  5. OOS 4-star CB to visit April 11-14 One of the top cornerbacks on the board will be making a first unofficial visit to Texas April 11-14 ahead of June official visit. Hough High (N.C.) 4-star+ Samari Matthews tells OnTexasFootball that he will be in Austin with family members for a multi-day visit around Texas' big April 12 visit weekend. Matthews, 6-foot and 180-pounds, was the first offer made by new cornerbacks coach Mark Orphey after arriving in Austin. After Orphey offered, the Tar Heel State native quickly set up the June 13-15th OV. The Longhorns are in a four team race with Clemson, South Carolina and Florida State. Samari Matthews official visit schedule ... Clemson: May 30-June 2 Florida State: June 6-8 Texas: June 13-15 South Carolina: June 20-22

  9. 5-star to make unofficial visit OnTexasFootball was informed this morning that 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) is expected on campus in April for an unofficial visit. The 6-6, 340-pounder is one of the top handful of prospects in the country in 2026. He has been in contact with Kyle Flood and staff for a while. Maryland is fighting hard to beat out Penn State, Georgia, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Oregon and many others.
  10. I know Ogden and Haith will meet with Miller later this week. What comes of it, I don't have the answer
  11. I don't. He has enough staff coming with him that the portal conversations/vetting won't be a problem.
  12. I’m in the same boat I believe he will have one assistant hire, and will have to make decision on GM Other than that, majority of staff will come with him
  13. One college coach told me yesterday they don’t think it happens … But I’m still monitoring
  14. Exactly. Make contact ... there will be many. All part of the process of vetting. Bring on campus for a visit ... then it's real.
  15. It was more Anthony Black for me. I always give a coach credit for going after the player they covet most, but Texas wasn't getting Cason Wallace. And Beard passed on the possibility of him or Keyonte. That was a tough class ... Arterio, Black, Wallace and George ... they all went to different schools.
  16. I was telling a friend earlier today ... Sean Miller is the first coach at Texas I don't worry about in talent eval. Doesn't mean you hit on 100% (nobody does), but he's the first coach I just completely trust to evaluate, put a roster together and develop. Beard is a great coach, but I wasn't there in terms of talent eval. For instance, taking Devin Askew over Pelle Larson (Larson wanted to come, played at Utah with Timmy Allen). That one was too easy.

  18. He's originally from Euless Trinity High .. moved to Cali prep school for senior year. Hard to say. Too early for me ... Very good prospect IMO ... I'm a fan of his upside ... but there are levels of all of it too. I like his upside a lot. Do I like it if he or his agent were to ask for 2-3 mill? Probably not as much lol
  19. Thing with all this stuff to consider ... How much does a player want? The ask right now is just dumb by some guys. And for Miller ... if he doesn't go after a player he knows very well, he very likely believes he can get someone better/different moving to the SEC. It will be fun to follow
  20. Noted. I haven't heard of Miller going after him yet either ... so makes some sense.
  21. Xavier offered out of HS. He signed with Texas A&M out of IMG via Baltimore
