Basically an overhang linebacker in a 3 down front scheme plays outside the defensive end with his hand in the ground and is more of an attacking player playing near the line of scrimmage rather than typical LB depth. For instance you could have a front 3 with Simmons, geffridge, and Jackson with someone like Smith, Biles, or Spence playing that overhang backer and Cryer in the middle with Snith or Biles. The secondary would be 2 safeties McDonald and Williams, 2 CB Phillips and Mascoe, and a nickel (star) Littleton. Schematically PK preferred organic pressure from his front 4 defensive linemen and did not blitz much either LB or secondary. Keeping the defense structurally sound and forcing teams to be precise and execute long drives. Which he did and taught very well. Muschamp is more aggressive with blitzes and moving d-linemen with stunts etc. This creates more havoc and pressure but leaves secondary defenders exposed if the pressure doesn’t get to the QB or the RB.

Brian Kelly says Texas over LSU

Dude's got some rhythm -
NIL juice only goes so far when you play in the monster energy big xii and people actually visit Lubbock. I hope they get nothing until everyone defending Sorsby is relieved of their positions including Codeman. MSU might be scared if their NIL juice. They rest, nah.

Brian Kelly says Texas over LSU
Alex Butler replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Makes sense, fathers and sons always fighting about OL coaches. -
When PK was hired, I read a good article on his defensive style and terminology. Has anyone seen a thread or article on the defense Muschamp runs today and the terminology he uses? I keep hearing Bobby and the other OTF personalities referring to something called an overhang linebacker. I'm not familiar with that term.

Austin Attalah final 3

Kind of all over the place so far. Would imagine there will be more than three teams involved by the end. Named Texas his leader earlier in the spring before a visit. -

A contender among two pretenders. All three schools will have the money, But does he want to WIN and be developed correctly here. As much hate as flood gets for last season his ability to develop offensive tackles should never be questioned. -
