    I'm not talking about last year. I'm saying maybe don't ask questions like "has the defense regressed that badly??" based on a few lines of practice reports. But also, the offense is going to be very very good. If you're reading that it was a mixed bag, then that is generally probably a good thing for the defense. But, zero sum, you know.

    Harsh. Damning with faint praise, but Taaffe ended up being better than Jerrin Thompson and Kitan Crawford. He's also great on special teams (that block against I think Tech was awesome). But he's a walk-on who has overachieved, so everyone is going to hate him.

    What's Austin Jordan up to? Don't hear much about him and I wish he'd play more. But I get it. We're about five over the 85 limit right? We need to be at or under it by August, correct?

    It's a fine answer, and maybe I'm just irritable today, but I kind of wish any question about "oh noes how are you gonna be ready for the big bad SEC" should be answered with something like "Well we beat the SEC champs in their house last year by double digits. How about you ask the SEC how they are gonna be ready for Texas."

    Well we are moving him to RT, so take it up with the coaches I guess? And I'm not saying he's going to win a starting job, just that it's valuable to have a guy with that much experience who can play up and down the line if needed.

    I think he's a better tackle than guard. And in a pinch he can play four different positions on the line. He's not one we want to discard.
