  1. How hard is Texas trying here?
  2. Asking recruiting fanatics to gird their loins is hilarious.
  3. Feels a bit like hi jacking threads regardless of your acumen as a writer. How about that Declan Duru? Maybe initiate an open NBA discussion thread if that is what you are hot for? Nuff said on my part. I wish you well. Do as you may. No hard feelings… just a bit curious.
  4. Just wondering if we could stay on subject.“Writing against” is an interesting choice of words. Is that what we are doing here?
  5. Harveycmd… why do you make ao many posts that are completely off subject? If you need an NBA discussion thread make one up for yourself perhaps.
  6. I think Texas is being wise in letting other schools come in and blow their wads. I saw an interview with Sonny Dykes discussing NIL when it works and when it doesn’t. He mentioned how bad it is for the team to have a freshman come in who hasn’t done a thing making more already than your senior captains. We need some good old fashioned salaries across the board. NIL is on the side and your own damn business.
  7. Being in a different conference for many years has numbed the antipathy Texas and Texas A&M have always had for each other. Texas and A&M have always been hated rivals due to proximity, history and Longhorn superiority at all things outside of agriculture…
  8. Physically mature for his age. Significant international experience with German national 19- and Real Madrid. Nice stroke. Good hops. Handles the ball and passes well. 39 inch running verical jump. Recruited by Baylor, Illinois, Oklahoma and others. Sounds like a solid foundation to work with. We aren’t going to find Kobe Bryants in July for the upcoming season. With strength and conditioning, good coaching and development against good competition… I think this guy could ascend if he is patient. Great name.
  9. The force looks strong in this one… nice add by Miller. I still wish we had one more younger guard in the wings prepping for the exodus after this season of Pope, Mark and Weaver… Filcher?
  10. I wish someone elae was being picked to win it all. Texas has a history of thinking too highly of itself when they are projected at the top of the heap. At least their is a playoff now to sort it all out when teams have established true chemistry after a long, hard fought season.
  11. Best not to burn bridges… or over react to kids being kids.
  12. DJ was damn good… no doubt. Got a paycheck for many years.
  13. Penders will always have a place in my heart after trying to support Kaiser Bob era for too many games… rough. From Abe Lemons to Weltlich(sp?) was a horrible move. Our entire roster jumped ship after being in the top 5 when Mike Wacker’s knee exploded. 6 and 7 win seaaons… BAD. I forgot about Mike Wacker! … and George Mueller… Seriously though… Mike Wacker was a stud before his knee injury and that team was as good as any we have had when they were in full health. When Wacker went down we had the worst collapse of any team I can think of … Texas or otherwise. Wacker deserves serious consideration. He was also about the only player who stayed though he played on essentially one leg forevermore.
  14. Maybe Mt Bonnell… not Rushmore.
  15. Travis Mays would have had a very good NBA career if not for the injuries. He may be my favorite ever because he came from Florida to a sorry team and brought it up from the ashes to create the most exciting version of Texas basketball ever with Blanks, Wright, Collie, Myers and the rest.
  16. Goosby was light when he got here. Turntine doesn’t have to start as a freshman. He will put on necessary mass to be a beast.
  17. Johnny Moore, Jim Krivacs, Lasalle Thompson, Lance Blanks and Miles Turner are 2nd Team. Tristan Thompson, DJ Augustine, Terrence Rencher, James Thomas and BJ Tyler round out third team.
  18. Travis Mays should be in there somewhere with KD, TJ, LA and PJ.
  19. Despite committing early Chris Stewart has quite the offer list. I was surprised when I looked at it. He is no scrub… the kind of player that would end up padding stats at Okie State or Waahington.
  20. I am feeling better and better about Brown, Stewart and Bishop as our wideouts. They are all fast, athletic with great skillsets. Brown, especially, seems vastly under rated. With Wingo, French, Locket, and our great white hope being taller receivers this feels like a strong position group to me. Especially when you throw Mosely into the picture as well. Granted, I have been watching this team for 50 years… I’m not sure our overall depth has ever been greater. I think not.
  21. I like Notre Dame’s coach. He’s legit. Kohen is quite a bit faster than Finley though… similar size.
