  1. Also concerning rating of the men's game, maybe not start the National Championship game at 8:20 CT? WTF?
  2. If Scott Drew ends up as HC at Kentucky, I will LMAO.
  3. Concerning the television ratings of the women's and men's finals, it doesn't help that CBS sticks the men's final on TBS. Being on one of the big four networks still matters with television viewership.
  4. After seeing Pierce's game-three post-game interview with KXAN, he knows it's on the wall. Excerpts- "18-year old kids", "have to go to class", "we're alway evaluating", "turn it around".
  5. It was Sunday afternoon.
  6. 15 years since Texas taken series from OU. 🤘
  7. Other than Sark, CDC’s coaching searches seem to begin in the top 5-top 10 programs in the country.
  8. It's probably the jersey number and dreads and upright running style, but he reminds me CJ Baxter.
  9. Two games against Texas State this week. Losing a season series against Texas State would be a another black eye (and we have an L against the Bobcats in the books). Big XII baseball sucks this year and schedule was so favorable for a conference run. We still might sneak into the postseason, but it's fools gold.
  10. Damn, y’all killing it @Gerry Hamilton & @CJ Vogel. We’re supposed to be paying for this level of coverage!
  11. I get the sense that Pierce is asking guys to throw pitches they're not quite comfortable throwing. Way too many walks and HBP. Or maybe we have just really poorly developed staff. Whatever the case, he's the head coach and pitching coach and it's all on him. I also think that losing Philip Miller hasn't helped this team. Again, whatever the circumstances, it's up to the guy making the $1.2M to figure it out.
  12. I took those canceled dinners as an indication they were concerned about pissing off ESPN and FOX not even a year into the new deals. ..but whatever the case, crazy times in college athletics.
  13. @Bobby Burton, would be curious to see if you know anyone that can speak to some of these issues outlined in this Athletic article co-authored by Stewart Mandel? https://theathletic.com/5383639/2024/04/03/college-football-super-league-cst-realignment/ Sorry, it's likely behind a paywall, but a few non-contiguous excerpts from the article- One league overseeing college football’s highest level. No more conferences as we’ve known them. Playoff berths being decided solely on the field. Promotion and relegation for smaller schools. Players being paid directly. NIL and the transfer portal, managed. A group of influential leaders wants to make all this happen soon — and they are pitching it as the best way forward for a sport they believe needs saving. They are trying to implement a drastically new system that would replace the NCAA and the College Football Playoff and potentially provide a solution for the hurricane of current and future lawsuits aimed at the business of the sport, plus the NIL and transfer portal issues that, they believe, have put college athletics as a whole in peril. “I really think conferences in the NCAA are at a very significant likelihood of going bankrupt in the near future because of the lawsuits, both the ones that are going to trial soon and those that will follow,” Syverud said.
  14. the day that @Blake Munroe jumps on the bandwagon, we lose again. Stay away, Blake 😎
  15. Impressive to take that series on the road after those stinkers on Tues and Thurs.
  16. The NIL support will be there for the right coach.
  17. Oh, and we gave up five walks - in the second frame.
  18. In other news, our “ace” went 1 inning and we coughed up 8 runs in the second to KSU. 🤷‍♂️
  19. @Blake Munroe, could you go ahead and pin this thread for us? 😜
  20. The more immediate concern, it sounds like he just needs to maximize effort at his current weight. Reading between the lines, that seems to be the first obstacle?
  21. Most outlets projecting Stros to take division. ESPN has them at 97 wins.
  22. Also, Tanner Witt is out “indefinitely” with an undisclosed injury.
  23. Etienne was traveling 80 to 90 mph in a 50-mph zone at approximately 1:50 a.m. Sunday and twice crossed over a double yellow line to pass vehicles, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police Department report.
