Grew up in Austin attended my first game in 1961 as a six year old kid. It was a night game versus Texas Tech and I vividly remember the sound and colors from that game.

I was sitting in the north end zone with about 28 of Austin’s finest from APD of which my dad was one of them. He used to work game traffic for the overtime.

He sat me in the end zone and the rejoined me about midway through the first quarter.

I went to every home game from that day forward for the next forty or so years.

Saw a lot of great games and players all of those years.
