Eric Foreman is a name that I didn't realize was on that team. Had huge talent at LB, but wanted to play offense so he transferred. I think he is in prison (or was) now for some reason. Sadly I wish he had stayed at UT and fulfilled his potential.

Cosby played quite a bit in the season and in the USC game, in my recall. David Thomas was so good as a receiver and Ramonce was often a slot as a practical matter so there were no shortage of targets for Vince. If you don't remember how that was the best OL ever at Texas just watch the two point conversion at the end of the USC game. Robison and Crowder were the best pair of Edges Texas ever had. Robison was a Pro Bowler. The FB had a decent NFL career, one of the RBs led the NFL in rushing, another had a good career, and a third one played DE in the League. And then there was the tragedy of Ramonce. That team was astonishing. 70-3 in the Big 12 Champ game. Ask Joel Klatt. And I didn't mention the QB. If this team goes 16-0 and floods the NFL with the ROY and several Pro Bowlers over time let me know.

I have season tickets in the East Campus Garage. I find anything closer than that means a very dragged out entry and exit. Parking on campus takes forever.

Weigand deserves recognition for how good he was.

He mentions Kelvin Banks, but Christian Jones was just as good as him that season and was drafted and still on a roster. Hayden Conner also got drafted and is still on a roster. Brennan Marion gonna Brennan Marion. Let's see how his Inspector Gadget offense fares this time around

Samuel Cosmi turned into one of the best offensive tackles Texas has had in recent years, earned second-team All-America honors in 2020, was first-team All-Big 12 that same season, and wound up as a second-round NFL Draft pick. He also did something you almost never see from a Texas offensive lineman: scoring a rushing touchdown. Charlie Tanner deserves some love too. He was a dependable piece of the offensive line in the late 2000s, played in 45 games with 33 starts, earned all-conference recognition, and started every game for the 2009 Big 12 championship team that played for the national title. DJ Campbell played in 50 games with 43 starts and became a steady presence up front over the last few years. He was a big part of the lines that helped Texas reach back-to-back College Football Playoffs and the 2024 SEC Championship Game. Current No. 52 is freshman defensive lineman James Johnson.

Man, that 2005 defensive backfield.... wow. What a team and year that was. A lot of similarities to this team in terms of depth - if anything, feels like we are deeper now. As said above - WR seems like a stronger room now, but overall a lot of either/ors for me. Of course, we know how that year played out and still have to see this year, but the pieces are there. What makes this even more hilarious is they lost Seaton to the portal. He was the best lineman they had. Talk about gassing up. That was very foolish and is a terrible look on his credibility.

I’d take this and probably many other years over the 2005 receivers. Outside of sweed there just wasn’t anything there that stands out(Shipley being hurt and Quan being a freshman is it). I’d probably also take the current crop of linebackers.

Agree. It's the little things that he does to avoid tacklers that's amazing to me. If our OL and scheme can get this athlete into the open, watch out.

l love the small adjustments that he makes while running to put him in the best position to avoid being tackled.

Another factor not discussed much is the hire of Muschamp. Sark calling him the head coach of the defense is not just hyperbole in my opinion. Sark is now free to focus primarily on the offense and game preparation without having to be concerned with the D. I believe this can be a gamechangwr in addition to Milwee in the press box.

DHT, you do what you wanna do. We all need to be exposed to differing opinions and ideas. I agree about the confidence vs ignorance pov, b/c he will find out soon that the competition is a lot tougher in college that HS, and the pros are a much bigger leap. Lessons that we all learned through life, and this was sort of like whistling while walking through a graveyard. Telling yourself that you are good.

Moving Milwee to the Box seemed to be a real game changer. No matter what other play calling coaches prefer, that is the set up that gives us the extra vision that Sark needs.

Where did the Longhorns rank, in the country and in the conference, in those key statistical areas during the stretch Milwee went to the press box?

I recommend a parking pass unless you want to walk a country mile.
