  1. Everyone loves Drew. He knows the state of Texas, and more specifically the recruiting within Texas and the other big baseball states, really really well. Very respected. Being a part of Five Tool is huge. Them and Perfect Game are the two biggest baseball organizations out there.
  2. Pshhhhh you know I got yall when it comes to baseball. Errrbody just hold up. Post incoming.
  3. Ahem. Some of us are working 😉
  4. Been sitting on this for a few days now, but I can finally announce that Drew Bishop is returning to Texas baseball. He originally played for the Longhorns under then head coach Augie Garrido, before transitioning to the “Director of Baseball Ops” role for 13 years. Bishop then served as the Director of Scouting for Five Tool since 2021. “Really excited to be back home and get to work with the new staff and on the road to Omaha,” Bishop told On Texas Football. He will return to his old role with the Longhorns.
  5. The Longhorns baseball program has announced that Troy Tulowitzki is rejoining the program. He will work with the infielders, as well as being the Texas hitting coach.
  6. Also, mark my words, Texas A&M will say “Tony Vitello didn’t have experience!!!” And will use that as a data point while ignoring others.
  7. Working on this. Will have an update when I can.
  8. No. The couple are Earley and Longley. But thank you for reminding me to put in there that we don’t expect Max or Cain to be gone.
  9. On Texas Football is expecting a couple of shakeups to the Texas staff beginning today. Texas A&M is set to hire new Texas assistant coach Michael Earley as their head coach. Earley spent the last three years in College Station on Jim Schlossnagle's staff. We expect that hire to be made public soon. The fact is Texas A&M Athletic Director Trev Alberts set his sights on Earley after failing to lock in a couple of other candidates. It's somewhat of a risky hire for the Aggies, as Earley has no head coaching experience and only eight years of coaching experience total. I've been told the big money at Texas A&M was expecting a much bigger name when it came to fulfilling this position. We also expect the Longhorns to lose Caleb Longley from their staff. Longley spent the last three years in Austin under former coach David Pierce. Both Longley and Earley spent time working together at Arizona State. OTF does not expect for anyone else on the staff to leave at this time. What does this mean for Texas? It mainly affects portal recruiting, as it will be much tougher to pull the Texas A&M players who entered the portal after Schloss' departure. We originally thought the Horns could land three to four former Aggies, but now I don't believe that to be the case. Texas continues to be very active in the portal and that will be the status quo over the next few weeks. As I reported yesterday, the Longhorns are also set to make an off the field hire in a pivotal role. In fact, that hire has already been made, but expect it to be public relatively soon. It's a name Texas fans are familiar with and will generate some buzz.
  10. AD wanted Earley. Donors wanted a big name. The AD won out. Not expecting Texas to lose anyone else, staff wise, for what it’s worth.
  11. Haha. No kiddos that play DT yall.
  12. A little more on this: I spoke with Aiden 2-3 days ago and he told me there was a lot of mutual interest. I just didn’t think it would move this quickly.
  13. 9:35 PM Update: Spoke with a couple of sources that have knowledge of the situation. Here’s what I can tell you. Texas isn’t concerned about his numbers at LSU. At all. One thing you will soon learn is that Max Weiner knows what to look for. “He knows what he wants and it’s not always conventional,” said one source. Texas sees a lot of potential here. A LOT. It also helps he throws hard as hell. This sorta comes off as a “trust me bro” update, but… trust me bro.
  14. lol. Melissa, Celina and Anna since Thursday for baseball. Sorta glad we aren’t playing again tomorrow and now we get a week off for the first time since the end of May.
  15. I’ll update this more when I get some more information on Moffett, as I’m not super familiar with his pitching. Currently driving home from Celina and I stopped at Scheel’s when this popped. I’ll update this in a bit for sure!
  16. On Saturday afternoon, the Longhorns picked up a commitment from LSU transfer Aiden Moffett. The right handed pitcher’s playing time was sparse for the Tigers, as he appeared in 16 games this past season, posting a 5.60 ERA through 17.2 innings of play and striking out 21 batters in the process. 9:35 PM Update: I spoke with Aiden 2-3 days ago and he told me there was a lot of mutual interest. I just didn’t think it would move this quickly. I also spoke with a couple of sources that have knowledge of the situation. Here’s what I can tell you. Texas isn’t concerned about his numbers at LSU. 17. I can’t get into specifics just yet, but expect a big time announcement from Texas in the coming days as they continue to fill the staff under new HC Jim Schlossnagle. This will be an off the field role, but a major one, and one that will make Longhorn fans very happy. As soon as we are allowed to release it, we will. But I’m beyond thrilled with this hire.
  18. Not from lack of trying, I know that much. Literally can’t get a soul to talk. Texas did pick up a transfer a couple of days ago but it wasn’t Canady.
  19. FWIW, I’ll vouch for this. If Horn95 is telling you guys something in baseball, take it to the bank. His info is A+. Obviously please don’t pester him to share stuff 24/7, but when he does, just know it’s good info.
  20. Hey that’s better than getting the after product of using manscaped.
  21. On Friday evening, the Longhorns picked up their second commitment of the 2025 class under new Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle. Jack Paris, a one time Texas A&M commit out of Houston Kincaid, has decided to switch his commitment from the Aggies to the Longhorns. Paris can play first base and is a stud on the mound, although it’s currently unknown where Texas plans to use him. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound right hander had a 90 mph fastball last summer.
