  1. yeah especially if the Demond williams situation ends up with him freely being allowed to leave. If you cant enforce a contract the player willingly signed, then man this is going to get ugly real fast
  2. I'd have to imagine a lot of these guys seeking way more money then they are worth will start to have their asking prices come down over time. The big name people who can demand whatever are setting the market, and the depth pieces will then fall in line behind. for every bo barnes that we have, there is a bo barnes from another team who will realize he wont get that money and sign for what we think is reasonable over time.
  3. yeah I always wondered about the crazy numbers for some of the recruits. Like why pay the 1.5M for a #1 at a position who wont see the field that year... It should be like okay you get 100k year one, then 1M once you start type of thing.. so yeah if its just paying them a ton to get them in the door, that sets the floor of their pay. so if they dont immediately start or are ready to be a top guy year two, its not a good deal for the school to pay so much to have someone sit. Somethings gotta change, this new world is kinda terrible
  4. Did yall get blasters or the hobby box? i got 2 blasters and one hobby but wondering if I should've gone all hobby..
  5. if he did sign for the same amount as what we offered, which is what OTF is saying they are hearing at this point, then all these people whining that we let him and that he bleeds orange are just wrong. That's why the immediate jumping to conclusions about very small bits of news are getting extremely tiring. Point is, there are no key targets on our board that we have brought in that have signed elsewhere to this point. Its one thing to feel good or bad about the bits of info we do get, but tying them into a certain conclusion that something is definitely one way or the other is just unnecessary to this point. Why can't we just be somewhere in the middle until things are actually set in stone?
  6. Man did he get that buccal fat removal? Face is looking hollow
  7. I read somewhere that the issue with Woodyard was grades/Academics. Is that the case?
  8. "The Manning family should fork out a bag to protect him" Actually on second thought, giving the Michigan guys a bag from them could be almost as valuable as insurance.
  9. Dude went to the high school next to me. Was a Lax 5 star recruit and at one point committed to Army (iirc? one of the service academies). then he went to a boarding school Jr/Sr year and bulked up and swapped to football. Super athletic kid and huge
  10. Chicago represent. Seen some other Bears fans around this part (and far too many packers ones too...)
  11. I remember waking everyone up in the house screaming while watching on my tube tv in my room.. "HES GOT IT" Legendary
  12. Not sure how you are seeing his post as him being forced out. I’d imagine not getting the money you think you deserve would be out of your control i can ask for a raise, but whether or not my company gives it to me is out of my control. And I’d do the same as Parker if they said no. Doesn’t mean either are wrong or bad
  13. He redshirted this year since they were so loaded. would be a flier type rather than a known entity. he'll likely be looking for a full time starting role but may be worth checking in
  14. We did well last year with a guy who couldnt see the field at OSU due to all of their talent (Kanu). Any way we take a shot on this dude (in addition to woodyard/Barnes etc)
  15. This kicker from Illinois has been clutch this year. could be a good option 2x all big ten kicker. would have to fight OSU for him probably
  16. Coleman also tries to play hero ball instead of going out of bounds and fumbled the game away vs alabama.. so hes prone to game losing plays as well. Not like hes perfect. I think all of us would love coleman in a vacuum, in a no cost world or in an unlimited resources world. The pushback you are getting on coleman is purely due to WR seeming like a want (WR/DB) rather than a need (RB, OL, LB). so if they can make both work without sacrificing needs for wants, go for it. Just seems like we are being primed for a "you can't get everything" world, despite some taking "All in" to be an unlimited funds.
  17. he doesn't do hometown deals for the longhorns. Great agent. In that he does right by his clients
  18. You are correct. For those still confused, Rev share has a cap (the $20.5M between all sports). These are direct payments from the university to the players. NIL contracts do not have a cap. it is paid outside of the university by collectives/businesses for using a persons Name/Image/Likeness in advertising or other services (Think Nike paying a player to wear their gear, or the local car dealer paying a player to show up in a commercial). These deals are what go through the clearinghouse where some dude at a desk says its "Market Value" or not. So there is no cap, just needing the deal to be approved by Deloitte. Lotta people use NIL/Rev share interchangeably but they are two different things
  19. I was sitting between the uprights for the game winning kick. such an awesome memory and game. Grand daddy of em all
  20. Thats how much jeremiah makes, without being a free agent. wouldnt be surprised if he got close to that
  21. guess all you coleman lovers didnt watch the iron bowl where he coulda stepped out of bounds and stopped the clock, giving his team a chance to win. Instead he cut inside to play hero ball and fumbled, losing the game.. Not sure I'd pay $3M for that... is he a winner?
  22. is this guy any good? has experience
  23. They had no passing game. Running the ball was all they could do. so was probably doing this against 8 man boxes. think he could be good for depth or as a short yard guy on top of a Lacy
  24. thats the dude that blatantly headbutted a ref lol
