  1. Spoke with Galveston (Texas) Ball High 5-star safety Jonah Williams Friday afternoon. Williams, 6-3 and 204 pounds, is currently helping lead Ball High to a district title in basketball before shifting focus to baseball. Obviously, baseball is impactful in his recruitment. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and safeties coach/area recruiter Blake Gideon were at Ball High two weeks ago. They met with Williams and his father. Sarkisian's message was simple. “It went great," Williams told OnTexasFootball Friday. "They moved me back to the safety room. They talked about with Coach Choate leaving that they are moving me back to the safety room. He had a great talk with my dad." Williams and Gideon have been in communication for over a year with Gideon serving as the area recruiter. “Coach Gideon told me that I’m a top priority at safety." With Texas shifting the recruitment to the safety position, the Longhorns have a realistic shot. Williams' visit plans Williams visited Oklahoma last weekend for the Sooners Elite Junior Day. He did not attend Texas Junior Day January 20, and said Friday he's not likely attending Texas A&M Junior Day this weekend. Williams said spring practice visits to Texas and Texas A&M are likely. A number of head coaches have been by Ball High to meet with Williams and family members. That list includes USC's Lincoln Riley Thursday, UH's Willie Fritz, Texas A&M's Mike Elko Thursday, Ohio State's Ryan Day last week and Oregon's Dan Lanning attended the Galveston Ball at Friendswood basketball game two weeks ago.
  2. Aaron Harris is one guy from the 2005 NC team that you don't hear much about these days. Anyone know what he is up to?
  3. One is he's never been able to stay healthy. IMO, it impacts rebounding and defense the most. Hunter not developing at all has been the thing that's hurt this team the most IMO.
  4. 100% on Cam Spencer. He's such a big time college player. Difference maker for UConn He's not on any NBA mock drafts that I have seen ... but will not surprise me if he makes a team one day.
  5. Yep. Texas says Buck is where he will begin his career.
  6. Figured LSU would get some votes here!
  7. The 2025 NBA Mock Draft has Tre Johnson and Cam Scott in the first round (understanding it's meaningless on some level) https://www.nbadraft.net/nba-mock-drafts/?year-mock=2025
  8. Yep. Texas is in a tough spot this season in one way ... the big lineup protects against smaller backcourt, but the flip side is bad spacing in the big lineup and without a wing that is a threat off the bounce or as a perimeter threat (Mitchell). Three guards is the Horns best chance to get to the tournament this season, without question.
  9. He was showing continued improved perimeter skill prior to the knee injury ...
  10. Thanks for posting! Hope all you guys jump in as we grow
  11. Carl Weathers passed away today at the age of 76. I'm not sure how many times I have watched the Rocky movies ...
  12. Texas top 35 signee Cam Scott has also been tremendous this season at Lexington High (S.C.) ... tall guards are on the way! Scott and Tre Johnson are both 6-5/6-5.5
  13. Texas 5-star signee Tre Johnson has been terrific this season ... wears number 0 for Link Prep
  14. Texas has a legit shot here with 6-11 skilled big man from NBA Africa in Senegal Ulrich Chomche if he goes to college for a year ... he made an OV around the UH game Monday-Tuesday. He visited USC last weekend. Arizona also in the mix ... NBA G-league ignite definitely in play here too.
  15. Figured it's time to get this going ... Texas sits at 14-7, 3-5 in Big 12 play. Absolutely have to split one of the next two ... @ TCU Iowa State
  16. I would say this ... Bo Davis is a hell of a coach. For a guy like Alfred Collins ... it's more about him wanting to maximize. Maybe his final year will be the one, but he's got to decide he wants to be that guy. Kenny Baker is a high-end pass rush teacher/coach ... Jaray Bledsoe could be the one ... but he's in that same boat with Collins right now. A world of potential, and lack of consistency.
  17. Think what we've seen last two days with Jonathan Cunningham (North Crowley) and now Thomas ... is a type Coach Nansen and Texas like moving forward in the SEC. Long arms/levers LB's with frame to develop with the ability to pursue the ball.
  18. He's an EDGE all the way for me. And he's a very good edge prospect moving to the SEC ... long lever EDGE that will carry 275-280 very well.
  19. I just like others better. He's certainly got ability ... and he is a long ways away from a frame and technical standpoint. If he's a 4th in a class of four and it's a stash and dvelop scenario ... he has higher value for me.
  20. From a talent perspective ... big fan. And he was an early enrollee. I just never got the impression he was all in on being at Texas. He was coming to Texas because of Bo Davis. So from that perspective, don't think Texas lost much other than he has a lot of upside if it worked out.
  21. Texas, OU, LSU, Texas A&M etc... also evaluating 2025 IOL Demetris Dean of Jasper High ... +arm length guy that hasn't really started to fill out yet... 6-3.5'ish and 265. Junior HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/video/3/13394067/654121e296809706a48cc21d
  22. And Kiotti Armstrong is a legt 6-5, 240'ish
  23. Alabama assistant currently at Jasper High to see 2025 4-star TE and Texas target Kiotti Armstrong. Junior HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/video/3/17266105/654be24aab9c2705ec6e272c
  24. Oh yeah. Don't let young kids watch it ... they won't want to play football lol
  25. On defense in the state, linebacker is going to end up being terrific. So much more quality depth in the state at the position than a lot of recent classes.
