  1. He can be a run game anchor for 10-15 snaps IMO. He now added the weight and strength required. Unless the spring portal changes that opportunity for him.
  2. Melvin Hills senior HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/v/2Mpvas
  3. Kenny Baker visits Melvin Hills New Texas defensive line coach Kenny Baker made a trip to Lafayette (La.) Friday to meet with signee Melvin Hills. Hills, 6-3 and 280-pounds, had been eager for the first conversation since Baker was announced January 30. “I talked to Coach Baker Friday,” Hills told OnTexasFootball. “He came to see me. We were talking about how the program will be with him.” Baker told the Lafayette Christian Academy standout what the plans would be for him early on at Texas. “He told me that I’m an important factor with my pass rush. He said I would play end most likely to start, and then move into the interior depending on how much weight I put on.” The first impression of Baker was a positive one. “I like his attitude and energy. When I talked to him, he seemed like a real guy. A God first guy.” Up next will be a discussion with Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian. That could happen this week. Hills remains in the fold for the Longhorns headed into the conversation with Sarkisian. Melvin Hills by the numbers Hills played his senior season 265-270 pounds. Since the season ended, he’s been locked in on adding quality weight to his frame. He finished his three year varsity career with 168 tackles, 36.5 tackles for loss and 20.5 sacks. That included 80 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks as a senior.

  5. You talking on the roster in 2024? Or recruits in 2025?
  6. Texas will go to the portal for a PG after the season. Me personally, I really like Abmas at PG in the college game and what Texas wants to do offensively. You have to play over in the ball screen game and hard hedge out to 27-28 feet. It's creating so many good/clean looks for others. It's more of a pro game PG vs. a drive and dish PG. Moving Hunter off the ball saved the season IMO.
  7. That would be so big for Texas. He has such disruptive potential. He was close to 290 at the end of the 2023 season. The frame is catching up/developing ... now it's time for the player to emerge.
  8. Michael Fasusi and Tyler Thomas are expected to OV June 27-29.
  9. Texas likes Newman a lot too. He's a take. The Horns won't back off Fodje, we have all learned that. Texas is being very patient with OL recruiting. Not pushing for commits now. They will evaluate through the spring.
  10. Positive new for sure in regard to Texas and Brew. Brew not committing January 24 to OSU was a big decision for Texas' chances, obviously. Texas is all in on him with Sark and staff have made that clear.
  11. For me, it's just a continued development scenario ... Bo Davis is a tremendous coach. The foundation has been set ... now Kenny Baker gets the opportunity to help guys ascend. Kenny Baker probably can help with pass rush this spring/summer headed into the season
  12. Agree 100% ... Sydir Mitchell needs to take a BIG step. And the same can be said for Jaray Bledsoe as a disruptor

  15. Like that one ... just wonder if Duke gets in SEC with UNC ... tough to see them being apart.
  16. Was told AJ Milwee is going to eval in May ... spring practice/spring evaluation period
  17. Terrific early get for Oklahoma. IMO< will end up top 150 kid nationally, if not inside top 100. Doesn't turn 17 until July ... such a high ceiling
