  1. Past hour
  2. I'm past changing the chairs on the titanic. It's over.
  3. coaches respected Ewers, they don’t respect Arch
  4. Defensive coaches neutralize all of that, simply cave the oline in, overload pressure, watch it fall apart
  5. I just wanna know what happened to the creativity in offense. What happened to the misdirection and trick plays we used to see every game?
  6. Both of Sarkisian’s 4th down attempts got stuffed and led to two Florida TDs off short fields. Not understanding the situation that you have a team led by your defense and a first time starter. Going 80-95 yards as opposed to 50 or less is common sense. A week prior he didn’t go for it and kicked a FG that missed. Sarkisian hasn’t learned from anything.
  7. If you can’t get a 4th and 1 reliably you might as well throw in the towel on the season, so I get it
  8. If they weren’t gonna change all that before the OU game with the bye week or Florida game they aren’t changing much this week
  9. Okay obviously this Texas offense has been putrid to say the least. Im going to give a couple of my takes on what Steve Sarkisian can do to save this season because all hope isn't loss yet. Start seriously considering a QB change. Of course Arch has been playing a really bad brand of football these past two weeks, but I can't quite give up just yet on a quarterback as talented as him. I'd start him this next game against Ole Miss for this reason, I just think it'd be unrealistic and unfair to put KJ Lacey in a situation where he has to come in and be the saving grace of this offense, it's what the fans thought Arch would do in 2024 and obviously those expectations were too much for him. Of course if Manning is still not making the easy decisions in the first half, which is my third reasoning to fix this offense, then its time to put in KJ before the game is already lost. 2. Change the play caller Sure this is a big radical change, especially in the middle of the season, but this is the main thing that needs to happen regardless who the quarterbak is. Whoever would take on this dauting role, whether that be Milwee, or Flood, or even Chris Jackson, they need to recognize that there is a whole lot of problems right now than just Arch Manning. At this moment in time, Steve Sarkisian's offense has been way too predictable at times, leading to a whole bunch of inconsistencies and three-and-outs. A new change in scenerey is needed. 3. Change the idenity of the offense Right now Texas needs to quit running its "ideal" offense and run what works for them. No longer should every pass play be for big game hunting. They need more quick and easy throws, like a slant or some shallow crosses and spread the defense out. The run game needs to be simplified down to what they have been having succes with. This includes forcing Arch to run the ball and get him out of the funk he's in right now of holding onto the ball for way too long. Our players need to be utilized at what they do best. For example, this recieving core reminds me a lot of the '23 class, and in that class each reciver had its role. There should be no excuse on why the pass game shouldn't be at its full potential. You have the best 50/50 ball reciever in the country, but never scheme him one on one shot plays down the sideline. You have not one, but two electric recivers in Bishop and Wingo, and yet, not enough plays are called for them to go out and spread the defense out with their speed. Lastly, you have a great physical blocking reciever, who doubles as probably the guy with the best hands on this team. Use him as your safety valve always. Finally my last thing about changing this offense, Texas desperatley needs to utilize their tight-ends. What they're doing to help right now is almost nothing. 4. Start holding the offensive line accountable for their poor play The lines poor play has been a really big reason on why Texas doesnt have a run game right now, and worse why Arch isn't able to have time to progress through his reads. (Obviously when he does, hes still not making the right decision but poor oline play isn't helping.) It's time to hold Kyle Flood accoutable for his coaching. If Texas goes out next week with a way more simplified offense, and the line still isn't giving any push, then coaching might needed to be reassessed. Reevluate personnel. Our right side of the line just isnt doing a good enough job. That needs to change. Of course the main goal isn't to protect Arch, or Sark, or Kyle Flood's offensive line, its to make sure Texas is winning football games. If in the next couple of games nothing changes, it's time for change to come into this program. My priority order: play-calling first, offensive identity second, quarterback change if necessary.
  10. Sark fundamentally doesn’t believe in complimentary football. Nor does he recognize that his offense’s primary responsibility at this point is to not leave an elite defense consistently exposed by their ineptitude.
  11. Something I don't understand about Sark and this current disaster we're witnessing is... How is he incapable of scheming up plays to get our plethora of playmakers in open space to be weaponized? Every play it seems like our guys are absolutely smothered (no Hollywood) and are fighting in a phone booth. Where are the screens, play action roll outs, rub routes, WR trip sets with switch routes, drag routes with Wingo, Bishop etc? There's absolutely ZERO deception in any of our play designs or play calls. The nonsensical fake jet sweep motion out of pistol with a dive play on 3rd and inches is the epitome of Sark's lack of imagination or basic football play design. What happened to the guy who called the Alabama masterpiece? The guy who effortlessly dropped 49 on OU. Completely different playbook. / rant
  12. Today
  13. My bad. I've never seen him chewing out the OL after their lousy play, so I assumed he was in the booth. Thanks!
  14. Kyle Flood is on the sidelines and always has been. AJ Milweed is the coach in booth.
  15. Thank God. The way he banged those unprotected kne,es into turf I was workneecapbroke a kap or boa bone bruised it. I didn't see him roll his ankle over, so I was looking elsewherhave e. It must happened when they piled on, top of him and you couldn't see it. Hopefully it's not serious.
  16. 4 hours ago, Marcus Myers said: I have a TON of respect for Tillman Holloway. My redshirt freshman year as a linebacker at Texas was Tillman's senior year. On the field, he was an animal and made practice fun for a young defensive player still trying to figure out college ball. Off the field, he was a fun-loving guy who always had some silly antics in the locker room and, at the same time, some thought-provoking words he'd speak. The latter part of that statement still holds true to this day. His tweet below, while long, deserves its own thread, IMO. Unfortunately, if we don't change the OL or make the OL coach come to the sidelines out of the booth to start chewing some OL derriere, and change the person playing QB, it doesn't matter who's calling the plays.
  17. Sometimes letting him sit can clear his head.
  18. Arch having zero confidence in himself as a quarterback is the issue. Just like a three point shooter who needs to see the ball go through the hoop, Arch needs to build his confidence on the easy throws. It's either he has all the time in the world and he's late (and he knows he's late, which is why he'll go for the big shot) or he has his center and right guard in his lap before he can even make a decision. How do you help a struggling QB?
  19. I've landed on he is a great play designer and a bad play sequencer. His in-game adjustments leave a lot to be desired as well. I won't go as far to say 100% on him bc there's still basic stuff I see Arch miss routinely. Sark definitely shoulders more of it, IMO, bc he's the head man.
  20. There’s lots of blame to go around. Sark isn’t going to fire himself, but he can see if another QB can operate more effectively.
  21. Texas gets a Draw vs #6 South Carolina at home. This team is pretty good.
  22. I disagree with this and Tillman re: Arch. I don't need him to be the best ever, as good as his uncles or even to win national accolades. I need him to do the simple, easy things right. He was one of the worst college football quarterbacks in the country yesterday. That's based on his play, not any expectations.
  23. Even if we picked up 1st down no guarantee of points it was an extremely bad decision
