  1. Y'all are looking at this from a Longhorns fan perspective (and I agree) I'm talking about the national media & haters narratives. OU might go 5-7 this year. Florida might not win another game with their schedule. That's definitely gonna be held against us when people start building narratives.
  2. Garrett Gilbert had a more successful professional career than Arch is on track to have. Arch in year 4 looks like Gilbert as a freshman. Just let that sink in.
  3. It's very obvious we're seeing a Garrett Gilbert 2.0 situation. Gilbert was suited for a wide open spread system and Mack tried to box him up and fit him into an under center drop back system. Arch is clearly a dual threat running QB who needs his legs to get him going and even taking a few hits to get his competitive fire activated. (Josh Allen style) Instead Sark has him stationary in the pocket like he's Peyton. No bootleg roll outs, no zone read RPO's, no direct QB draws etc. Sark's mismanagement of Arch will be a legendary blunder remembered for decades.
  4. Hopefully so. I'm just worried about the small steps right now. Let's get some 1st downs and points vs Ole Miss.
  5. I'd like to believe this... But I experienced 2008 when our 45-35 head to head win vs OU got discarded and dismissed. Our 3 top 10 wins last year got thrown to the side for another narrative.
  6. Even if we won out, we'd still be a fringe CFP team. Having 2 losses to unranked teams is gonna be used against us.
  7. That's what I said. Whoever made the decision to leak this to Pete Thamel is a fool. It's like dropping a nuclear bomb for Arch hysteria in the media. They could have just kept it quiet, said everyone is being evaluated on film and in practice and then made their decision before the game at the report deadline. Arch clearly has his confidence as a player damaged. He didn't need an entire week of extra scrutiny. We're gonna hear "we want KJ" chants in DKR if they trot Arch out there and he continues to play like we've seen all season.
  8. I think he'll be fine. 😝🤣 We know Sark ain't starting KJ Him after the game...
  9. Uhhhh... It will shock absolutely no one if Sark puts Arch back out there. Who said any different? I made this thread to talk about the differences in skillets
  10. https://youtu.be/kpu0YZUNvng?is=L3D5kVaaXsuEsgOB https://www.instagram.com/reel/Deroo6bv3hS/?xtok=NGdlYjVhaHRkeW8y Basic skillset that KJ will provide that can add a different element to this offense. 1. Pocket mobility, creating throwing windows, extending plays. Based on what we've seen, KJ seems to have the ability to threaten all aspects of the field based on his ability to create new throwing windows for himself. Arch has regressed into being a statuesque QB, planted as an easy stationary target. He doesn't give himself the opportunity to create any new throwing windows by being so rooted in 1 spot. 2. Ball placement, touch and "catchable" passes Arch has turned into a David Carr / Garrett Gilbert like QB who fires every pass as a rocket no matter the target, distance or situation. We've seen dirt balls at WR feet, balls off guy's faces, sailing over their heads. KJ has shown effective touch on both short passes and back shoulder deep balls (think the throw to Berkhalter) These types of throws will allow Cam Coleman to be a threat in the offense. Jermaine Bishop to catch & run on drag routes, over the middle quick RPO slants etc. Unlocking neglected parts of Sark's offense RB screens will be back in play again, maybe even the renowned "Sark screen" 3. Lastly, is the timing of the actual plays. KJ has exhibited the ability to distribute the ball quickly as a point guard vs holding the ball. Arch isn't doing his beleaguered O-line any favors by how he's playing behind them. We might not get as many 40 yard bombs down field, but I'd rather prefer an efficient move the chains Colt McCoy style operation that helps our defense recover and regroup. / random thoughts
  11. That's not gonna stop the media hysteria, drama and talk.
  12. This "announcement" is literally the worst way this could have been handled The media and everyone under the sun is running wild with this story right now. Desmond Howard is making new selfie videos while taking out his trash. Football social media accounts are already pushing the Arch to transfer to XYZ narratives. They should have either announced KJ as the new starter and ripped the bandaid off, or not addressed it at all. Now the dude is gonna be under even more pressure, scrutiny and stress with every play. Sark just manufactured a QB controversy for himself
  13. The frustrating part is, we all know how this will play out. Arch will start because of the Manning family narratives vs Ole Miss If he plays poorly and we get down big early, they'll throw KJ out there and hope he can provide a spark. If we're winning at all or it's still a close game, Sark won't replace Arch. No matter how poorly he's actually playing. That's the template for how we've lost the last 2 games.
  14. I don't care when they make the move. I just don't wanna see any more of the absolute garbage quality of QB play we've been seeing. We can't even function as an offense. If Arch gets benched at some point vs Ole Miss, it'll be his own fault.
  15. 2024 and 2025 Arch had that ability. Idk what this 2026 dude is doing We don't need to get goofy and rewrite history and pretend Arch has always played like this or never exhibited any more ability than what we're currently seeing. That said, I still wanna see KJ Lacey
  16. It's not about "limited snaps or bad competition" It's about the eye test of a QB with active feet and a basic competence of how to move in the pocket. Yes, KJ Lacey has exhibited that every time we've seen him.
  17. This particular play is still on Arch in my opinion. A QB is supposed to have the pocket awareness to step up, glide and make that easy wide open throw to Moseley. Arch just stands there and gets pressured into throwing a worthless pass to Coleman out of bounds. KJ Lacey definitely would have had the ability to maneuver in the pocket and make that throw
  18. This is outlandish. This has to be one of the most basic reads as an O-lineman. This is literally just a LB blitzing right in your face. How do they not check this between Arch, center and the rest of the line? Why is Cojoe's head completely turned away from a guy right in his face? Why does he have no awareness or reaction time? This is offensive to watch
  19. Something I don't understand about Sark and this current disaster we're witnessing is... How is he incapable of scheming up plays to get our plethora of playmakers in open space to be weaponized? Every play it seems like our guys are absolutely smothered (no Hollywood) and are fighting in a phone booth. Where are the screens, play action roll outs, rub routes, WR trip sets with switch routes, drag routes with Wingo, Bishop etc? There's absolutely ZERO deception in any of our play designs or play calls. The nonsensical fake jet sweep motion out of pistol with a dive play on 3rd and inches is the epitome of Sark's lack of imagination or basic football play design. What happened to the guy who called the Alabama masterpiece? The guy who effortlessly dropped 49 on OU. Completely different playbook. / rant
  20. In a normal dynamic KJ Lacey should be given an opportunity. Unfortunately the celebrity nature of Arch will keep him entrenched in the position and will likely end up in KJ or Dia (or both) transferring. Arch is not an NFL caliber QB. It's crazy how pathetic he looks as a 4th year QB.
  21. It should be hot 🔥 but there's no viable replacements. He needs to be forced to hire an offensive coordinator.
  22. Coming to this late... But a QB isn't just supposed to do "what he's asked to do". He's supposed to have enough football IQ, savvy and instincts as a veteran QB to be able to call things in live action on his own. Colt did it. Vince did it. Sam & Quinn did it. Arch hasn't shown that ability at all. It's disturbing to think about and frustrating to observe.
  23. I forgot about that!!! That was ridiculous 🤣 Right in front of everyone too. Idk how they missed it?
  24. I couldn't waste my time listening to the guy in the video. I just fast forwarded to see the missed block There's absolutely NO REASON not to block the man right in front of you. They're supposed to be a 3 man wall. Vasek letting him fly by untouched is beyond egregious. Game losing play.
