BY THE NUMBERS 1 Texas, along with Miami (FL), leads the country in the number of players with multiple touchdown receptions this season. UT and Miami each have seven players who have recorded 2+ receiving touchdowns: Texas - 7, Miami - 7, Baylor - 6, Clemson - 6, JMU - 6, Western Kentucky - 6, Boston College - 5, Syracuse - 5, Indiana - 5, Mississippi State - 5, Pitt - 5, Texas Tech - 5, Utah State - 5, North Texas - 5, Texas State - 5, Georgia - 5, Tulane - 5, Marshall - 5, LSU - 5. 4 Quinn Ewers is the fourth SEC quarterback since 1996 with five touchdown passes of 20+ yards in a conference game, joining Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa (Sept. 28, 2019), Georgia's Joe Cox (Sept. 19, 2009) and Kentucky's Jared Lorenzen (Nov. 10, 2001). Ewers had five touchdown passes vs. Florida on Nov. 9. 5 In five of nine games, UT has had 10 or more players record at least one reception (10 vs. Florida, 8 vs. Vanderbilt, 7 vs. Georgia, 9 vs. OU, 10 vs. Mississippi State, 11 vs. ULM, 10 vs. UTSA, 5 vs. Michigan and 11 vs. Colorado State). 8 Texas is one of eight teams to have the same offensive line starters in every game this season (Indiana, Tulane, Wisconsin, Kansas, South Carolina, Syracuse, Texas and Texas State). 14 UT's 14 interceptions leads the Southeastern Conference this season. 20 Quinn Ewers sports a 20-game streak with at least one passing touchdown, dating back to the 2022 season. That streak is the longest by a Texas QB since Colt McCoy from 2007-09. It's also the longest active streak in the FBS, shared with Colorado Sheduer Sanders. -

SARK'S STAMPEDE • Under head coach Steve Sarkisian, the Longhorns are 22-4 in their last 26 games with their only four losses coming against top-12 teams. • In Sarkisian's first 22 games as head coach at Texas, UT went 11-11. • Since the start of the 2023 season UT is 20-3 (0.870) with the only three losses against AP top-12 ranked foes. • Texas is 16-3 at home over the last three seasons with its only three losses to top-5 ranked foes (No. 5/4 Georgia on Oct. 19, No. 1/1 Alabama in 2022 and No. 4/4 TCU in 2022). • Texas has won 11 of its last 12 conference matchups, dating back to Oct. 21, 2023. • Through seven games this season, the Texas offense under Steve Sarkisian is averaging 465.2 yards per game and 6.7 yards per play. The yards per game is tracking close to the UT single-season record set in 2005 (512.1) The yards per play would be on pace to be second behind only the 1993 team (7.44). Last season’s offense finished third (477.5) and fourth (6.67) in those categories, respectively. The current 301.1 passing yards per game is also inching close to a UT single-season record, held by the 2008 team (308.3). -

Agree with you 100%. Baxter is one hell of an all-around RB ... knew the protection, blitz pickup and entire playbook in very short order - rare for a freshman RB. -

For sure! Good convo He's not taken the third year starting step expected to this point, for me. I thought he might be on that track after Michigan game, but he hasn't since the injury for sure. For his NFL draft status, I believe he needs to turn in a quality performance at Texas A&M, and hopefully in the playoffs. It would be great for Quinn and Texas if he went in the first round (and the NFL draft does push up QB's). -

I don’t want this to turn into a poop on Quinn thread … But he simply has to play at higher level against pressure the remainder of the season for Texas to have a shot to maximize I’ve thought about the Georgia game a lot on the road driving around the last couple of weeks… I can’t recall a coach having to pull a third year starting QB projected to be a first round pick prior to the season for that poor level of play before, let alone in the second biggest game of his career I I hope Quinn plays at a higher level in College Station, because the Aggies will put him under duress I also hope his camp is looking at his reality right now. Forget all the overhyped QB instructor BS (that a generational QB works with as a PRO), and get on a jump rope, mini trampoline every day, boxing workouts and play tennis … Quinn’s sink or swim in the NFL will be his maximizing his reactive ability in the pocket Every week in the NFL is the Georgia game- 41 replies

All good. It’s what makes this fun and interesting Quinn is what he is at this point for me. He’s a very good QB without pressure on him, which was yesterday. Elite in the intermediate game. The game Saturday wasn’t going to bring out his issue. He’s not a high-level QB playing in the pocket under duress. Will A&M being the lone team remaining to be able to apply that level of pressure? We shall see- 41 replies
