The even formally gets underway tomorrow and runs through Thursday (May 26-28), however as Bobby noted, SEC commish Greg Sankey will speak this evening. Sark and Sean Miller are tomorrow, followed by Vic Schaefer later in the day. CDC is on hand as well. We'll keep this thread open for all news and notes coming out of what should be a newsworthy event. -

Texas will hit the course for the final round of Stroke play today at 1:40 pm. Texas looks to make the top 8 cut and advance into the Match Play bracket. Farah O’Keefe looks to be the fourth ever Longhorn to win the NCAA individual championship for women’s golf. The last win was 1997 from Heather Bowie. -
Reading comprehension and common sense are completely lost skills today. For the millionth time, Sark said nothing about his past teams or Tech. He said there's an in-state team not in the SEC who Texas' 2 or 3s could go undefeated against their schedule. Even if he was talking about Tech, Tech fans have agreed that their 2s & 3s could go undefeated against their schedule especially considering they don't even play the best competition the big 12 has to offer outside themselves. There's no Utah, BYU or Kansas St on that schedule. Secondly, it is so dumb for Tech (and aggy before them) to say we're scared to schedule them when we have/had Alabama, Ohio St, Michigan and Notre Dame scheduled for our non-conference. We're not scared to play those teams but the thought of playing a team that we went 10-2 against in our worst stretch in program history keeps us up at night 🙄. We last played that team two years ago and beat them by 50. What are we doing?

I just lost what little of my IQ I have left reading those comments lol. We're not ducking Teech, there is no point in playing them. They're not a rival, they're not important and can only be competitive by over paying literally every single one of their players. This will back fire soon. Sure we had some stinkers last year, but still managed 10 wins and just barely missed out on the playoffs. Tech played barely anyone and still couldn't do sh*t in the playoffs. The comments weren't even directed at them, it was directed at the group of 5 schools getting automatic bids. This is how insecure they are lol.

Tech always using technicalities, credit their staff for knowing the rulebook and how took exploit it, but it's still lame. Just like I think they lead the country in asking for and getting obstruction calls when they are clearly beaten and out. -

Didn't see that game, but will agree with you that softball needs to fix that pitcher re-entry rule because what Tech had to be doing isn’t “strategy,” it’s a cover‑up. When you’re swapping the same two pitchers five times(like you said), you’re not managing a game. All you’re doing is hiding the fact that neither one can actually get through a lineup. This isn’t clever coaching. It’s a loophole being milked by a staff that clearly doesn’t trust its own arms. The constant re‑entering doesn’t disrupt hitters - it just exposes how thin their pitching really is. If your best competitive edge is gaming the rulebook, that tells the whole story.

I live in Buda, on the west side. My son has a house on the east side. I've lived in the general area for almost 60 years, but in Buda for only 10 years. Traffic is getting worse by the day/month/year. I never go into Austin unless I'm heading to a UT game or it's something that I can't do/attend without it.

I recently went on a trip to San Diego and went on a boat. Out of Touch came on while we were gliding through the bay. Definitely qualified (for me) as quintessential yacht rock.

We sold our house in Buda a couple of years ago, but only relocated to San Marcos because of my wife's work. More restaurants/bars are popping up every week, it seems. There's plenty to do away from the I-35 corridor.

How different is the offseason vibe going into the 2005 season if Dusty Mangum misses the walk-off field goal against Michigan in the Rose Bowl? -

He basically did it with one arm. Augie wanted to pinch-hit for him, but Wheeless convinced him that he saw Ryan LaMotta well, so Augie stuck with him.
