  1. He redshirted this year since they were so loaded. would be a flier type rather than a known entity. he'll likely be looking for a full time starting role but may be worth checking in
  2. We did well last year with a guy who couldnt see the field at OSU due to all of their talent (Kanu). Any way we take a shot on this dude (in addition to woodyard/Barnes etc)
  3. This kicker from Illinois has been clutch this year. could be a good option 2x all big ten kicker. would have to fight OSU for him probably
  4. Coleman also tries to play hero ball instead of going out of bounds and fumbled the game away vs alabama.. so hes prone to game losing plays as well. Not like hes perfect. I think all of us would love coleman in a vacuum, in a no cost world or in an unlimited resources world. The pushback you are getting on coleman is purely due to WR seeming like a want (WR/DB) rather than a need (RB, OL, LB). so if they can make both work without sacrificing needs for wants, go for it. Just seems like we are being primed for a "you can't get everything" world, despite some taking "All in" to be an unlimited funds.
  5. he doesn't do hometown deals for the longhorns. Great agent. In that he does right by his clients
  6. You are correct. For those still confused, Rev share has a cap (the $20.5M between all sports). These are direct payments from the university to the players. NIL contracts do not have a cap. it is paid outside of the university by collectives/businesses for using a persons Name/Image/Likeness in advertising or other services (Think Nike paying a player to wear their gear, or the local car dealer paying a player to show up in a commercial). These deals are what go through the clearinghouse where some dude at a desk says its "Market Value" or not. So there is no cap, just needing the deal to be approved by Deloitte. Lotta people use NIL/Rev share interchangeably but they are two different things
  7. I was sitting between the uprights for the game winning kick. such an awesome memory and game. Grand daddy of em all
  8. Thats how much jeremiah makes, without being a free agent. wouldnt be surprised if he got close to that
  9. guess all you coleman lovers didnt watch the iron bowl where he coulda stepped out of bounds and stopped the clock, giving his team a chance to win. Instead he cut inside to play hero ball and fumbled, losing the game.. Not sure I'd pay $3M for that... is he a winner?
  10. is this guy any good? has experience
  11. They had no passing game. Running the ball was all they could do. so was probably doing this against 8 man boxes. think he could be good for depth or as a short yard guy on top of a Lacy
  12. thats the dude that blatantly headbutted a ref lol
  13. https://x.com/TransferPortal/status/2001750051660435797?s=20 not sure he fits since we already have a bunch of promising yunguns, but an interesting guy nonetheless Would be awesome to take a bunch of young development guys (assuming they dont take money from our needed starters/depth) with the move to 105. This guy likely too much, but lots of young talent entering
  14. sounds like this isnt certain and they are meeting this afternoon with a final decision to come soon (per pinned post for Thurs afternoon update)
  15. any shot we go for the 5 star freshman guard from LSU that started 5 games? Carius Curne? maybe as a 3rd or 4th guy? or two much $$ for not enough proven production?
  16. doubt they will care much because with the wins over the replacement they will get in the top 12 and get their auto-bid.
  17. he was a lacrosse star in high school committed to Navy at our biggest rival... switched over to football in his post grad year at avon before going to wisco. Really athletic dude
  18. I really like his play. think hed be great with wisner
  19. are you saying there is more to the story than just the affair? or that it affects more than SMoore?
  20. I like 16 teams with no AQs... or if there are AQs then putting a threshold requirement on it (must be ranked, maybe in top 20?)... But ultimately I think 16 teams is the ultimate solve, since there seems to be about 14/15 playoff quality teams each year (last year bama/USC/Ole Miss woulda got in, this year texas/ND/Vandy gets in) and then can give the G5 a charity. Id rather let in one team not worthy than leave 2-3 teams that are worthy out.. especially since bowls are now worthless.. Dont need to add any additional weeks, just get rid of the byes. Other idea I like is make a G5 playoff... why do they need to be with the big boys.
  21. That was before the reports of Texas's NIL package
  22. meh its not so much saying don't play these games, its more like wait until the playoffs to play these games since they will happen there regardless.. otherwise you miss out on so much money/recruit power/prestige by missing the playoffs... Though I still think the solution is a 16 team playoff. since every year there seems to be 2ish teams that are deserving and left out and a clear line around 14-15 with a drop off.
  23. 2004 rose bowl? I was at that game, sitting between the uprights when the game winning kick went through! best Texas memory (followed by the late night gasp on 4th and 5)
  24. They have said the number on OL is 5 so I assume theyd take both with wright out
