  1. Past hour
  2. I’m just relaying what folks in the building at the time told me.
  3. How else is one to proclaim “I’m a man” other to make such a proclamation on a message board?
  4. Hate to see good kids leave but there's not much room. She'll be solid wherever she lands.
  5. Ah, thanks, she's listed as a Junior on the ASU roster site I looked at, but good news for us that she's a graduate.
  6. His delivery is so violent he's never going to have control throwing 97. You have to be a special type of athlete to throw 97 in the zone with a repeatable delivery.
  7. Other teams pitchers can be awful, ours just need some work.
  8. Drayton was on Brooks early when no one else was. Everyone including initially Texas was looking at Earl's grandson and everyone else. Drayton made the call on Brooks. Then there was this guy from Tuscon, Robinson. Shermar Stewart was the 5 ⭐ DL prize everyone wanted. Byron Murphy was considered the consolation prize that fell to Texas. Oscar Giles was the primary DL Coach for all the DL who went to the NFL since Dark took over. All from my not in the know fan perspective.
  9. @Matthew Hutcheson always putting in the hard work to make blake look good.
  10. No pitcher is any good unless he can throw strikes. Bottom line.
  11. Not necessarily. With Brooks specifically, the staff didn’t know about him until the recruiting department brought his name to the table. Giles didn’t recruit interior defensive linemen. Mark Hagen was the defensive tackles coach Herman’s last year.
  12. Gotta love me some Malcom Brown - and Byron Murphy - I can't choose.
  13. Oscar Giles on DL and Stan Drayton on RB!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
  14. Correct assessment on all accounts. Specifically, Burns missed with a cutter on the 3-2 pitch to Smith. They felt Smith was in swing mode and the cutter didn’t bite enough to convince him to take a hack. Someone mentioned it earlier in the thread, but Burns seems better when coming in for a clean inning or with less traffic on the bases.
  15. Today
  16. Don’t think Texas will pursue this one. Now if Alexis DeBoer for some reason wanted to leave U-Dub, I would take her in a heartbeat. She has a great bat. But she plays first base on defense and would probably transfer to Alabama if she decided to leave.
  17. 😆 yeah he is!! But he was putting what he had up and down
  18. I just noticed the first comment. 👀

  20. Update on Bino Watters and the first portal weekend: https://ontexasfootball.com/forums/topic/12671-sunday-baseball-portal-update/
  21. Swan graduated and is a grad transfer. But, you’re correct. White has even commented on it and his transfers usually have two years of eligibility left.
  22. Rod Wright would’ve had a longer career after Texas it wasn’t for a bad shoulder. Malcom Brown was a freak athlete at his size. IIRC, @Gerry Hamilton watched Brown beat everybody in a mile run on the first day Brenham started practice Brown’s senior year. The best part about Brown’s recruitment was that A&M, who thought they had him, actually finished third. Brown strongly considered Oklahoma, something that didn’t go public until he put pen to paper. Byron Murphy was another great evaluation by Tom Herman’s recruiting staff. Between Murphy, Jonathon Brooks, Gunnar Helm, Hayden Conner and Barryn Sorrell, that staff identified some future NFL players who weren’t no-brainer takes as recruits.
  23. I feel like Nichols pretty much solidified her spot with her play in the WCWS. If Beachum is only 3rd base that's probably a no go.
  24. How does the Texas requirement that you complete 50% of your coursework at UT to earn a degree affect our ability to recruit juniors? I see Sam Swan is listed as a junior at ASU so if she would lose say 1/3 of her credits transferring to UT she would probably need two more years to graduate, but at other schools more accepting of transfer hours she could graduate in a year. (This was what Sark was referring to when he said you could take just one class at Ole Miss and earn a degree). So seniors could portal in as grad transfers while portal frosh or sophs would potentially keep all or most of their credit hours, but juniors would take a hit, right?
  25. There have been some rumors linking her to Texas and I don’t know why. Yes, she follows a lot of Texas accounts and players, but she also started following Tech and OU softball before her announcement to transfer, too. She’s limited to 3rd base only, by the way.
