  1. Double post. But since I can't delete... Anyone else have any Texas media that makes y'all cringe? Who do you enjoy the most?
  2. No joke. I tuned in right as Chip Brown was asking one of his typical long-winded questions and Sark gave him a full eye & head roll, before giving a snarky response. I'll admit I usually do the same when I hear Chip start talking, but I'm not on camera! 😂 While I'm not a CB fan, it seemed a little excessive from our HC. But still made me chuckle. On that note, Terry cracks my ass up. He's long-winded as well, but the way he always gets so philosophical is always entertaining!
  3. I hear ya... But still gotta give props to Curt Cignetti - what he has done has been awfully impressive. He's won more games in his first year than they had in the last 3 years combined. That's impressive regardless of the school. But to do that at a place that's only won 3 bowl games in it's history!? That said, there's a reason Ohio State is 13.5pt favorites against an undefeated, top-5 team... Vegas don't lie!
  4. Interesting... I'd be fine with Sark pulling this stunt on if the situation came up! Not sure I view it as cheating, moreso just using the rules to your advantage?
  5. I didn't see this, what happened and how did it benefit them? Not sure how having 12 men on the field induced them to throwing to jabaar, or how they're related?
  6. The comment about Quinn being under center signifying a trick play makes me nervous. Hopefully Sark's aware of that tendency, but if we see a trick play get blown up during the game... 🤯 Thoughts on the best way to counter that (outside of running trick plays from shotgun)? Would having him under center with similar motion, but running it straight up the gut really exploit much? I don't see us running more of our traditional offense from under center simply to break tendency.
  7. I'd go Lamar Jackson... Both have agility and speed, run tough but elusive, have cannons but struggle with touch on the short - intermediate throws. Cam was a bruiser (at least as far as running QBs go) with enough speed to burn ya. Tebow was probably a decent comp to Cam, from a running style. But Cam had a better arm. And LOUD game day attire.
  8. Texas wins 51-13 with Bert knocking off the early season rust by going 3/3 on FGs
  9. No doubt. Loved seeing that fire!
  10. I thought they traveled with a smaller squad? This looks like the full roster?
  11. Haven't seen the mods post any roundtable predictions, but I wanted to see how our longhorn community's feeling today! I got Texas winning 30-17. Quinn throws for 310 with 2 TD I think DeAndre Moore makes a huge play. TE's play a bigger role. Defense plays well, but a little softer in the run game than ideal, which allows Michigan to hang around, sustain some drives, maintain TOP edge. We still struggle to get our run game in a full groove, but Blue pops one and it's decent enough to keep the RPO game in play and open up 2 bombs from Quinn. One to Bond, the other to Moore. HOOKEM! 🤘
  12. I wish I could tap into his zest for life! His positivity & enthusiasm is infectious.
  13. For football, I loved me some Ricky, but Major was the first player I remember actively rooting for in a positional battle. Loved his clutch genes... And the fact he fueled every scrawny white boy's "if he can do it, maybe I can too" dreams! But DJ was the first player that made me love watching defense. I dug me some Vasher as well. For basketball, probably TJ Ford. Dude had an incredible feel for the game. PJ Tucker's effort/hustle on the court was always fun to watch. Baseball - probably Huston Street. Dude was lights out.
  14. Boo to you and the screaming sheep! 😂
  15. Let's all simmer down... SamMan came on a little strong and clearly David felt a little attacked. Let's not let this boil over! He clearly isn't winning any POTD awards, but not sure it was all that offensive, classless, etc either. I've definitely read worse! ----- Regarding the subject at hand... IMO - Silas has the type of mentality to maximize every practice rep and push those around him to get better. I definitely want him in the room regardless of how much PT he winds up earning!
  16. It'll be interesting to see both of their 40's. Headed into the combine I was going to guess Jwhitt in the 4.5-4.55 range, Ford in the 4.65-4.70 range, but I also never would've expected AD to break 4.4, or X to break 4.3! Any chance JT Sanders runs again? He seems like he could improve his stock with some better testing numbers, considering his athleticism was supposed to be his differentiator. If so, how do scouts weigh improved pro day #'s relative to their combine results?
  17. Gross. Not sure why anyone would take on that kind of headache/risk for a GOAT coach... definitely not for a staffer!
  18. For a little spin on the article, instead of the 5 players most likely to breakout, if you could pick 5 players whose breakouts would have the biggest positive impact on the '24 season, who ya got? My list: 1. Sydir - IMO, the one player whose breakout could singlehandedly take our D from a top-35 squad to a top-5. Would allow PK to unleash Alfred and the edges, maximize pass rush, clog the middle, make the LBs jobs easy. 2. Cam Williams - solidify the RT position and our OL becomes instant Joe Moore Award finalists. 3. Lefau/Gullette - need one of these young guys to step up. An injury to Hill would be devastating. 4. Terrance Brooks - I feel great about MM's trajectory. But if Brooks can take his game up a level or two where MM's viewed as our "#2 CB" - scary! 5. Blue - Probably should've gone with D. Williams here, but I can't help but think of word out of spring camp is that Blue has separated himself and taken his game to another level, he could become the most explosive RB we've had since Jamaal Charles... and our O would be humming. Honorable mentions: Derek Williams (improved S play will be vital), Cook (I feel great about our WR depth, but if he can step up to the challenge and make the transfers the 1B to his 1A, then that means he's future 1st round talent), Niblack (we know what we have in Helm - an underrated solid TE, but if Niblack proves to be a willing blocker, I'd feel much better about him becoming JT pt2, rather than another Billingsley).
  19. That'll definitely make it interesting!
  20. Gerry - any chance Dillon and/or Tyrese come back next year? Dillon has improved a ton, but if he could get his mid-range jumper down, he could turn himself into a no-doubt lottery pick. Tyrese seems too small for the NBA (considering his best attribute is attacking the basket), but not sure if there's enough NIL opportunities to keep him around or if another year of seasoning could improve his stock. Also - what's your confidence level (1-10) Tre Johnson is playing in burnt orange next year? Obviously last year's Ron & AJ recruitments have us apprehensive!
  21. I'm digging all their player interviews! Great candid conversations that are lively and fun to watch. They have a unique perspective and you can tell the players not only are comfortable, but also enjoy sitting down with them and shooting the breeze. Derrick Johnson has mentioned several times that he's been around the team a bunch this past year, watching practices and around the facilities. Does anyone know whether he has any interest in coaching? You can tell he's got the personality to crush it coaching and recruiting. Comes across very genuine and has a pretty infectious energy/enthusiasm.
  22. I was reading it as though Gattis was tweeting AT Worthy, definitely sounds different after realizing he's tweeting at fans. Thought he was accusing Worthy of attacking his integrity and he was trying to set the record straight. My B!
  23. Any of the mods have insight on this? I was under the impression it was indeed an admissions issue, but this guy's throwing some shade. Not really sure what he's implying though... a recruiting violation during COVID? Fake ACT scores? Or just Worthy having a change of heart? https://www.si.com/college/texas/football/former-michigan-coach-reveals-how-wolverines-fumbled-xavier-worthy-texas-longhorns-hands
  24. The reason he gave in interviews was he felt like by not testing, more teams would come to the pro day and he wanted more exposure for his teammates. Definitely a good spin on it, and very unselfish of him... if true!
