for the big time.

It’s Friday! Start your weekend with a bang! Join us for Coffee and Football as we discuss the Longhorns and talk Texas football, baseball, recruiting and more.

The only way I would root for the Astros is if my kid played for them. And I wouldn’t like it. At all. I’d respect it. But I wouldn’t like it.
