  2. The honeymoon is over. After an underwhelming first game, and all the criticism cast on our offense and QB, this team better come out with a sense of urgency and serious chip on its shoulder.
  3. Well that and it was rushed, O didn't even get a chance to get set. I know they didn't put a ton of trust in Arch but some bootleg passes wouldn't have killed them, to Endreis. I think Gerry or someone mentioned this a year or so ago, Sark is great between the 20's but once the field condenses he seems to not be able to figure it out. Not all the time, obviously but it is becoming an noticeable trend for his teams.

  9. In a game where there might not be any points scored by half, you kick FG. Except for OSU’s wideouts, Sayin is bunch were raw. They were not going to score more than 17. Take the points in that type of game.

  12. He said as much when he said this game is about us. I wouldn't be surprised if Texas scores 70 these next three games, because where Sark normally likes to have a 50:50 run pass ratio he more than likely will have a 60:40 ratio to get Arch looks and reps. These games are glorified scrimmages.

  14. I think Sark should use this game to work on very specific issues the team has. Work on Arch throwing to the right side. Forget about the long ball. Work on the touch with the short to intermediate. Focus on timing and crisp route running. Don’t worry about the score

  23. Texas vs San Jose State Game Week Thread The Longhorns play host to San Jose State September 6 in the 2025 home-opener. TV: ABC 11 a.m. central San Jose State SJSU lost their season opener 16-14 to Central Michigan at home. CMU rushed for 247 yards at 4.9 per attempt. The CMU top two RB’s put up 201 yards of the 247 on 31 attempts. CMU totaled 362 yards on 63 plays. QB Walker Eget attempted 43 passes in the loss, and had two rough interceptions in the opener. Both were ill-advised throws. If he repeats decisions close to that September 6, Texas will likely get a pick six opportunity. Eget also had a lost fumble in the game. SJSU posted 383 yards on 67 offensive plays.
  24. As a Buckeye fan I will admit it was a close game. I also felt Ohio State was in control the majority of the game. Texas first score in the game was with 3:28 remaining in the 4th qtr and OSU was up 14-0 at that point. Patricia and the defense were not blitzing nearly as much and keeping everything in front of them and trying to limit any big plays. The yardage does not tell the story of the game. Neither does any "If's" Hell Sayin missed seeing a wide open Smith for n EZ TD- I dont count that as a what if, it is a rookie mistake Come the 4th qtr once up by 14 we were keeping the ball on the ground to chew clock. Now I did get concerned when Texas was at Mid field with a minute or so left. To early to say if either team is a top 3 team, but I believe both teams will look much different come play off time. Like Texas, OSU has a couple cup cakes to get our offense to gel and build some confidence for our young QB. Good luck the rest of the way to the Long Horns. Maybe we see each other again Dec/Jan. My concerns for each team. OSU Running game. Texas WR room.
  25. I think he’s moved it from player to player and team to team. He has typically tried to be a power run team up the middle while getting receivers the ball in space. Some teams have been more successful at that than others.
  26. I don’t think that’s a very fair characterization. Playing at home in your first start against a top-5 opponent is very different from doing so on the road. Quinn Ewers outplayed Bryce Young and looked like a future #1 pick in his second game ever. That was at home and he almost never looked that good again. Raiola, Nico, Kevin Rourke—they all had very similar stat lines at the Shoe. Allar did too and that was at Penn State! I have a hard time believing the qb play on both teams would have looked exactly like that if the game had been played in Austin. I think we need to slow down and see how Arch and Sayin evolve over the season before making strong comparisons.
