This is second-year Sayin's first start, and it's against one of the top (if not THE top) defenses in college football with elite pass rushers and defenders everywhere. The buckeyes will have to try to run the ball because their passing game could get very ugly. I expect at least two Sayin turnovers. Arch has an extra year of tutelage in Sark's system and about three games of live experience which is very significant by comparison. That will be the difference in the game.

It's not the long history with the SEC; rather it's lack of Big 10 success this century. As a Buckeyes fan, I'm sure you can sympathize with the view that Michigan's 2023 title is illegitimate. Add that to the fact Ohio State gets most of its quality players from Florida, Texas, Georgia and California, and the point is clear. Urban made the recruiting switch to the South because, after coaching Florida to two titles, he knew the Midwest talent couldn't cut it. Outside of Ohio State's 2002 title, there isn't much there for Big 10 country to proudly claim.

I might be one of the few, but I think Meyer would also do really well at Texas. In saying that, his top two landing spots were Ohio State and Florida, both are hot beds for talent and blue bloods sin their own right, no? Now in saying that, he's one of the great college HC's in the last 20 years, imo. Though he has a lot to dislike about him, especially around the culture he would foster that went on for many years. But in saying all that, I'm glad we have Sark and that despite the rough going early on, he's taken Texas to new heights and I hope he sticks with us for the next 20 years lol.

My favorite line from criminal sooner fans over the last couple of 6-7 seasons has been the "This is Oklahoma!" refrain when expressing surprise about their struggles. It's a good lead into pointing out to them that since everyone can pay players now, their cheating advantage days are over. Differently stated, it's not a coincidence they dropped precipitously as soon as everyone could legally pay players. Correlation is not cause, but causality is dynamic temporally speaking.

How much more do you think we'll see Arch Manning line up directly under center this season compared to the QBs Sark has worked with in the past? Obviously I don't expect him to do it as much as his QBs did back in the Pete Carroll era, but I'm curious how often they do that outside of short yardage and goal line situations.

I expect McCutcheon will play some. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lockett get a few plays in the deep red zone either considering his ability to win 50-50 balls.

How does that neutral site affect our bottom dollar? If we have 100,000 paying fans at a home game with $200 spent per spectator that is a gross of 20 million dollars. That is likely a low estimate. Is it time to make the OU game a home and home?
