    Teams like that tend to regress because they don’t recruit well enough to just reload and be a top tier team every year. Despite the easy schedule I see a minimum of 3 losses for them.

    This ain’t the 1990s anymore. College football has evolved significantly since then and left Nebraska behind similar to what happened to Minnesota post 1960 and Pittsburgh post 1980s. They will never be a perennial power ever again, but with a super senior team and a good coaching staff, they could have a pop year like ‘22 TCU, ‘21 Cincinnati, last year’s Washington team, etc.

    Yep or the B1G conference title game. Think about who would’ve made the CFP if that had happened assuming Washington still beats Oregon, Bama still beats Georgia, Travis still not available, etc.. Washington would’ve faced Bama and Texas probably gets a more favorable matchup with Ohio State assuming Ohio State doesn’t jump past Bama after beating Iowa in the B1G title game. Probably would’ve passed a Travisless Florida State team. That title could’ve belonged to Texas.

    It should be, but the NCAA already said they won't do it. Plus, the games were still played. Vacating wins doesn't change any of that.

    One of the biggest recruitments for Texas in this cycle. Must get by December signing day. Even if Texas still ends up with a top 5 class with only 1 or 2 HS DL, it will feel like a “fast food” type of class and not a healthy nutritious meal type of class without the quality HS DL recruits.

    Texas will never have a great DL ever again in some people's eyes. I'll let the results on the field determine if they're right or not.

    Yeah, you want your QBs, OL, DL, and LBs to come from HS recruiting, not the portal. The other positions are easier to fill from the transfer portal.

    If the roles were reversed and Sark was still at Texas with Lanning’s record and Lanning was at Oregon with Sark’s record but Sark was winning all the croots because of NIL, would you feel the same way?

    Yep Lanning is good. Also was the DC for an all time great 2021 UGA defense. I know Smart always has his fingerprints on the defense but Lanning was the DC that year.

    Agreed. You cannot just look at the overall ranking of the class. What players does that class consist of? Do they address important positions on the roster?

    Michigan didn't croot high 4 and 5 star DL but they had a coaching staff that developled these guys into a championship level defense.

    That was basically OU under late Stoops and Riley and how did that work out?

    Yeah and think about it - Fasusi seems OU bound now and Moore could be snatched up last minute via bag dropping. Could influence Ffrench, Lockett, etc. to look elsewhere. No reason Texas should ever have worse than a #10 ranked recruiting class unless the HC has gotten fired.
