  1. Per more than one college coach in both football and basketball, coaches are expecting the NCAA five years to play rule to be announced soon. When that is - some believe could be prior to basketball season. What it means is no more redshirt years. A college athlete will have five years to play, period. There are a number of ways to put those five years together, ie... two years at JUCO and three DI, etc... How that could effect the Texas football or basketball teams this year (all sports). Someone that is in year four right now, and currently scheduled to run out of eligibility after the 2025 football season ... are expected to get a fifth year. So a player such as DJ Campbell, Cole Hutson, Travis Shaw, Ethan Burke in football would have another year if they desired or were wanted by Texas. In hoops, Chendall Weaver and Jordan Pope would be eligible.
  2. Guervil out of the HS ranks. Portal ... everyone will be after their "stars" - if they leave
  3. And someone will overpay for him in that case. Not saying he can’t end up good, but if he goes and gets 2-2.5mill next year with what could be 1:1 TD/INT ration people are nuts. CJ Bailey at NC State will be the one that teams want most if/when he hits the portal. I was told in SoFla last week that he will end at Miami next year

  6. Michigan State commit to visit Texas this weekend Michigan State linebacker commit Braylon Hodge (Denver/Cherry Creek) was offered by Texas last Wednesday, and will quickly visit the Longhorns. Hodge tells OnTexasFootball that he will be making an unofficial visit this weekend for the Sam Houston State game. The 6-3, 215-pounder is likely to make a November official visit, assuming things move forward with both parties after this weekend. Michigan joined Texas in offering last week.
  7. Texas will start the season in the others receiving votes category IMO From what I'm hearing, I do think the Horns have chance to be top 25 team this season.
  8. Not arm or shoulder related. Not knee or last years injury related from what I was told. Some chatter about sports hernia ... but please don't go around saying OTF reported hernia.
  9. 100% mental He's just not close to what he was last year when in games for extended period of time, or what anyone has seen in practice in spring or fall camp.
  10. Introducing Vanderbilt freshman guard Chandler Bing Read the bio ... lol https://vucommodores.com/roster/chandler-bing/
  11. And there is this with the original story ... https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/46215924/ncaa-fresno-state-san-jose-state-players-gambling
  12. Texas and Guervil are talking a lot. There is a chance he makes a visit this season. If that happens, it gets real.
  13. Only thing I will say is this ... what I saw Saturday was just way worse than anything I've seen from a Texas QB. And it sucks to say it. Saturday was a total collapse/breakdown of confidence. The types of misses on throws (especially the last one in the flat to C. Clark) were very concerning for me. That is just so far off from quality QB play, let alone confident QB play. Rough to watch. I hope Arch comes back and has a terrific game against SHSU ... but man it's going to be a true internal battle won to get it back quickly at this point IMO. Hope he proves me wrong.
  14. Can't say I disagree, at this point.
  15. It's pretty shocking to see him lose all confidence/belief so quickly It's a dramatic swag/confidence change from when he had extended action in 2024. He's got the most pressure on him of any college athlete I have seen, but still shocking to see what we all witnessed vs. UTEP.
  16. it's definitely a 5-7 offense if what we all watched today doesn't drastically improve.
  17. What's funny to me is that when a team doesn't perform well, or up to their talent level, it's always the people that cover a team that are "you guys told us how good team X would be/could be" or "Pumping sunshine" How about some other options too... 1. An entire program (meaning coaches and support staff) are taken aback by the performance. 2. Maybe a coaching staff is not doing their job of maximizing a team. 3. Maybe some players just aren't playing at the level expected, even by a coaching staff. On the topic of Arch specifically ... does anyone think he looks remotely like the QB that played last year in his extended action? Does anyone believe that the Texas staff would be starting him if he looked like he did vs. UTEP on a daily basis in the spring and fall camp? The answers are obviously no. On some level, it's as simple as players and coaches just are under performing to their talent level. Confidence is so key in the equation too. I see an offense that lacks more and more confidence, the more they play right now. Arch has completely lost the swag/confidence that the fan base watched last year.
  18. This is 100% accurate
  19. Dia Bell Update I can now talk about this a little more. When I stopped by American Heritage Wednesday, Dia Bell was not at school. He was at doctor getting an undisclosed injury taken a look at. At the time, the American Heritage staff didn’t know the extent of the injury. Per multiple reports, the 5-star QB is in street clothes tonight. There is chatter in the South Florida coaching community that Bell could be out for the remainder of the season. That is not OTF reporting that. We do not have confirmation of the severity of the injury, or even what the injury actually is.
  20. Probably going 48-13
  21. Just had a quick dinner at little taco place by beach. Very good
