  1. Starting QB or backup QB?
  2. There may be some growing pains in the first half of the season with new pieces playing along the lines of scrimmage, but yes, Texas is at a point where that can reload and not rebuild. I think a third straight 11-1 regular season is doable. Must split the away games @ Ohio State and @ Georgia, and win the other 10 games you’ll be favored in. I do think the offense will be more explosive with Arch due to his superior mobility and deep throw accuracy, but Arch must learn to check down and not always look for the deep shot. I do think the defense will regress some next season due to the losses in the secondary and DL, so the improvement offensively and regression defensively will offset each other.
  3. Eh I just look at the scoreboard instead of talking about moral victories.
  4. Yeah I don’t think the NFL wants a guy that struggles this much with red zone play calling or refuses to adapt to modern football and get more mobile QBs.
  5. Babers is not going into coaching. Doesn’t want to spend long hours away from his family. He enjoys what he does now. Not happening.
  6. Gotta get this guy to the 40. DT recruiting is already an uphill battle when you have to go out of state to find the best, so you cannot miss on the few great DT prospects within the state. Baker + NIL emphasis on DT recruiting goes a long way towards rebuilding this DT room into one of the best in CFB.
  7. Ohio State 35 Texas 24
  8. Find two more guys like that in the portal and they’re set for 2025.
  9. DT definitely speaks for itself…
  10. 2 down, 2 more to go. Great job, staff!
  11. Don’t know, but as long as CDC doesn’t leave, I will trust his ability to find the best HCs in the country, no matter the sport. He’s only whiffed on one HC hire since he’s been UT’s AD, and I expect him to correct course quickly. Gotta enjoy the ride while it lasts when it comes to the Sark era at UT.
  12. Phil Knight in shambles.
  13. Victor Ernest Schaefer, ladies and gentlemen!
  14. A speedy WR, yes, if the right guy is out there and both parties are interested. But Choice already came out and said they’re not taking a portal RB. Hopefully, he doesn’t eat those words.
  15. I just want 3 more DTs and a PK in the portal. Anything besides that is icing on the cake. At some point, the coaching staff has to trust their ability to develop these amazing recruiting classes. I understand not wanting to get complacent with your roster, but at some point, gotta develop the guys you got straight out of HS. That’s really the only thing other programs can use against Texas in recruiting is their depth.
  16. I think Sark would want to win at least one natty before he tests the NFL waters again. Reminds me of Saban at LSU in a way. Given the rigorous schedule that college football HCs have, plus NIL, plus the portal, plus having to basically recruit your current roster 24/7 365.25 days a year, I can see why he would want to pursue an NFL HC job. These rumors have been floating around for the last few years for a reason. Could his agent be the one behind those rumors? I think he will eventually leave for the NFL, but not until he wins at least one natty. Regardless of whether he has a long successful tenure like Royal and Brown, I will enjoy him bringing Texas Longhorns football back to prominence.
  17. A bad look from an outside perspective, but I doubt BV cares. I bet he calls his own defensive plays in what I think will be his final season in Norman. Rare for defensive minded HCs to call their own plays, but with his job on the line, he doesn’t mind imo
  18. Last ditch effort for BV to save his job. Goodwin was not a good DC for Clemson, but that defense has a ton of talent, and is a good friend of BV. BV is hoping some of Clemson’s defensive players portal to OU before next season.
  19. Seems that way. They still had the #2 class for ‘25. We’ll see in the upcoming seasons if that was due to the Saban influence and their recruiting will drop off.
  20. Yeah, it’s bizarre when you think about it. They will have to utilize the middle of the field in this game for the pass game to be effective. I don’t think Texas can swing pass their way to a win in Arlington. Ohio State is one of the few teams that pound for pound, man for man, can match up with Texas at every position on the field. When they threw it to the middle of the field against ASU, is was very effective. That was early in the game and late in the 4th quarter and both overtimes. Then they went away from it for some reason.
