  1. BY THE NUMBERS 1 Quinn Ewers is now the only FBS quarterback in the country since the start of last season to throw three touchdowns without an interception against multiple AP top-10 opponents, according to ESPN Stats & Info; Ewers led Texas to a victory at Alabama last season, as well. 1 Texas is unanimous No. 1 in the AP and Coaches Poll this week. 2 UT's scoring defense ranks second nationally and leads with SEC with allowing opponents to score an average of 7.0 points per game. 4 True freshman EDGE Colin Simmons' 4.0 sacks this season leads all FBS freshmen while he ranks seventh overall in the SEC in total sacks. 7 Texas has recorded seven interceptions through four games this season which leads the SEC and sits 13th nationally. 8 The Longhorns rank eighth nationally in 3rd down conversion defense, allowing a first down just 27.8 percent of the time. 23 So far this season, Texas is 24-of-26 on red zone chances with 23 touchdowns.
  2. RED RIVER RANKINGS • Saturday’s matchup will pit the No. 1/1 Longhorns against the 18/16 Sooners. It marks the 25th time in 26 years in which at least one of the teams has been ranked for the Red River Rivalry game and the 17th time in that span in which both teams will be ranked heading into the game. • Texas and Oklahoma will both be ranked in the AP Top 12 heading into the game for the 26th time in series history and for the second year in a row. • Before the 2018 AT&T Red River Showdown, when Texas was ranked No. 19/20 and Oklahoma No. 7/5, the two teams had not met as ranked foes since 2012.
  3. TRACKING THE RED RIVER RIVALRY • The higher-ranked team in the AP Top 25 has won 19 of the last 31 matchups (19-11-1) when at least one of the programs are ranked in the AP Top 25. Texas is responsible for eight of the 11 victories when the lower ranked team pulls off the Red River upset. • Texas has won the turnover battle in eight of the last 10 meetings with OU, with the two teams tying at one turnover apiece in the 2018 Big 12 Championship Game. The team that wins the turnover battle between Texas and OU is 15-7 since 2000. • Nine of the previous 11 meetings between the Longhorns and Sooners had been decided by eight points or less after 15-straight years in which the annual game was decided by at least two scores (1999-2013). Texas leads the all-time series, 29-22-5, when the rivalry game is decided by one possession (eight points or less).
  4. NO SURRENDERING • Texas is one of two FBS programs and the only Power 4 team to not trail this season (Texas and Army). DOMINANT FROM THE JUMP • UT has outscored opponents 56-0 in the first quarter this season. • The Longhorns are one of two FBS teams with zero points allowed in the first quarter, joining Clemson.
  5. HORNS STREAKS • Texas has started 5-0 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2008-09 and for just the second time in 50+ years. • UT's 11-straight home wins are the most since the Longhorns carried a 16-game winning streak at home in 2007-10. • The Longhorns are 15-1 at home over the last three seasons with their only loss being a one-point defeat to No. 1 Alabama (20-19) in 2021. • Texas has recorded eight-straight road wins - the most since registering eight-consecutive road wins from 2008-10. • Coming in at No. 1 in the AP and Coaches Poll, Texas has clocked in a No. 1 ranking for the fourth-consecutive week after being ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll from Sept. 15-29 and earning the No. 1 ranking in the Coaches Poll on Sept. 29. • The Horns have earned a Top-10 ranking for 21 weeks in a row.
  6. SARK'S STAMPEDE • Under head coach Steve Sarkisian, the Longhorns are 19-3 in their last 22 games with their only three losses coming against top-12 teams. • In Sarkisian's first 22 games as head coach at Texas, UT went 11-11. •Through five games this season, the Texas offense under Steve Sarkisian is averaging 513.6 yards per game and 7.30 yards per play. The yards per game is on pace to surpass the UT single-season record set in 2005 (512.1), while the yards per play would be on pace to be second behind only the 1993 team (7.44). Last season’s offense finished third (477.5) and fourth (6.67) in those categories, respectively. The current 322.2 passing yards per game would also be on pace for a UT record, held by the 2008 team (308.3).

  10. Don’t disagree … especially ‘if’ Texas is coming off a W over OU … will be a wild scene And add this … Georgia is in a near must win scenario. If the Dawgs lose October 19 - no margin for error left to make the playoff
  11. BTW, this isn’t an outlier on Williams in the first round Dane Brugler and another is saying the same The NFL scouts are telling those guys they love that upside
  12. Always … but Cam is gone if he’s a first round grade.
  13. I would be surprised if Barron went 1st. Not sure the testing numbers will be there, but would love to be proven wrong
  14. Tremendous right there. Hat tip
  15. NFL loves what Cameron Williams will become after a year of seasoning in the league IMO If he plays well the next two weeks, he may be better than 60-40 to be a 1st rounder
  16. Stud!! Love the offer
  17. Bobby will talk about that on Coffee&Football ... I don't know the exact coordinates. Inside the fair Saturday Frisay at the Texas exes golf tournament at Firewheel
  18. Songbird! Well done Dancing with a tub of mayo to it ... puts it in a different light lmao
  19. That was from the two Vanderbilt fans that live in Dallas
  20. Can't wait for the State Fair and the Saturday pregame show!

  22. Important note on Texas 4-star S commit Zelus Hicks One reason Texas isn't heavily pursuing another 2025 safety right now is there is still at least a 50-50 chance Zelus Hicks ends up reclassifying to the 2025 class. OTF would probably put it at a 75% chance he ends up in the 2025 class, as of today. Hicks, 6-1.5 and 190-pounds, committed to the Longhorns September 12. Safeties coach Blake Gideon and area recruiter Tashard Choice led the recruitment of Hicks. Hicks attended the Mississippi State game, and may be back for the Georgia game. The possibility also remains his family moves to the DFW area in the future.
