  1. 9-1 vs. P4 in non-con So 73-37 regular season vs. P4 6-6 in bowls New coach will be paid tremendously, but will absolutely have unrealistic expectations But it's the nature of the beast in college athletics for the blue bloods/near blue bloods
  2. He went 64-36 in the Big 10 Bowl game wins: Rose Fiesta (2) Cotton CFP first round So 69 to start before a non-con P4 win. I think he deserved it today, but my point is the next coach will have truly unrealistic expectations. The next guy is following a coach that had 5 top 10 seasons in 9 years, CFP W's, big NYD bowl game wins and won a lot. It's NC or bust type hire, and when CFB is about to begin a 16 team playoff.
  3. Matt Rhule is interesting ... he's from the Joe Pa/Jerry Sandusky era I would offer Marcus Freeman 14-15 mill a year first, and make him say no.
  4. Oklahoma for sure is a possibility ... they could go 2-4 the rest of the way and limp in at 7-5 Auburn is tough ... they are better. Getting the shaft from officials, but it's a W or L end game
  5. Possible/likely to open: Florida Florida State North Carolina Colorado Wisconsin Kentucky
  6. College coaching carousel 2025: It's going to be wild Total openings throughout carousel (21): Florida - hired Jon Sumrall LSU - hired Lane Kiffin Auburn - hired Alex Golesh Penn State Ole Miss - hired Pete Golding UCLA Virginia Tech - hired James Franklin Arkansas - hired Ryan Silverfield Michigan State - hired Pat Fitzgerald Stanford - hired Tavita Pritchard Cal Oklahoma State - hired Eric Morris South Florida Oregon State - hired JaMarcus Shephard Colorado State - hired Jim Mora Jr. Tulane Memphis North Texas UConn UAB Kennesaw St. - hire Mark Carney
  7. Not saying I disagree with the decision at all at 0-3 in Big 10 ... 104-45, 5 top 10 finishes in last nine seasons, CFP appearance, multiple big NYD bowl game wins Next coach ... it's NC or bust ushering in the 16 team CFP ... Best of luck! But you will be paid 11-12 mill a year!
  8. Sark is now 3-1 vs. Brent Venables at Oklahoma. Couple of crazy numbers... Texas has outscored Oklahoma 54-0 in the second half of the three wins. Even counting the 2023 win, Texas has outscored Oklahoma 67-14 in the second half.
  9. Are by some rankings. Not by others. But I will keep reminding everyone of this ... Todd Golden missed the NCAA Tournament his first year at Florida, Danny Hurley the first two years at UConn, Nate Oats the same at Alabama, Bruce Pearl the same at Auburn, Rick Barnes the same at Tennessee, etc... I would be very happy with an NCAA Tournament appearance in year one, with the understanding it's not a given at all.
  10. Texas plays: 2. Florida 4. at Kentucky 5. at UConn 7. Duke (N- kind of) 9. at Tennessee 19. Vandy 23. at Alabama 24. Ole Miss 26. Mississippi State 28. Missouri 29. at Arkansas 31. at Auburn 35. Texas A&M (2)
  11. I can tell you that what I'm hearing inside the building ... they believe this team will outperform rankings. I bet they do as well, assuming they stay healthy enough like anyone else
  12. Sunday Recruiting: Feeling good Short and sweet this morning. OTF is feeling very good about two prospects the Longhorns are recruiting. One prospect is currently committed to another school. And one prospect is not committed anywhere, at least for a couple of weeks.
  13. Texas has been trending since the visit. I don’t think any one game is the deciding factor Ultimately, this comes down to staying closer to family or not … for Jalen and his family And Texas being competitive enough to win out (not football)
  14. Jamarion Miller just got smoked Will take a look sat targeting IMO
  15. Rockwall-Heath got some youth on offense this year too. QB and RB both juniors
  16. Alabama at Missouri is an interesting game Bama run D will be tested. Drink interviewing weekly for the Florida job ... assuming it opens
  17. USF is legit squad. Bulls or Memphis Tigers inside track to get G5 at-large
  18. Not a name I have heard to this point. 2027 RB has been pretty quiet thus far. The staff is truly in eval mode in the cycle. Noah Roberts out of Arizona is a guy they really like early on. Everyone nationally likes David GabrielGeorges out of Tenn
  19. Yes! One of the funniest live events in college sports history!
  20. Thumb is healthy ... 100% playing Saturday
  21. College Football Live Thread: Week 7 This beginning Wednesday is for @Joe Zura But ... Liberty at UTEP tonight ... so could be some action in the mountains by mid-third quarter.
