  1. I'm embarrassed I clicked on the link.
  2. Agreed. I have to listen to replays in the afternoon, I was hoping Gerry would ask Coach Shipley if he had ever sat a player in anticipation of the playoffs.
  3. That's awesome, thanks for bringing it to our attention, Bobby! 🤘
  4. No to squabble with Blake, but it's not a poll, it's a model from NYT/The Athletic based on "play-by-play data to make a projection for each college football team. The projections are not only made up of box score statistics but also returning production, recruiting rankings and transfers." I have no idea what "play-by-play data" are. It's behind paywall... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5653691/2024/07/25/college-football-model-projection-preseason-top-25/
  5. I think many people sincerely feel the site merits commemoration. I'm sure that will ultimately get incorporated into the design.
  6. @CJ Vogel, your post says Auburn to Alabama, tweet says Alabama to Auburn? Whatever the case, not sure this is the guy we're looking for...
  7. Update - The Texas Historical Commission approved giving the site "State Antiquities Landmark" status today. Construction ain't gong to begin in 2024, this is going to take some time.
  8. Great point.
  9. Also, no Alfred Collins in this game?
  10. Johnny Nansen, man. Never use the same formation, always have at least one blitzer. Rush Trey Moore.
  11. Also, off the top of my head, here's a list of 4⭐ + QBs at Texas that never developed into bona fide sustained starters over the last 15 years - GG (transfer) David Ash (injuries) Tyrone Swoopes Jerrod Heard Shane Beuchele (transfer) Hudson Card (transfer) Maalik Murphy (transfer) We all want these QB commits to make it to UT and succeed, but the hit rate is not 100%.
  12. I'm eager to hear Gerry's responses, but I have to laugh after the going through 13 years with no depth at QB and sometimes barely a viable starter.
  13. They definitely seem to have some motivated boosters for NIL. Not enough to sustain an entire roster to compete nationally, but seems they're being strategic in focusing on a handful of high-profile targets. For some perspective, Mike White (at last count) made ~ $625K a year as HC of Texas Softball. Can't find Glasco's salary at TTU, but he was making $225K at UL-La. Weird deal. I guess softball will be returning to Olympics in 2028, maybe there's an angle there with Adidas etc.
  14. Appreciate the off-season baseball coverage. 🤘
  15. from Palo Alto to .... Lubbock. 🤣 I guess she's from Kansas and Lubbock is like Kansas sans any vegetation.
  16. wtf. From Stanford to ..... Texas Tech.
  17. Good points. I think we're about to see a lot of smaller schools drop football. I know most don't care, but this would seem to really change the CFB landscape.
  18. …and how the hell will this be implemented? Add 20 scholarships in one year? That will be like an infusion of ~40 new players next year.
  19. Weren’t we concerned about scholarship reductions just six weeks ago? What changed?
  20. We run a 2-4-5, we're fine at DT.
  21. He's been a head coach for two years. He was a DC for two years under Kirby Smart (in other words, he had a pretty easy DC job). I don't think we necessarily know what type of coach Lanning is or how he runs his program. In fact, it looks like he may be running his program a lot like Jimbo.
  22. Joey The Mouth will coast on the Micah Hudson recruitment for another 3 years.
  23. Awesome game environment - their stadium's capacity is 54,000. That's indicative of the interest in Oregon Football in Oregon. ..but go on, "do something different".
  24. I know this is an old thread, but ol' Trev confirmed to the Houston Chron that he knew Schloss was leaving before the CWS. As the Aggies advanced in the postseason, Alberts sensed something was amiss and met with Schlossnagle. “I said, ‘Are you frustrated? Is there anything I can do?’” Alberts said, according to the Houston Chronicle. “And at the end of the conversation I said, ‘Jim, if you’re not happy here and you want to leave, that’s OK. But please don’t hurt our program and don’t hurt our kids.’ That’s what I said.
  25. Your son got a glove "made for him"? Sounds like he's part of the problem, when I played baseball you got a raw piece of leather and formed it into a mit with blood, sweat and pure effort. I kid, I kid, Blake, that's a pretty cool story 🤘
